Making ADR Thread - hold times, IT vents, and general whine!

I got right through with no problem this morning at 7. Maybe a 1-2 minute hold time, if that. I went through the prompts but still had to be transferred by the first CM to someone else. Then I was told that they could only book for the 12th because of system issues. It would be back up in a couple of hours. Luckily, someone started yelling "It's back up!" a few minutes in. I still have to call back again tomorrow though!! I was so excited to get in on the LMT deal that I messed up my dates. We have a stay of June 12th-13th, and June 13th-19th. She spent a long while trying, but said she couldn't book anything after the 12th for me. I'd read on here that they could! Blah.. I hope I still get close to what we want tomorrow morning!

For whatever it's worth, we made our ADRs on March 9. We called right at 7 AM EST. My friend called WDW-TOUR to book our Backstage Magic Tour and I was on hold at WDW-DINE to make our dining reservations. He got through to a CM right away and after he booked our tour, the CM said, "Can I help you with your dining reservations?" He made all of our reservations (19 in all) with the Tour CM before I ever got off hold with WDW-DINE. I don't know if every CM could do this, but I guess it's worth a try.

I can highly recommend Saturdays at 8:15 pm! I just got through quickly and easily. I went ahead and booked Yak and Yeti for my AK day since the early Tusker House breakfast still wasn't available. I may keep trying to see if it opens up. Sending pixie dust to all of you!

Thank you! I'm done and not calling WDW-DINE until next vacation No changes this trip!!! Too much of a hassle!

does anyone know when this system "upgrade" is supposed to be complete?

The problem was the June switchover to the new system. I think July dates will be fine.

That's their goal, to have one CM book everything.

I just have to add that I called back at 7:30 this evening to add one lunch I forgot. I was on hold for about 15 mins. The CM took FOREVER just to pull up my reservation. The whole call for ONE ADR took 40 mins. I think this all boils down to how trained the CM is. There is no way I'm changing any of my ADRs. They need to improve this wait time, it's truly insane!

I forgot to mention, the first CM (my wonderful gal who really helped me out this morning) mentioned that she had heard from many people that the characters were returning to LTT. She said it's starting to book up!! I really hope this is true!!!

that is a joke right, i called at 6 am my time, 7 am Florida time and I waited 1 hr to have them tell me they had to transfer me because of system upgrade. Can you believe 1 1/2 hours later finally get representative and start making reservations to only have the phone go dead! MAD did not describe it,and because all my reservations were not finalized not one reservation was saved!!!!

I just called - Sat night at 9:25 est pm
No wait - went through the prompts that clearly asked for booking dates between May 26th and I think June 22nd.
I was able to get everything I wanted for my party to include 2 reservations for a party of 11 at 50's Cafe and Coral Reef....

It was actually, I dare to say,painless.

I had a bad experience with the computer system too! I called like around 11am EST and immediately after the voice prompts I was connected to a CM. Sadly she could not make ADRs past a certain date so I was transferred to another CM I was on hold for maybe 5 minutes and another, very polite, CM picked up. I thought the process was going to be a very quick and painless process since I had little to no wait and was only calling for 2 ADRs (my friend who is arriving 3 days before we are made all our group ADRs for us, so I was only booking our last 2 nights when we are alone).

So...I told her my first ADR request and the system froze. I sat on the phone with her for about 45 minutes while she tried to figure it out!!! She was very polite and nice to talk to, but I did not expect to be on the phone for so long. Finally, the computer started back up again and I made my two ADRs. I got EXACTLY what I wanted. It's a good thing because I would have been very upset to wait that long just to find out I had to change my plans.

Good luck to all her still need to make their ADRs for June...it is a pain
