Magical Cupcakes

Has anyone had the big cupcakes at CR resort? Any member mentioned they were very big & good

I believe school bread is still around, but now the icing is brown instead of white. I haven't had one since the change, but the pictures do not look as appetizing. I'll try one when I am there next month, so I hope it is just as good.

As a mother, I think it is fine to let your children do something different on special occasions. We have had breakfast at Staring Rolls at Disney Studios the last couple trips and I am remembering one child with a cupcake and one with a cookie. We don't do that everyday, but it is something special that I will remember. I still remember my mother letting me eat cold pumpkin pie for breakfast the day after Thanksgiving.

I've had the old and new schoolbread. There is a significant difference in the size and taste. The old one was quite large and barely fit on the plate. It had a white vanilla-flavored icing. The new one is much smaller (probably about half the size of the original) and has a chocolate icing. They also toast the coconut on top now. I think it's a terrible change. One thing to note, though, is that the new version does cost less than the original.

We felt the same when we learned last week that the frozen coke machine has been taken out of POP.

I was really bummed when I found that out. That was the only reason we were planning to stay at pop again. I love frozen drinks so to be able to get one everyday while on vacation was great! Especially since you could get them in the refillable mugs. :drinking1

To the Op Hopefully you will be able to get your cupcakes the candy shop. Even though you won't be getting them at the bakery you will still be able to get them in the MK. :goodvibes

I have never had the cupcakes at the bakery but I have had them at POP and SSR and they were the same at those two locations. Very large, tons of icing, and oooooooh so good.

The only food obsession I have at WDW is that I must get a pretzel from the stand at Germany. The best pretzels on property. Not sure why they are different in Germany from everywhere else, but they are sooo good.

Last time I was at Pop (Dec 2006), they had a yummy devils food cupcake w/ white icing. It was huge!!! I hope it's still there for my Sept 09 stay.

It's official and has been confirmed! My source has just visited MK, walked directly to the Mainstreet Bakery to verify whether or not the magical cupcakes as so many has stated was there........is not! Much to my dismay and disappointment I won't be able to find my beloved cupcakes. I know that my source was in search mode and most defenetly in sugar mode as well. Guess she is going to have be in sugar withdrawl!

Now I must be patient as I will be at WDW in 12 days and counting for my summer vacation. Where oh where can I find some cupcaKes to eat!?

Has anyone spotting some? They are very large, round, full of some magical, colored icing and just pure yummy! Remember they are not the food of champions, but since they are round, served on a round plate it counts for
"0" calories! :rotfl:

To all my thread seekers who have posted.......I've made a mistake what I meant to say is that my source went directly to the Mainstreet Candy Store aka Confectioners. This was where so many of you had stated that you saw my beloved yummy treats. I already knew that they were no longer being served at the bakery. YOU SEE I am having such withdrawels that I can't even concentrate on what I am trying to express to my DISboards buddies!

Once I realized that I made my error I went back to correct, but it was too late. Forgive me everyone!

Since my source at WDW is taking the parks by storm; yesterdays phone call regarding the missing cupcakes weren't found at the confectioners. This is a sad moment in history.:sad1: Guess you could say I was just basically going to give up!

Today while my source was making the round again at the MK i got an interesting phone call. I was to figure out where my sources were at in the MK. Okay, so I figured they were at the Teacups....more then likely getting sick from spinning around, then at Buzz Lightyear being blasted into Infinity and Beyond, then sailing around It's a Small World after all till I had to figure out the one place I never visit cause my children are much larger now. Can you guess it? Well, it was Toontown and in the little area that serves food/drinks, tucked away behind whatever is the ever, most wished for item this thread has been salivating for............MY BELOVED MAGICAL CUPCAKES!!!!!! :cake: I can't believe it! There they are! Not so big as am told, but full of the wonderful layers of icing.....Blue, Pink and purple! YIPPEE!!!! :yay::woohoo::banana::cool1::dance3::cheer2:

Isn't this wonderful?! My mission for my source should she have choosen to accept it has paid off and that I am most grateful for! I had to share with my friends who have been so supportive of my thread and I thank you for all your interest. So in two weeks I shall be enjoying my beloved baked goods!

Anyone remember the Sticky Mickey from the Concourse Steakhouse Breakfast menu? The BEST darn (and HUGE) cinnamon roll/bun that I have ever had. I really do miss it.
Also: the last time we stayed at PORS, they did not have choc.chip pancakes! We looked at POFQ for them as well and they did not have them.
We really miss those too. Anyone know if they still have them at any of the other resort food courts?

I think I have become OCD! :lmao: Yes, I have driven others to search out my cupcakes, but now comes yet another citing of :cake:. Yahoo!!! YIPPEE!!! :woohoo: For those of you on the prawl they have just been found at Downtown Disney too! Although, this isn't a spot I normally go during my vacation. We normally do DTD at the end of our trip.........guess I'll be taken some home with me! :rotfl:
