Magical Cupcakes

:thumbsup2 I love it!!

Can I also mourn the loss of the BW Bakery donuts? They had a cream filled one and every trip, first morning, I would get that and my DH would have a bowtie. I have yet to recover :sad2:

And I refuse to discuss what they did to me beloved schoolbread :guilty:

Go ahead mourn..........I'm wearing black!

Helloooo, someone answer please!! Is the schoolbread still there??

I think I saw some big cupcakes at the candy store on main street...I hope you are able to keep up your cupcake breakfast on your trip! I think it is cute that thats what your family does, and it is VERY rude for someone to comment on your so called bad choice for breakfast! YOUR ON VACATION FOR HEAVENS SAKE!! :yay:

I believe school bread is still around, but now the icing is brown instead of white. I haven't had one since the change, but the pictures do not look as appetizing. I'll try one when I am there next month, so I hope it is just as good.

As a mother, I think it is fine to let your children do something different on special occasions. We have had breakfast at Staring Rolls at Disney Studios the last couple trips and I am remembering one child with a cupcake and one with a cookie. We don't do that everyday, but it is something special that I will remember. I still remember my mother letting me eat cold pumpkin pie for breakfast the day after Thanksgiving.

Ironic... Disneyland just opened an on-site bakery SPECIFICALLY to widen the variety of goods available, yet WDW is outsourcing and cutting things left and right...

:banana:Thank you:banana:

I love cupcakes! Never had one at the Main Street Bakery before - are they the same ones as the cupcakes they have in CS locations in the resorts? I remember at Capt. Cooks in the Poly, they had big chocolate and vanilla cupcakes.

When I'm at home, I'll go to a cupcake bakery near my house every so often and get a 1/2 dozen. Let's just say, I'm not very good at sharing :)

Some of you have made mention of cupcakes at other locations around the WDW resorts. Areas of mention have been the WL, CB, Goofy Candy and the candy store on mainstreet. As much of these locations as been offered I am going to have to do some research in reference to the areas that sell them. As a DVC member I stay at the WL, so I can definetly speak for the Roaring Forks restaurant that sells them. They are good cupcakes, but do not come close to the Mainstreet bakery. While the WL cupcake is just as big, round, yummy; they put colored sprinkles on top of it. I tend to like the full amount of yellow icing normally found on top. Yum!

I'm not such an obsessive, compulsive sugar eater; but when you toy with something I like then it becomes a mission to find. All of you out there when I visit do not think I won't be searching for items as listed on this thread to see if it might have been changed to another location. Should I find it, I shall add more to this page.

I can understand.

Vacation is the only time that we eat all kinds of junk at any time of day.:thumbsup2

In fact, our last trip, I think we had huge waffle cones filled to the brim with ice cream at least twice for breakfast. My kids thought I had lost my mind...but that's one of the big things they remember about being in WDW.:lovestruc

First the french toast loaf, now the cupcakes....what is becoming of the Main Street Bakery??? I hope they still have the Mickey Bundt Cakes. My youngest DS has been known to have one of those for breakfast once or twice ;)

It's official and has been confirmed! My source has just visited MK, walked directly to the Mainstreet Bakery to verify whether or not the magical cupcakes as so many has stated was there........is not! Much to my dismay and disappointment I won't be able to find my beloved cupcakes. I know that my source was in search mode and most defenetly in sugar mode as well. Guess she is going to have be in sugar withdrawl!

Now I must be patient as I will be at WDW in 12 days and counting for my summer vacation. Where oh where can I find some cupcaKes to eat!?

Has anyone spotting some? They are very large, round, full of some magical, colored icing and just pure yummy! Remember they are not the food of champions, but since they are round, served on a round plate it counts for
"0" calories! :rotfl:

We will be in the world this Wednesday and will look. I actually head for the bakery on Main Streeet and have the big choc chip ice cream sandwich...breakfast of champions.:thumbsup2 I am very health conscious but when on vacation I splurge..:banana: I figure will the many miles I walk in the parks I need that sugar rush.

Oh dear this is just awful news. Please post any sitings of those sweet vanilla beauties here so that we can all swoop in to purchase every last one and let the Disney bakers know that we just can't live without these sweet cupcakes. ;)

For those who asked about the school bread -- when I was there last fall, they were about 1/2 to 1/3 of the size they used to be, it had a brown icing on it and toasted coconut. It also only had about a tablespoon of filling in it.

RIP school bread, we hardly knew ye.

As far as the cupcake for breakfast debate, other than the icing they have pretty much the same ingredients in them that pancakes have. Great, now I'm craving a cupcake for breakfast tomorrow morning.

What ...I love those! I hope they haven't gotten rid of the ones at the BW Bakery as well:confused3

We do the SAME EXACT THING.. my dad and brother get the cinni-bun, my mom gets the carrot cake and I get a cheese danish - last year there were no cheese danishes :(

When we had breakfast at the Main Street Bakery in April, there was a CM standing outside handing out sheets with pictures of the available baked goods. :confused3 I glanced at it briefly, handed it back and proceeded inside to get one of the cinnamon rolls. Man, those baby's are delicious and huge! :cloud9:

DD7 was allowed to choose her own breakfast - she asked for one of the individual bowls of Fruit Loops. We don't get them here in Scotland, so for her, this was a treat. :cutie:

There was a little boy sitting at the table next to us with a cookie the size of a pizza. DD was in awe! :worship: Long live novelty breakfasts while on vacation! :hippie:

Darn! Now I have to subscribe. You guys are too funny! We don't have any family traditions like that, but I DO have a BIL who makes the Main Street Bakery his morning stop. In fact, he has been known to travel to MK just to get his cinnamon bun, and then travel back to (at the time) WL.

No Joke as we all take these breakfast of champions serious! :thumbsup2 Personally, I just can't help myself and I too would travel just to get breakfast only........CUPCAKES......YUMMY!!!! In fact, when I spoke to a guest correspondance agent at Disney a month ago I said how disappointed I was that the magical cupcakes where retired. She was :scared1:. So not only are we as the guests affected by this disparture, but cast members are also feeling the pain!
