Maingate West Hotel Choice?

Not thrilled w/current pricing of AS's for June using AAA...unless an AP code comes out we'll probably stay 1 night off-site before we check into WDW accom.

Looking for recommendations, main criteria:

1) cost

2) cleanliness

3) distance to WDW maingate entrance

Can anyone vouche for the Masters Inn or HoJo's?

There'll be just 3 of us & we're basically looking for somewhere to lay our head the first night where we can easily drive to WDW the next day (closer the better)...feel free to make ANY recommendation.TIA

I have seen good reviews here of the Quality Inn Maingate West for a clean no-frills place. It backs up to Sherbeth Rd, so you can just go out the back way and aviod the 192 traffic. I have never stayed here myself, though.

Since it's just 1 night have you thought of possibly doing Priceline??? You could get a nice hotel for much less.

Already got shot down on Priceline today , of course I was trying for a resort - not a 1 star.

Wonder what they (both resorts & 1 to 2 stars) go for on Priceline?
