Seriously, dudes, there is nothing wrong with a manly man waiting in line to meet a hot - er, beautiful - princess.

Now, if you were standing in line to meet the princes . . . aw, what can I say, there's nothing wrong with that either.

Sorry, guys:

As a veteran, married man of 27 years, father of 3 adult children and soon to be grandfather...I love the princesses and thank you for making this post. Now I will have the guts to take some of those pictures I always wanted to take.

Actually what put me over the edge was the (I hope) tongue-in-cheek man card revoked picture. I would value my DIS Dad club membership way before what some stranger thinks of my manhood.

Wow, we can't even get all the DIS Dads on the same page on this one.

I don't know that you can revoke a man card for getting a picture taken with a Disney princess... I mean they're princesses and as PP said they're "hotties"

Don't think I'd ever stand in line by myself to meet any character, let alone a princess, but if there was no line, or I had to wait with my family I don't see a problem with it. It is Disney anyway, act like a kid, have some fun, it's all good!

That said, at WDW it's totally fine, dude! I've seen more than one dad offer to kindly take the kids to meet Ariel or Tink... ... so why not alone... ...

my DH would never get in line by himself, to see a princess. but honestly, i don't think he'd get in line by himself to see any character. however, whenever we are at a meal with a princess, he always ALWAYS gets his picture taken with whichever princess is there.

now, he and DS chose not to do CRT the one and only time DD and i have eaten there. and on the morning of the breakfast, he was actually disappointed. i tried to save him some bread, but the waiter snatched my basket away too quickly.

funny story. we went on a trip with extended family in 2006. everyone was off riding Dumbo, so i decided to hop in line to meet Ariel (my favorite princess). FIL offered to stand in line with me. he didn't know who Ariel is, so he asked if she was the one on a statue somewhere there in the grotto (i can't remember exactly where). i told him she was. he just smiled. i don't think he minded accompanying me to that meet and greet at all. and you have to know my FIL. he is the most mild-mannered person ever. we still tease him about that.

On my most recent solo trip, I met Tinkerbell---we had a lot to talk about, because I'm an engineer, and that makes me a "tinker human." I also met Tiana and Naveen, and they taught me the ball-step. They are a fun couple. Of all the Disney "royalty", those are the two I'd most like to hit the bars with!

This is the best thread I have read on the Dis in quite a while. I have no problem what so ever standing in line to see princesses or any characters for that matter. By myself or with my DW. The only people that I see having a "problem" with it, you know those ones that give you that "look", are the ones that just don't get it or think WDW is for kids.

What's funny, is I am a big guy (6'4" 350lbs) and the Princess look tiny next to me. When I took a pic with Tink last May, I got down on one knee and was still almost as tall as she was.

As for the man card, if someone wants to revoke mine, they'll have to take it from me.

This thread is funny My husband is definitely a manly man and a few years ago he had to babysit 2 of our grandchildren during the day for about a year. When he no longer babysat them I found he was still watching his Ariel cartoon everyday He got addicted to watching it with the grandkids. Since then our adult kids have been giving him Ariel gifts such as a throw and pillow and coffee cup and he uses them

That's a great point. Waiting for a Prince, that is definitely less manly than waiting for a Princess.

As someone who goes to LOTS of auditions (including Disney auditions) I'm pretty sure you have to be 18. Most of the girls playing princesses are in college or just out of college, with some exceptions.

I thought it was a well known fact that attractiveness only begins on one's 18th birthday. At least that's what I was told when I was 17 and dating a 16 year old.

Well, maybe they were referencing the story lines. I believe Ariel is only 16 in the Little Mermaid. My daughter and I already had a chat about that one........

I'm just back and I was inline to meet the Princesses, when a guy appeared behind me, we got talking and I said, 'oh meeting the princesses on your own?' and he replied 'yeah of course I am entitled too!' He was a hoot and the princesses loved giving him attention. It was great to watch! He was a charmer and wooed the princesses! Go for it!!!

I see why we are out of sync here....

I live in the northeast, so I don't check the notices for the Orlando area auditions (I've only ever done the NYC auditions) - you are right - partially - only auditions that take place in Orlando (and a couple in Hong Kong) are listed as "16 and over." (And only about half of the Orlando ones are 16 and over.) ALL other cities' auditions are 18 and over.

Since I look for auditions in the northeast, I've always gone by what they say in the break down for those. I have never seen a NYC audition that didn't say 18 and over. Here is an example of a current listing. (And I'm glad this thread got me to look, as I'm going to try to go to this audition!)

(So since I've only seen "18 and over" audition break-downs, that's what I was going by.)

We are also seeking Disney Princess Look-alikes. Performers develop improvisational skills, poise and grace while working for one for the world's leading entertainment companies.
