Well, off to the shower and another exciting day in broadcasting. Have a great day everyone

Yet another thing we have in common??? What do you do--

Before I followed my hubby (at the time fiance)--I was behind the camera ;)

Meme- if you would take care of the logo for us that would be great.

I have sent Kamy several emails in the past few weeks and haven't recieved an answer from her as of yet, which is VERY unusual for her (I hope everything is ok). Last time I did get an answer , she was still planning on doing this stuff. But- I called the WDW group ressie person in charge of our group this morning - he was out sick, but the person I spoke to will call and check to see if it's ok if I just go ahead and make some decisions about the breakfast and dinner that are scheduled. Technically, their not supposed to talk to anyone but the person they've been working with! Kamy seemed to indicate to me when I did last hear from her that she would be ok with my doing that- so I'm gonna see what can be done. I should hear from someone either today or tomorrow- when I do I will let everyone know. IF they can't allow me to make some decisions, then we may have to make plans of our own.

Today I walk 3 miles- I let ya know how it goes when it's done.

Did I tell you guys that while I was in SLC, we went to Temple Square downtown on Sunday morning and got to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (Mo-Tab asd my DD so lovingly calls them ! ;) ) perform while they were recording their weekly television show "The Spoken Word" ? It was kind of a Thanksgiving theme. They were awesome! The sound in that building is unbelievable!! It was a cool way to end a trip.

Hello everyone from DisneyQuest!!!!!!!

We'ew having a fabulous time here. The weather has been awesome and we've done lots of walking and swimming. I've tried to do lots of exercises while in the pool. The hill at the Contemporary isn't that bad. It's about two buses high. The slope is the same on both sides so at least we'll get some momentum going down the hill before we head on up toMK. I took some pictures from the middle of the road that I will try and post once I get home. We don;t really want to go home though.
Excuse thetyping but the keyboards here aren't the best.

Great job with the training everyone!! Hard to believe that I'll be back here in such a short time.

Have a great week everyone and \i'll be back this weekend.

Happy to report a 4 mile walk today. I love the idea of adding up all my miles, I'll see what I have logged :)

I'll try to design a graphic and I also love the Why walk when I can fly with pixie dust. What other info do you want on the design? wishcon 2005? or wish walkers or wish what????

Karen I say go ahead and do some planning. I'm trying to decide on my family's schedule now. who's hitting what restuarants? Anyone done the clambake buffet at the CapeMay? or Spoodles, Whispering Canyon, Ohanas, or Liberty Tree Tavern?

Did anyone get a better room price than the group discount? I looked into the dream package special & they only had water view rooms at CBR and I felt the price was high. I really don't know what park tickets to get. Will I be too tired to do MK after the 1/2 marathon?

Meme,
I am thinking about WCC for dinner one night. It sounds like so much fun! We haven't tried any of the places you listed.
I managed to snag a discount rate for our room. It saved us about $30 over all, and allows me to try a new resort. Since I am trying to stay at every WDW resort, that's another one checked off the list! :teacher: :teeth: We are staying at POP Century. I would switch to POFQ, if I could secure a discounted rate on a standard room, but they just aren't available. POFQ looks very close to the st0art line! :hyper:

PS: I edited my earlier post to fix the link for the tickets. Sorry about the mistake.

I've been sidelined with a nasty cold

I had Sunday off, DS also felt bad on Monday, so off to the Dr. with him. He had a double ear infection two weeks ago, and 1 ear has yet to clear up. He got a new antibiotic at the $$$$ of $75 :earseek: We have to pay for our prescriptions and then turn them in for a refund - about 6 weeks later. That really through our budget for a loop! But he seems to be feeling beter.

I wish I could say the same. Blech - no running yesterday, and today I was going to try walking a few miles- but that didn't happen either. I am most worried I will miss my long run on Saturday. I really need the pratice!

My total miles so far have been 193 - that makes me feel really proud of myself.

I hope everyone has a more productive week than this is turning out for me.

Hi everyone. Did a 30 minute power walk at lunch with a couple of friends. I left my pedometer at home so I don't know the distance but based on the pace we were doing, it was a good 2 miles. It was an absolutely gorgeous day here ... probably got as high as 11 degrees celcius and was so sunny. But man can that temp drop in a few hours. I left work at 4pm and it had to have dropped about 6 degrees celcius by that time.

Have a good evening everyone!

Mary-Liz

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I haven't posted for a couple of days. Monday was my rest day, but DH and I rearranged our living/dining room and moved all kinds of heavy furniture around (he just "has' to have a new/bigger tv...aparently a 27" isn't big enough for a living room that's 13'x14' ). Is that cross-training? Oh well. Yesterday the kids were home from school (DS is sick...just a bad cold), so I didn't think I'd get my walk in. Just when I'd given up, DH came home early and saved the day. I was able to get a 45 minute walk in before it was totally dark.

I think one of my big mistakes in training is that I don't warm up enough. Mentally I know that I really need to stretch and walk a very slow mile before my muscles are loose enough to speed up. However, when I get out there I feel like I have to see how fast I can go so I cramp up and it's down-hill from there. Warming up is going to have to be my biggest training priority for the next couple of weeks.

It looks like today is going to be another sick day. I'm going to try to jog on the mini-trampoline in the dining room. We bought it for the children's physical therapy. Even though it was meant for adults I wasn't able to use it because I was over the weight limit. I realized last night that I'm now well under the limit, so I'm going to try it out.

I've made a few ps's for our trip. We're planning on eating Sunday night (1/9) at Boma. I was also able to reserve spots for the kids at Simba's clubhouse, so that we'll have some grown-up time. If the kids are doing well in the child center (and I haven't totally pooped out) we're going to try to go to DTD for an hour or so. Monday AM I was able to get a ps for the castle Cinderella breakfast :Pinkbounc , and Tuesday night we're planning on the RFK at AK (we have lunch vouchers and this place is supposed to be the best deal). We also have a few Q&C vouchers, so I think we'll eat at Beaches and Cream on Friday the 7th. Saturday the 8th I signed the children up for a kid's race (I think it's in the Epcot parking lot. If there's a breakfast meet maybe we can stop in after the kid's race (they start at 8:30). We're staying at POP. I was able to get a AAA rate of $61 a night. I tried to apply the code for $55 a night, but there was no availability for that code over marathon weekend at POP.

One more thing (I know this is turning into an epic). Nobody has mentioned wanting the Wishes cruise I have reserved for Friday the 7th. I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm going to cancel it tommorow morning at 9am if anyone wanted to call and reserve it in their name after I cancel.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Dawn

Another 3.2 miles down for me...

I wish I could do some fun PS meals--but our schedule is running away from us. My mom wanted to do a character me with the girls--but she expects me to be there to--But DDs are running the kiddy races at EPCOT at 8:45am....so we are now at a 7am PS for Chef Mickey's on Saturday. Saturday evening we have our Team in Training Pasta Party at EPCOT and our victory party is in the evening on Sunday and we leave on Monday.

Guess I'll have to wait for another fun weekend to have some fun PS meals.

Saturday is my 16 mile run--and they are throwing in that wretched bridge again. Hopefully my GPS arrives before then ::yes:: .

Morning ::yes::

Terry thanks for the clairification on the tickets, I now see that they are able to start use during my resort dates, not just the weekend! Yeah only need a 2 day hopper!

Lisa I'm in the sales department of a network affiliate (support staff). Been at the station 25 years, and the 10 years before that were at an advertising agency and a rep firm in Chicago. Let me tell you ALL, advertising/broadcasting in the '70's in Chicago was TOO MUCH FUN! Vodka gimlets at lunch and dancing at the Playboy club at night......there, did I make that sound glamourous enough?

Karen I say go for it on trying to plan group events. Also, do you think when we're ready we should post something on the CB as there are other DISers who may be going who aren't WISHers....wouldn't we want to include them in a group meet/meal....or should it just be us? What do the rest of you think?

Meme I like having WISH Walkers or WISHcon 2005 on the logo ::yes:: Regarding your hotel question. I have booked All Star Movies at our WISH rate, but have since found out the AP rate is $19 bucks a night less. I haven't tried to book the AP rate yet (so it may not be available for the weekend) because I've been trying to find out weather or not some of us bailing out on the group rate, would impact that availability of the rate for others....as in, does there have to be a certain number of rooms booked in order to keep the group rate. I will be sending an e-mail to merrie@dreamsunlimited to find out. Karen, you don't happen to already know the answer to this do you?

Regarding dining. I have Friday night unplanned. Sat dinner will be Boma (won't do the pasta dinner.....pasta doesn't make happy tummy)at the request of my pal PixieMagic. And it worked the night before the 10K! Sunday and Monday through lunch are unplanned. I would like to hit some of my favorite places that my sister won't be able to eat at when she gets in Monday afternoon...Like 50's Prime Time and Ohana! Was/is one of the group options a Saturday breakfast? I can't remember.

Ok, I've rattled on long enough for one post. Tonight is a cross train night. Will do one of my tapes AFTER watching "Lost" ::yes::

Ok I have a few logos ready for first draft look over;) I saved them as jpgs so i can email them out (send me your email) or I can upload them to my website. Please let me know. The graphics are from other websites so they may be a little grainy. Does anyone have or know if I can buy a disney software program with clipart? Does everyone know how to do a t-shirt transfer?

Karen I want to save the times if you plan a dinner or b-fast what days are you looking into?

Dawn, my dh also wants a bigger tv, looking into 42 & 50 inch ones:rolleyes: now he's not too sure since ds & I take over the tv for cartoons & disney movies - honestly I think I was liking the idea of a big screen;) Are you 4 year olds excited about the kids race? I wasn't sure about signing up my 3 year old. Thoughts???

Great job everyone with the training each day we are a step closer:earseek:

You guys won't believe this, but....

I FORGOT TO WALK YESTERDAY!!!

What do you think of that????

I'm still waiting to hear from WDW about the scheduled events. And I do not know about room ressies- but will ask if someone calls.

I sent an e-mail to merrie@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com and asked about the status of our block of rooms. I don't want to canx mine if it impacts our group rate (don't know how we stand with the minimum # required). So I let you all know. I'd like to save a couple of bucks OR upgrade to a moderate if I can.

I'm off to work as soon as I PM Auntmeme my e-mail address!

karen how can you forget to walk??? :)

i did my 40 mins walk today with stride drills. my neck is aching today, I get that off and on. I try to relax my shoulders down alot when walking but i think i tense up alot. yes, mom, I'm remembering your advice that you learned in yoga and thinking "lighter, softer, freer" but it was too late today i guess

geetey -- i emailed WDW off that link you sent about marathon participants qualifying for a "meeting/convention" pass and this was the response I got: (not that i doubted you i don't remember why i emailed them now ;))

just to confuse me more!!!!!

off to clean my house -- i'll think more about our trip plan later! maybe I should start a thread of trip agendas for us?? I need a spreadsheet if i'm going to look at this seriously!

and -- i'm planning on a couple hours at MK after the race, specifically until noon or so when I head over to GF spa for a shower and massage!

ok - this is really my only dilemma -- i really don't care what I wear, etc but my hair is at a very odd length right now. i'm growing it out from a very short haircut and it's too short for a ponytail but too long to just be ok. When I roll out of bed first thing it's quite a fright actually! i don't want to shower at 2:30 am for this darn thing. anyone wearing a do-rag?? my family thinks i look atrocious but I do that sometimes.

Mom- I'm showering AND using the blow drier at 3 am !!! There's NO WAY I can go with my hair not done.... I'd be a mess, ......
Unless of course I showered and did my hair before I went to bed that night...... now that might be worth experimenting with! I guess our apperance will have to be part of our marathon training!! Isn't it funny the things we think about before the race??? I am what I like to call an "Official" kind of a person. I want things to be just right...... thus, my willingness to get up at 3am and wash and dry my hair! I think this week my appearance training will involve washing my hair at night and seeing what I can do to make it look presentable the next morning.

THIS EVENT IS CLOSING IN ON US!!!! ISN"T IT SO EXCITING !?!?!?!? :hyper:

anyone wearing a do-rag??
I am thinking that it is going to be chilly and frankly I was thinking of taking a lightweight knit hat for the early morning chill and then "pitching" it for the clothes sweeper to pick up. (ONLY sweeper WISHer's can think about)

and now to our dear friend KKKKKaaaaarrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnn -
Mom- I'm showering AND using the blow drier at 3 am !!! There's NO WAY I can go with my hair not done.... I'd be a mess, ......
WHAT - you must be kidding!! You are an athelete crossing that finish line after a "mere" 13.1 miles - YOU ARE SUPPOSE to look a MESS :teeth:

Bottom line is ........... there will be pictures taken of you at different points during the race - I am only concerned that I am "smiling" as I cross that finish line - that is the picture I intend to buy and remind me of what a great adventure this whole 1/2 marathon journey has been!!!

Luv ya - mean it ::yes::

I must be beautiful!

And be SMELLY CLEAN!

Karen -- have you ever heard the tip of lighting a candle in your house and that it makes your house smell better so it appears cleaner to your guests. Well apply that logic to yourself and your WISH friends are your guests -- spray some bath and body spray on and GO GO GO!!! you'll be fine -- you'll be smelly at the end anyhow :)

but mom -- HAT HEAD!!! oh my gosh hat head is worse then bed head!!! maybe a do-rag under my hat??? :teeth:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi Everyone

I barely had time to skim through this weeks thread. Everyone is doing so well!!!! I am keepin very busy this week getting ready to leave for Orlando Friday and our cruise on the Magic on Sat.!!!!!!! I have tried to stick to my walking and today was supposed to be my long walk for the week but DD was home from school today with a headache and stomach ache (she is feeling much better now thank goodness, we can not be sick this weekend) so there went that plan and instead of doing some type of exercise tape I spent the day cleaning and doing laundry. I probably won't be able to get a walk in tomorrow either beacuse I have to work, get a manicure and pedicure, and finish packing. I promise all of you that I will walk on the ship and both days at Castaway Cay I am renting a bike for my crosstraining next week. There now that I made that promise I have to do it!

If I don't find the time to post tomorrow have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone and I'll report back when I get back. Poor DH, I told him that I want to drive to the Contemporary Fri. just so I can see Contemporary Hill.

Cheryl
