Marathon Weekend 2025

Hey peeps that ran W&D....were the food trucks by our lightpole again like they were during MW? I'm in the mental plotting stage for Billy's "DIS'ers Master Guide to MW" and it seems like there's still a little confusion about where we meet in the mornings (at least for those that haven't joined a morning meetup every, or maybe some lurkers who might decide to not lurk.)

Yes, the trucks were there. Just 1 on the 5K morning, but 3 on the other mornings

I can't believe I'm looking into registering for the Disneyland halloween 2025 - I gotta get that Coast to Coast now. runDisney is a disease. FOMO

I have to say that the C2C definitely got me thinking - HARD - about the DL Halloween race. But then my rational side caught up with the "oh, look, bright and shiny thing" part of my brain. I'm eyeing a local half marathon at the end of the September (one that I can go fast in), I really didn't like the DL half course, and I have another big (expensive) trip two months later. That doesn't mean that I won't wind up registering for DL, but those are all of the reasons why I shouldn't.

I love the C2C medal but there is NO way I'm running a half in SoCal in early September. I really disliked both DL HMs I've done, so I think I'd have to love the medal a whole lot more to convince myself to do another.

Same thought I had! The logical thing for me is to say I'll want the 2026 C2C even more and DL in winter and W&D in Fall 26 make more sense. Especially since I think I will have to skip MW 2026 if my guesstimates on when that weekend willl fall are correct.

That is really my biggest concern. I did not enjoy the DL half last year. But I really do want to do the 5k and 10k one year - so why not add the half, get the challenge medal + the C2C. But not in 2025 for me.

If not for the C2C medal, it would be so much easier to say a big fat "no!" to the half.

The C2C medal for 2025 is so beautiful! I'm glad they brought back the Partners Statue element. I will hopefully be earning it at the DL Half weekend with Dopey a few weeks before.

For me, arm sleeves were a game changer. Back in January, before the Disneyland races, I bought a set with a bunch of different colors from Amazon and they were amazing.

This is what I keep telling myself. Those Halloween races are so tempting! And that new C2C medal is beautiful! I do think I'd like to do a 10k out there sometime because that course looks like so much fun, but that's a long way for me to go just to run a 10k.

I will say the DL 10K is THE single best race course of any rD race. It's like 90% park time and you see it ALL!

I just cancelled our trip Dh and I were both registered for the 10k. It was going to be Dh’s first RunDisney run. I was looking forward to not being alone in the corrals at 3am. Unfortunately, our DD needs surgery and it’s scheduled right after we’d be back. Considering I have now come back from our last two Disney trips with Covid, we decided it was best to cancel.

I keep forgetting Thanksgiving is next week. Which wouldn't be a problem if the local Turkey Trot would just confirm I can use my handcycle.

(FTR they allowed me and the chair last year, I know there was a cycle on the 5k last year, and I know there were Ansley Angels duos also at least at the 10k last year. I just want to double check before registering.

Also I may or may not be stressed from Comic Con registration this morning)

Edit: And of course there having packet pickup right when registration for Comic Con is. Can't have one simple thing apparently.

Update: Got confirmed for the Turkey Trot. Need to get their early because I need to load in before the Ainsley people because my thing turns like a truck. But other than that were good.

Also got my Comic Con badge through the good luck of being in a large chat once again and someone getting a queue number ahead of me willing to buy me the badge as long as I pay them back

Oh I agree! I live near DC so it's a haul to get out to Disneyland, but if I were closer, I would do every Disneyland 10K because the course is awesome!

Good afternoon RunDisney All-Stars! Welcome to this week's edition of Sundays are for Disney (SAFD). One of the undoubted highlights of RunDisney races are the characters on course. They're a great opportunity to see characters that don't make appearances under "normal" circumstances. What are the favorite characters you've seen on course and are there any you hope to see in the upcoming MW races?

SAFD: I love the unusual characters that you get, especially during the marathon. Some of the favorites I've run across have been Hades, Pain & Panic, Shan Yu, Jack, Sally, Oogie Boogie and the Grave Diggers. There aren't too many on my wish list. Primarily, I'd like to see the NBC characters make a comeback since their slot on course has been filled with the evil queens. Lock, Shock & Barrel would be especially welcome!
