Marathon Weekend 2026

SAFD: There is some great documentation on this board with all the tips you could ever need for registration. Go find it and read through it now. Look at the screenshots and know what to expect.

Remember you can SKIP PROOF OF TIME AND PREORDER MERCH on reg day! Those are things you can go back and fill in later.

But DO make sure you've filled out your shirt size or it can glitch and won't let you go back and correct it without starting over.

rD posted the NEW BROOKS SHIRT SIZE CHART, so find your new size now: https://digital-media-prod-usw2.s3....s-+runDisney+Participant+Shirt-Size+Chart.pdf

SAFD: I’m not sure I’m doing anything that’s a trick. I hate that we have to have multiple browsers on multiple devices to optimize our chances; but that’s how it is, so I’ve usually got about 4-6 browsers up for the random lottery (I could easily double (or triple) that number if I wanted and I realize that others will do more than this, but it still feels kind of gross).

I always have a group text going with the other members of my extended family who are planning to go in any given year. We let each other know who has the best queue times when the randomizer happens (somehow it’s always me) and build a plan while we wait for our queues to open. I always register myself first, one race at a time (when not doing a challenge), then move on to the rest of my party (again, one race at a time) assuming they don’t have open queues yet. We’ve always had really good luck with this method. We have only missed a few 10k registrations over the years (and replaced them with 5k or Half registrations, so not a full shutout).

I’m just thankful that there is no reselling/transfer of bibs. I can only imagine what a nightmare registration would be if bots/resellers were also involved.

I don't have much to add other than this:

If you are registering someone else, (who is an adult) and you want the absolute best chance of NOT having their registration "disappear" when you transfer it to them, you need to make sure that you are entering everything exactly the same as they have in their MDE account.

That means if their MDE account is "JOHN SMITH" you shouldn't put in "Johnathan Smith." Only put in what they have in their MDE account.

I try not to stress out too much, but since I'll be attempting to get DD signed up for the thing that sells out the soonest I will have more anxiety than usual this time.

You need to click on the words "Queue ID" and then you will have the option to copy a link. DO NOT click on the alphanumeric string after the words Queue ID. And remember it's only good for one person, so if you want to share, then use Direct Message--because if you paste it into a post and multiple people go to use it, then all but one will get booted and the others will have wasted (precious) registration time.
Yes! Thank you!

SAFD: I’ve only done the registration game twice, so I don’t have anywhere near the expertise of so many others here. Husband and I registered this year through PPMD (muscular dystrophy), so no registration game this year for us. Good luck to all, really hoping this community pulls everyone through!

Does anyone have a sense how these Brooks sizes compare to the shirts of the last few years?

I’m hoping someone can do a “stacked” pic of the new brooks shirts at SS with the previous shirts so we can visually compare. I hate when they use measurements because it’s like…is it a tight fit or a loose fit on a *person* with those measurements or are those the *shirt* measurement?

Same!

I will say, all Brooks race shirts I've gotten tend to run smaller than the rD shirts. So I am ordering one size up from my usual rD size. Worst case it'll be a little big, but I'd hate to be stuck with something too small (and I don't want to hang around the expo waiting for my size to be available for swaps in case everyone else has the same issue).

SAFD: Not much to add - be ready before registration. And a reminder that you can get into the queue from any of the races - if the 10k is the first to open and you are registering for Dopey - go in through the 10k. It doesn't pre-fill or lock you into anything - you can choose your race / challenge once it's your turn.

SAFD: Echo what everyone else has said here. Autofill is my top tip to save time. Also, while this doesn't save too much time, it helped me snag my DH a princess half spot on telegram since I had about 2 min to get him in, you can use your email address for other family members you may be registering. I used mine for DH and never even bothered transferring it. His registration just lived in my account and he signed the waiver in person at the expo.

Also, my weirdo brain cannot convince itself though that every registration link brings you to the same queue even though they all go to the same page. I think "well what if this is coded so that each distance gets a different queue and then they let in a certain # of people from each of those queues at a time". I know this has about a 0.001% chance of being true because its way over complicated, but on the 4-6 different browsers I have open I will click different distances registration buttons just in case 🤣 . Not much of a tip...

Autofill is my top tip to save time.
Be careful of this if you're registering other people. It is not uncommon for folks here to use autofill for the address section and have it replace everything else in the form with their own information. It is fixable after the fact, but causes a lot of stress.

No matter how fast you're trying to move, remember to scroll back up and do a quick double-check of all your fields before going to the next step!

Ugh! This is going to be BRUTAL for the pooh-sized runners.

Knowing that the shirts run small, I find it hard to believe that they don't have a 3XL option. But as someone pointed out on the Running thread, logic and runDisney aren't usually besties.
Brooks apparel tops out at XXL, so there's not a 3XL option to offer.

Then, honestly, that is something that runDisney should have taken into consideration before they signed up with them. If runDisney wants to be seen as inclusive and welcoming to runners of all shapes, sizes, and speeds, this was a serious mis-step.
