We have an ADR at Alfredo's but I leaning towards changing it to
MaMa Melrose. What are your opinions on these two resturants?
We have never eaten at either.

Mama Melrose!

We have only eaten at Alfredo's once, but will not be back. The food was not good and the service .. from the hostess to the waitperson was poor. The place is way too crowded ..tables too close together and very noisy.

I enjoy Alfredo's much better than Mama Melrose. I thought the food was better and got much better service.

I have ate at both... Mama Melrose's is a busy atmosphere food is good... The one in Epcot is my favorite..... Alittle more quiet, I like the food better as well....... Mama Melrose reminds me of eating in Little Italy in New York or the North End in Boston, I like the hussle and bussle.... I just think after doing all that walking I needed a more of a break...... I also have 2 children and they liked both....

I've been to both. How about Portabello's at DTD? It's much better tasting and the apps and deserts are great. Nice wine list and full bar as well.

We LOVE Alfredo's (lunch) ... we book a later lunch so it's less crowded ... the food, service, atmosphere are all EXCELLENT!!!

We've never tried Mama Melrose ... we checked out the menu on allearsnet.com and it really didn't appeal to us ... two adults, four children.

Our family prefers the food and atmosphere of MM. We usually do the FDP there. We have done Alfredo's, and the lunch is better than the dinner. The dinner tends to be more crowded and rushed there.

I prefer Alfredo's a little over Mama Melrose's although both are just C+/B- type places.

Mama Melrose! Ask for Barbara if she is there. She is incredible! :thumbsup2

We hated MM and have never been to Alfredo's. At MM our waitress was non-existant. We got NO Bread and no drinks until we asked another waitress. Then when our food got there it was nasty. I love Eggplant Parm. and there were 3 teeny tiny pieces of shrivled Eggplant. My DH and DS got the steak and it was burnt to a crisp when they ordered medium. We won't be back. We are trying Tony's this time.

We've tried both and preferred Alfredo's by far. :thumbsup2 Didn't care for the menu at MM. Also, I feel like ALfredo's is more up-scale dining which I do appreciate occasionally while in Disney. :sunny:

I think you'd find that Alfredo's is more authentic, but that doesn't mean it would be to your taste. MM and Fredo's are entirely different experiences. You might need to try them both:earsboy:

We loved Alfredo's!!! We ate there for dinner and loved our food. Everyone was friendly and we had a great table outside, which was a wonderful atmosphere.

We've eaten at both, and enjoyed them. I enjoyed Alfredo's more, but MM was really good to. I think MM they move you in and out quicker than Alfredos, plus I like the wine list at Alfredo's too.

We ate at MM on this past trip. The food was ok but not to my liking. I had what would be considered a Chicken Pizza. There was barely any chicken on it at all. We went there because my DW is the pasta queen but even she said it wasn't she was hoping for.

We haven't been to Alfredo's so we can't talk about it.

We  Mama Melrose!!! Skipped it last time in order to try Alfredos and it is something we will NOT do again.

Alfredos was our absolute worse dining experience in WDW. This is even below the WCC where my mom got the salad dumped on her head :rotfl:

Alfredos - stay far far away :moped:

Dont change it, Mama Melrose is not even comparible to Alfredos'. As someone who knows good italian food when they have it, Mama Melrose is like a rip off. It tastes like tomato sauce out of the can. Alfredo's is real italian food, and really good italian food. You might want to check out the menu's though, cuz they do offer different regional foods (Alfredo's doesnt have very many saucy selections where Mama Melrose might). You can check this out on www.allearsnet.com under the dining section.

Alfredo's is the worst WDW restauant I have eaten at. I love food and I adore Italian food I've had truly authentic Italian made by Italians. We have eaten at most of the WDW TS places save about 4 we haven't gotten to yet. I agree with the other poster try Porta bella truly an extremely good Rstaurant. Good luck and Good eats :thumbsup2
