Mama Melrose's terrible

Did not like. Probably expected too much. Its been a few years though.

We ate there once and we all really liked it. I had the 5 cheese flat bread pizza that I thought was really good, that is until I tasted my DH's chicken parm, now I am planning on having that when we go back there in May. Mama Melrose is the typical Italian fare but very good. I too have heard some negative reviews on here about that restaurant, but we were all very pleasantly surprised with the food, service, and the fact that we could walk up and get seated right away even with FD going on.

we have eaten there three times on the Fantasmic dinner package and enjoyed the food all 3 times. Service was very slow 2 of the 3 times, though. Not bad, just very slow. (Long intervals between courses)

Good food unless you have high expectations. Its not gourmet Italian but decent food. For park food its above average.

I think its comprable to maggianos or olive garden! I LOVE it ! Chicken parm is my fave! And the bruschette is awesome! Not the BEST desserts but not bad just not the best on property IMHO. I have gone everytrip for the last 4 yrs!!!

i think it's average chain restaurant italian but offers a pretty good variety (flat bread/pizza, salads, pastas) especially if you have less adventurous eaters in your group.

Add us to those who like it. It's not fine dining but not intended to be. It's just good solid food and it's an every trip place for us.

We have been going to Mama's for the past five years or so for lunch and have always had great food and excellent service.

I say good but not great.
I'd say better than Olive Garden but nothing outstanding either.
We liked it better than 50's Prime Time.

Like Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill--but not as good as either. And with far fewer menu selections.

We were pleasantly surprised when we dined there a couple of months ago. I had the calamari and the rigatoni with sausage. We had the cannoli cake for dessert.

Everything was tasty. I agree there are not very many menu suggestions. But that is a problem at all Disney restaurants now. Even, the signature restaurants. Clearly a decision to cut costs and overhead.

Personal opinion, but I would put it way above Macaroni Grill or Olive Garden. Meals we have had at Melrose's have been very good - not gourmet, but fresh food, hot servings and wonderful servers. Will definitely go back again.

Just ate there last week. We enjoyed it. It was my second time and DHs first. I love the chick parm and he had the steak which he enjoyed. Service was a little slow, but not terrible.

Like this PP, the slow service is my major complaint. The food was fine, but it took soooo looong....especially to get my check at the end - I started getting kinda angry. We had gotten the Fantasmic package and I wanted to finish up and go on a couple more rides before heading over to the amphitheater - it literally took 30 minutes to get the check! I asked twice nd then just sat thee - waiting. I am TIW, and it automatically adds 18% - which I usually supplement because I typically give more and don't think it's fair for the CM to get less just because I'm TIW...but I left the tip just the way it was this time...and didn't feel guilty!
