Magical Memories~Reliving the Dream-One Year Later (with pics)

This trip report is long overdue!

Finally got pictures back from our trip, and it brought back so many memories, that I knew that I had to get busy and start.

Cast

Me: Daddy to a beautiful princess. The obsessive compulsive planner of the family!
DW: Mommy to a beautiful princess.
DD: 3 year old princess celebrating her 4th birthday in the most magical place!
DB: Twin brother of mine. Best friend since before birth!
SIL: DB's wife of 13 years. DW's best friend.

Day 1

After months of planning the day is here!
DD is so excited to go! She has been telling everyone that she is going to Disney World.

All goes smoothly as we go through the security at the airport. We gate check DD's stroller and find our seats on the plane.

This is DD's first plane trip, and she didn't quite know how to act! We brought coloring books and her hand held game, but that only lasted for a few short minutes.

Care for a piece of candy?​

Even though the flight was just over 2 hours, DD decided to take a nap about half way there.

The pilot makes an announcement that heavy thunderstorms are ahead, so we all buckle up and get ready for a bumpy flight.

DD woke up from all the turbulence, and decided that her tummy couldn't take all the movement, and decided to get sick (must have been too much candy). Can you believe that not one barf bag was handy . Thank goodness DW packs everything in her handbag, and proceeded to empty out the contents of a zip-lock bag and hand it to me.

After cleaning up DD a little bit we finally land.

Where's the sunshine? Where's the warm temperatures? Oh well, we are in Florida, and I have been told that the weather can change in a heartbeat!

We get to the Magical Express counter, wait for the bus and soon we are on our way!

We arrive at the beautiful Port Orleans Riverside resort and check in. We were pleasantly surprised at the way the resort looked. We knew we were on vacation, and that we would have a great stay!

We settle in and take a quick nap. We have Hoop-De-Doo planned for tonight, and need to rest up a bit for the late evening!

DB and I go to the concierge desk to pick up our tickets for the HDDR. I had been planning this trip for months and called about 9 months in advance. I hoped that we would get great seats. (I am glad that we did this before they implemented the 3 tiered seating plan.)

We find our way to Fort Wilderness, and get to Pioneer Hall. Wow, look at all the people, I really hope we have good seats. Well, we check in, and are seated right up front. DB and DSIL couldn't believe it! I told them we were sprinkled with pixie dust, and to just have a good time!

We were all having a great time! The show was laugh out loud funny, and the food and drink were great also.

During intermission, DD approached one of the CM's from the production. He talked to her for a bit, and since we were celebrating her birthday, her took her up on stage and danced with her. She was in heaven! She is such a ham anyway!

After a brief intermission, we sat back and enjoyed the rest of the show. Well apparently DD wasn't the only one from our family to get picked to be a part of the show.
One of the CM's picked me out of the crowd and came down to our table!

I could just feel my face getting redder and redder. My DW was almost crying from laughing so much! DSIL almost peed her pants, and DB was trying to hide, so that he wouldn't be next!

Dessert was about to be served, so we all thought that we were safe from any more embarrassment for the evening!

Apparently I was wrong, She just had to get one kiss in before the night was over!

DD got to play the washboard during the final number, and loved it!

I used clip art and photo editing software to make it. Printed it on heat transfer paper, ironed it on, and Voila!, custom t-shirt! You can get a lot of ideas from the Creative Disigns threads here!
Thanks for the comment on DD too. I think she definitely a keeper!

After having such a fun time at the HDDR, we knew that today would be just as fun. We were awoken by a phone call from Mickey and Stitch at promptly 7:00 am. I know vacation should mean sleeping, relaxing, and taking it easy, but we were going to the Magic Kingdom today!

We all got dressed, and headed out the door. The rain was coming down in buckets, so we donned our rain ponchos, and headed to the bus stop. Within minutes we were at the Magic Kingdom.

Wow! Where is everyone! It seemed like only a few brave souls got up this morning to have fun in the rain!
We headed down Main St. and stopped at the Bakery to get some breakfast. We ordered and sat down. We enjoyed the Barbershop quartet.

DD was so wiped out from being up so late that she slept through breakfast!

We left the bakery and headed up Main St USA. Cinderella's Castle looked amazing, even in the rain!

We decided that since DD was so tired, that we would walk around for a bit.
As you can see from this photo, the park was quite empty.

We continued to walk around for a little bit. We had early lunch ADR's for the Crystal Palace, and we were hoping that DD would be more awake for that.
We noticed that Woody and Jesse were around today, and since Toy Story is one of my DD's favorite movies, we stopped and woke her up. Once she saw Woody and Jesse, she perked right up!

We all head over to the Crystal Palace for our 11:00 adr's. We sat and waited a few minutes and were led inside. The flower sculptures were so neat!

We were seated at our table. We had noted on our ADR that we were celebrating DD's 4th birthday, so the table was decorated with confetti and streamers.
DD had such a wonderful time meeting Pooh and all the gang! Pooh is another one of her all time favorite's too!
The character interaction was great! DD was in heaven! I hope I don't bore you with all these photos, but I am having a hard time picking which one's to share! So I am sharing all of them!

I had made autograph cards for DD. Eeyore was quite impressed!

We were surprised when our server came out with a card signed by Pooh and the gang and a cupcake! DD was thrilled!

Next installment: Is the sun trying to come out, and, did we just see and talk to a celebrity?
