There is no charge for onsite guests, so it will be $0. Once you have a band, that's all you need. Tickets for future stays can be linked to the band you got this trip. You can use the band that you get for your onsite stay for the offsite portion of your trip.

You won't have to buy them. You will receive them with your onsite stay and your ticket info will be linked to them through your My Disney Experience account.

If you're a Disney resort guest, you will be shipped the magicbands free. Edited to add: magicbands will be shipped to US addresses only. International guests receive magicbands upon arrival at their resort. Then the magicbands are yours to use. EMH ride access, room key, Dining Credits, etc. will expire but your tickets will still be on the magicbands, and your ability to FP+.

Magicbands are $12.95+tax. Currently Disney resort guests can pre-schedule FP+ 60 days out and (and brand-new) off-site guests can pre-schedule 30 days out. This scheduling is based on the tickets you have attached thru MyDisneyExperience. If you have 2-day tickets, you can pre-schedule 2 days of FP+, etc.

I didn't keep my Magic Bands from Last yr's trip, I am going again this Nov, will they mail me out new ones? I looked at MDE and the magic bands are still up and linked to my new reservation. I haven't purchased my tickets yet, I have a room only reservation right know.

Off-site guests can only purchase MagicBands at WDW. MagicBands are not required to make FP+ selections, you just need to have valid park admission linked to your MDE profile.

As of now they are still sending MBs out for every resort reservation. Of course this could change in the future.

Since you didn't keep yours you should probably disconnect that MB from your MDE account.

And this time, keep the MBs. They are good as long as their batteries last. No reason NOT to keep them.

As of today (3/31), advance booking of FP+ is open to most Disney guests.

Actually, if you stay on-site and don't "order" them, they will likely be waiting for you at check-in.
We have 5 each from last year that I've deactivated (and all the KTTW cards, too) and getting another 3 for our next trip. I'm hoping this will cause less problems with opening doors and room charges!
