I have a middle feelings on it...
They are kind of plain... but there is nothing I dislike about them. Just nothing special either. I will still be happy when I get my first Dopey though.

I like the medals - A LOT!! They look like a cohesive set and there isn't any single one where I'm like "yeah, no."

I do not like the Dopey medal… I don’t like how they drew him nor that it seems to be more yellow than green.

I do like the set overall and am happy they will match so well with where I am staying! (Sports)

Why is the Dopey medal YELLOW? And like....pee yellow. Gross.

I love the full and half medals! The rest are good, but I agree Dopey is aggressively yellow. Not my favorite character anyway.

This photo on the blog has me curious. Does it slide or is it hinged? I'm confused by the upside down half when it's open.

ETA: Maybe it rotates open?

Overall, I think this is one of the best sets of medals in years, barring the 50th anniversary set. I really like all of them, especially the half medal. I see the complaints about the Dopey medal and agree that they made some odd color choices there, though.

I think it's got a hidden-on-the-face pin and it rotates. Which, if there's no locking mechanism will make things...interesting when wearing these around. Might be packing a clear braces-type rubberband to put up on the "walt disney world" thing at the top.

ALSO, these medal color schemes make me nervous for what colors they might use for the shirt bases. Because these weird muddy "vintage" colors on their usual very-bright/clear color shirt bases could look weird (aside from the half medal because that's just red/white/blue.)

I LOVE these medals...especially after the disaster of the 2023 anniversary medals. The designer knew the assignment in designing an anniversary medal that doesn't overshadow the significance of this year's race, but still celebrates the anniversary.

I think it's got a hidden-on-the-face pin and it rotates. Which, if there's no locking mechanism will make things...interesting when wearing these around. Might be packing a clear braces-type rubberband to put up on the "walt disney world" thing at the top.

I think there are magnets in the little side circles, but having something to make sure it stays closed if those magnets fall out, would probably be a good idea.

Looks like it rotates. I’m seeing magnets on the back panel that would appear to hold it in place. If the glue holding those magnets in isn’t very strong I can picture a lot of people with medals that are permanently rotated open.

I think there are magnets in the little side circles, but having something to make sure it stays closed if those magnets fall out, would probably be a good idea.

I imagine that it's probably similar to the Encanto Half Marathon medal.

I’m neither here nor there on the medals again. I like that they are all a cohesive aesthetic but the designs themselves aren’t inspiring much of an opinion either way for me. Hopefully they feel like good quality materials.

With similar concerns regarding the Dopey, I love all the other ones - especially the Half, Full and Goofy (given the Goofy has been one of my least favourite in the past that's a huge improvement - and I like the subtle nod to the anniversary)

SAFD: timely subject… I’ve never chafed. EVER. Until just last week, when I wore a new shirt that tore my underarm - just one! - to smithereens in only 45 minutes. No clue why.

What will I do to avoid future chafing? Not wear that shirt again. I have a drawer full of other shirts that cause no issues with no special action taken.

If I wear particularly short shorts I’ll use some 2 Toms roll-on goo on my inner thighs. I’ve never actually had a chafing incident there, but I worry that sunscreen would make things less slick than sweaty skin-on-skin, so it seems worth an ounce of prevention.

ETA: I take it back - I did chafe one other time… when I tried using Fig Newtons as fuel and some crumbs found their way under my sports bra band. Never used Fig Newtons again lol!

when I wore a new shirt that tore my underarm - just one!

I’ve found that if I’m going to chafe under my arm, it will be on my left arm, which is my watch arm. I think I’ve subconsciously gotten into the habit of moving that arm more so that my steps definitely get measured.

Overall I like the medals. I’m being super picky but the marathon medal looks smaller than all the others again. It’s still a normal size medal compared to any other race organization, but last years was the smallest out of all 6. Hopefully it’s just the picture!
