how easy is it to make ADR's from the UK.
Has anyone been left on hold for a long time resulting in an expensive international call.
Do you have to pay upfront for character meals, i don't have a credit card, and they don't have meastro in the US.
whats your experience with the whole ADR process:confused3

I found the whole process very easy and the CM was very helpful. You don't pay up front apart from a few where they wanted CC but you weren't charged they just wanted it to hold it. Although i was on the DDP so maybe if you aren't on that you pay straight away. It was only for Cinderella's dinner hoopdedoo and mickeys backyard bbq thatthey wanted CC details for everything else just pay when you are there.

There are numbers available that you can dial before you make the call that will bring the cost of the call down to about 1p a minute - I'm sure somebody will post a link or just do a search for cheap international calls.

Make sure you write down the dates, restaurants and times that you want so don't forget what you are asking for and have a few alternative dates and times just in case. Depending on how many ADRs you are making you can get through the whole thing in 15 minutes or so.

They never charge up front for meals but certain reservations do require a CC number which will be charged if you do not cancel the reservation and don't turn up.

We booked two this year (chef mickeys & crystal palace) for June and didn't pay up front, don't even think we gave them a credit card number - not too sure on that mind. you could easily pay cash at the end of the meal. we just phoned the disney line found on their web site, and got through straight away so there was no hangin on the line.
Mind just an observation by me, but CM was nothing spectacular and we won't be going again even with a 4 year old mad on Mickey & co. CP was the complete opposite for food - fab.

I booked Cinderella's Breakfast last month and have been charged, this is one you do pay for upfront now.I paid with my fairfx pre-pay card which is in dollars.
I found the whole process very easy, agree with David-write everything down beforehand so you don't forget anything.
Phone at 12noon our time 0844 861 78 78 then wait until you hear a voice-don't listen to the whole ramble, then dial 001 407 939 3463 followed by the hash key, then wait until Disney Dining answers. If you hear a recorded message, hang up straight away and dial again,if you hear music-you are thru :thumbsup2 .
The number i have given you is telediscount, you will then only be charged 1p per minute+it does work as i have had my phone bill in+have checked it.x.

for the vast majority of reservations, you do NOT have to give a CC number and you do NOT pay in advance.

Only a very few require advance payment (cinderella's castle meals and i think also the california grill).

but for most ADRs, including most character meal ADRs, you just give your name and they give you a reservation number and that's it. No credit card, no advance payment.

In other words, for character meals at the Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare, Cape May Cafe, etc., you do NOT pay in advance and you do NOT give a CC number. You just give your name and phone number.

As another poster wrote, be sure you know the possible dates and times you want, so that you can give alternatives if what you want isn't available.

By the way, supposedly, disney is in the process of converting to an online reservation system, but i have no clue as to when it will go into effect nor how it will work.

I wasn't kept waiting when I called to book my ADR's. As PP posters have said the reservation teams are very very helpful and go out of there way to give advise. :thumbsup2

If you are booking CRT or Hoop de Doo you would need to pay in full in advance on a credit card / debit card. They also took our credit card number for our CG booking, the kids club booking and the pirate cruise booking. Every other ADR we made we didn't have to leave a card number for.

As PP posters have said remember to write down the time and number for your ADR's.

We have used SKYPE when calling abroad it very cheap.

Hope you get the ADR's you want.
