Making FP with two different arrival dates?

My 60 FP window opens Wednesday. We are staying 10 days and I have my whole FP strategy planned out. I just realized it may be a little messy though, because my parents are arriving 3 days after we are (we have separate rooms but are linked in MDE). So do I make all our plans and hope I can add them when their window opens Saturday? I didn't even think about this and am now worried about how to make it all work.

If their tickets aren't attached to their room reservation, you should be able to book FPs for everyone when your window opens up.

Is that still true now that stand-alone tickets are "date-based" and, therefore, not "activated/accessible" until X-number of days before their first active date?

That I don't know, but I was operating under the assumption that OP would be making FPs for the entire group on dates when both groups would be on site.

My question is in regard to what would be different about this FP+ booking situation (having stand-alone date-based tickets) if the "later" group DID have tickets attached to their resort reservation?

Yes, I will be making FP for all of us. I’m pretty sure their tickets are tied to their room (they booked through Disney directly so I’ll check). I just can’t believe I didn’t even think of this until now!
