Marathon Weekend 2026

Just popping into say I'm so annoyed at how cute the themes are and I swore off Dopey because it's so dumb but I am meeting up with my friends this weekend so we can discuss Dopey 2026 because I need these themes and the medals better be good. UGHHHHHHHH.
HEARD. :hyper2: The one thing I’ve got going for me is that I absolutely cannot do Dopey again, so at least that’s one item off the list! The rest? GAH!

I need registration tips/advice please! I have never attempted before to sign up for 2 races so need pointers! I’d be shooting for the 10K and half, so what would be the best way to approach this? The 10K typically sells out quicker it seems, so I’d probably do that first. And I know after you complete a registration, it asks if you want to add another. So would it make the most sense to:

1. Do the 10K, do add another registration to add the half, and then checkout? My concern with this is one of the races selling out while I’m in progress.

or

2. Do the 10K, check out, and then go back to add the half. With this though I’m wondering do I have to get back in the queue and then I’d be waiting longer and it could sell out?

Please offer any advice if you’ve done multiple registrations before!

I’ll be trying for the marathon and the 10k, so also interested to know the best way to go about this as I’m a complete newbie 😬

This will depend on when you get through the queue and into actual registration. But the 10k is one of the first things to sell out.

10k first, then the marathon. Explanation below.

Start here. DopeyBadger has kept tabs on the race sellouts, and once you factor in anniversary weekends, you can generally see the trends. If you go through that thread, there are also several posts with pictures of what the registration page will look like, what information you'll need to know (especially important if you are registering other people.) It's really helpful.

There are no anniversaries for MW in 2026, so "normal" sell-outs should happen in their usual order of 5k first, then 10k or Goofy 2nd and 3rd. Then Dopey, and followed by either the HM or M.

If one of the races is the "MUST-DO" and the other "I'm ok if I miss out" then complete your registration for the must-do registration and PAY FOR IT.

Once you do that, you can go right back in using the same browser and register for another race. While I personally haven't done this, there are plenty in here that have and should not end up in the queue, but get put directly into the registration page because they base it off your browser ID.

If you feel more "ALL OR NOTHING" about the registrations, fill out the first one, click "add another registration" (or whatever the wording is) and then complete the 2nd/3rd/4th registration(s) and pay all in one transaction. If something sells out, I believe you have to start completely over. Your cart contents are not "held" while you are completing the registrations and checking out.

If you get a short queue that you can start the registration process within 30-40min of it opening, I would do it all in one transaction. After that 30-40min I would check out with the one that usually sells out sooner and then go back for the 2nd in a separate transaction.

The usual method for us is to have as many devices/browsers available to us open before 10am. As soon as the first distance "register now" button pops up, we start clicking on it because all users who enter the queue before 10am (or when they open registration...it's not always right AT 10am) will be placed in random order, and all users who join AFTER are placed in the order in which they join. That means I have my computer with 2 different browsers both with normal and incognito open. That's 4. Then my phone with 1 normal and 1 incognito. And so on with whatever devices I have at my disposal. Some of us will stagger when we join, or join the queue right when it goes live, but it's really just random of where you will get placed. If you end up with extra queue IDs that are counting down, we share them with other dis'ers via DM. This is generally pretty successful, but as always YMMV because we don't know when rundisney will change something on their end and they could possibly tie a queue ID to your login or something.

I just registered for Wine and Dine and registered two other people. I don’t know what happened, but I guess I missed the button to add the other people and I checked out only paying for myself. In a panic, I hit the back button on my browser and was able to add them without having to go through the queue again.

I was lucky and registered within 20 minutes of it opening. If that’s the case with you, the chances of a race selling out are slim. What helps is having the fields (name, address, credit card, etc.) auto-populate so it takes very little time to register.

This is really helpful, thank you! I definitely think I’ll plan to do checkout on the 10K first since I don’t have a clear “one or the other” preference and just want to get at least one race. And don’t want to have to start over if the 10K sells out while trying to do both.

if you get in during the first 30min or so, you shouldn't have a problem doing both. If you have a POT to enter, DO NOT WORRY ABOUT IT during registration. Just pick any non-POT pace/finish and then come back and add your POT after you've paid. Don't spend time entering the POT information while the clock to get registered is still ticking.

Also if you want to preorder merch, DO NOT WORRY ABOUT IT during registration. You can go back and add that a few days/weeks later.

Good afternoon RunDisney All-Stars! Welcome to this week's edition of Sundays are for Disney (SAFD). We'll get back to March Magical Madness next weekend, but with Marathon Weekend registration looming and the registration questions starting to pick up, let's talk RunDisney registration. What are your tips and tricks for getting across the registration finish line, whether for individual events or registering multiple people?

In the meantime, here are the dining locations that are moving on to the elimination rounds from last week's voting:

Epcot
  1. Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie
  2. Via Napoli
  3. Spice Road Table
  4. Karamell Küche

Hollywood Studios
  1. ABC Commissary
  2. Hollywood Brown Derby
  3. Ronto Roasters
  4. Baseline Taphouse

SAFD: I don't have too many registration tips other than to have your Disney account created beforehand and log into it before registration starts. Once you've gotten in the queue and are watching it count down slowly, make sure to monitor this board frequently, as folks who've gotten through will often post queue links with shorter times remaining for people to grab and use. It can often be easier to ensure that you get one if it's sent via PM. If you've been lurking, now would be a good time to make an appearance and do some posting, as there's a minimum number of posts required before you can PM on the site. There are invariably a few people scrambling during the registration to get to the minimum. Don't let that be you!

I know there’s a trick to using the shared numbers. It’s not just copy and paste right? Or is the trick on how to share our countdown? I remember something being tricky.

You need to click on the words "Queue ID" and then you will have the option to copy a link. DO NOT click on the alphanumeric string after the words Queue ID. And remember it's only good for one person, so if you want to share, then use Direct Message--because if you paste it into a post and multiple people go to use it, then all but one will get booted and the others will have wasted (precious) registration time.

SAFD: my absolute, never fail, 100% effective trick to register is to not actually want to run the marathon. Every year I say that I’m taking a break from the marathon distance and I’m not going to register. Then I log in on registration day “just to see what happens.” One device. One browser. The intention is that if I can’t register, no bigee, it wasn’t meant to be. Guaranteed 5 minute queue to register. I’m probably the only person on registration day who gets angry when I get a fast wait time.

Oh the last few race registrations that I have said I wouldn't do, I used the same strategy. So W&D 2024 it sold out before the 5k (Bork, bork, bork!)....but then I got one later in the year when they dropped the random 1 or few bibs. This year, W&D I used the same strategy....and yup, got a quick queue. So that's why I'm signed up for the 10k when I said "No, no, never, never, nuh uh uh"
