We just received some info from DCL regarding the MR cruise.
According to the brochure (I'll try and scan it and upload it with a link), the Port of Los Angeles does not allow coolers, except ones with baby foods, diabetic stuff, or stuff related to dietary issues.
Apparently the Port will not allow coolers of drinks to go through. Some sort of California fruit and nuts ordinance or something.![]()
OK west coasters... If you had 1 day to spend in LA, not including Disneyland, what would you do? One stop has to be the Robert A. Cinader Memorial Fire Station, City of Carson, Los Angeles County Fire Station 127 where the TV show "Emergency" (Station 51) was filmed. It is near the port actually!

It is my first trip "boots on the ground" to California, passed through LAX on the way home from Hawaii once. DW has been to the San Francisco / Sacramento area, but has never been to Southern California. We are planning on going to Disneyland for a couple of days after the cruise, and a possible stop at my employers office in Irvine. Trying to decide if we should fly out on Friday night and see LA Saturday or do it all after the cruise.I grew up in Carson and my mom use to watch Emergency. I didn't realize it was filmed in Carson. Did you know the hospital in Carson is the hospital image on General Hospital?![]()
Will this be your first time to the west coast? Knowing that will help me with some suggestions on what to do!
Worse case scenario, I could argue that my "dietary issues" include manic episodes if I don't have cocktails while on vacation!!![]()
this soooo made me laugh.
