Mama Melrose's terrible

Um... I guess I will go as far as to call it terrible.

It's no better than Olive Garden, and I think Olive Garden is pretty terrible.

Service is sooooo slow. I wouldn't go again to sit and wait for below average food.

In the comparisons to Olive Garden and Macaroni Grill, here's where I stand: I think Macaroni Grill is a notch above Olive Garden, and I'd put Mama Melrose alongside Macaroni Grill. It's not the best Italian food you're going to eat in your life, but it's an enjoyable, tasty meal in a nice, off-the-beaten-path location where you can take a really pleasant break. Yes, I do find the service a bit slow, but that doesn't bother me. When I'm spending that much on food, I like to take my time. :)

We really liked it. DH and DD's friend both thought the steaks were the best they had all week.

I went last december and thought it was really good... there were 8 of us that went and we ordered a variety of dishes and all were very good

We have been there many times and have never been disappointed. Great service and good food. We always make a point of going to eat there every visit.

or is Mama Melrose's pretty good? :confused3

neither. :rotfl2:

It's pretty routine. If you like the olive garden spaghetti you won't be disappointed. If you have an authentic italian restaurant near your house the serve authentic cuisine (in fact if you have some on italian in your family that can cook) you'll be disappointed.
It won't be creatively spiced but it won't make you gag.

I'm really thinking we ought to give it a try. I don't like any of HS counter service options. So, we will already be leaving the park at least once for a meal. I was hoping to find a good choice for table service. Mama Melrose's certainly seems worth a try from what you guys have said. Thanks.

I totally agree with this assessment.

Our family used to really enjoy MM but we think it has declined to the point where we dont even consider it an option anymore. Quality of food doesn't justify the cost. As noted in other posts, service is slow, which is a challenge with 4 kids.

The replies here were certainly disappointing, since we're planning to eat here on our March trip. I had heard only good things about this place from people I know who have eaten there. I think we'll keep the reservation, though, since we love Olive Garden.

Well, we actually don't like Olive Garden, but we found Mama Melrose to be more than adequate. We liked it a lot better than Prime Time. We went for lunch, and the service was pretty quick then. I chose a flat bread and others in the party had the chicken parmesan and the shrimp pasta. What I really wish I had chosen was the Eggplant Napolean -- it looked really yummy when several surrounding tables ordered it.

We ate their during our visit earlier this year. We were on the Fantasmic dining package and all eight of our group had a great meal, and the service was very good.

Would not hesitate to go back.

Varies a lot. Some items are quite good and some equivalent to Ragu over Muellers.Service is the same but we have usually lucked out.

If there was an Olive Garden next door I'd still eat MM not so if a Macaroni Grill.

I would not eat there again. It was just OK. We had 4 adults in our party and none of us thought it was more than average. The vodka sauce was not really anything near what vodka sauce should really be. We enjoy Prime time and sci-fi more. We like Tony's better for Italian food.

On a side note though....we are Italian.

We usually eat there at least once a trip and in about ten meals we have never had a bad experience yet. The food, imho, is much better than Olive Garden and we have always had wonderful service. Looking forward to eating there in less than a week.

I agree with this. However, our service was not slow at all, and we had a wonderful waiter. I'd eat there again w/o question.
