Magical Cupcakes

Is there any difference between a cupcake and those grotesque frosted donuts that so many people seem to enjoy? Personally, i wouldn't eat either for breakfast. But if I'm on vacation and my kids wanted them for breakfast, I say go right ahead!

I agree those donuts are just as bad if not worse and I can't comprehend how people eat them period. See I don't see a vacation a good reason to eat that junk, especially for the most important meal of the day.

I thought you said you weren't judging

You don't need to roll your eyes............I am not judging, I am stating my opinion, how about you re-read what I wrote!

You know, I NEVER write anything negative on here, but I just took your posts as this sort of 'on my high horse' type of attitude and I didn't understand why you had to refer to things as 'junk' and talk about how you can't comprehend how people can eat it. I am a healthy eater too, but geesh, just let people enjoy a fun thread about cupcakes and keep your opinions about whether it's right or wrong to yourself. I believe the OP asked if the cupcakes were still available, not for us to share our opinions on their family's eating habits :thumbsup2

Whatever but honestly I really did think the OP was kidding that he/she ate cupcakes for breakfast. I am truly shocked at that and I am not on a high horse. I will let my dd eat a cupcake as a treat (not at breakfast) but I have never heard of anyone eating it for breakfast. That's all, that was what my original post was about. End of story!

Quick question re: McD's and WDW-What do they now serve at the Refreshment Port located near Canada in WS? According to allearsnet.com (3/09) everything there is still Mc.... Can anyone verify this? TIA

No...it's not there. They just serve regular quick service nuggetts. No McDonalds. We were there the first week of April.

My favorite Disney Cupcake Moment occurred years ago, after dinner. I sent half of our group to one restaurant for dinner, and took my nephews to a different restaurant. After dinner, I took my nephews to the bakery in The Land at EPCOT. They got the biggest cupcakes any of us had ever seen. I have a great picture of them with frosting smeared all over their faces. One of them looked thrilled, and the other looked shocked that he was being allowed such a treat. Their parents would have been horrified, because they didn't want the kids to eat a lot of sugar. But hey, that's what Aunts are for...

Since I am the OP who started this fine thread I believe I should comment here. First, thank you to those who don't judge me for my traditional breakfast of champions when I vacation at WDW. Second, it's okay as a health nut whether you agree or disagree with my beliefs. I am an adult, as an adult I make the decisions that comfort me and my children. Sure on a daily basis I do not allow my kids to eat donuts, cookies or such for breakfast. But, hey, we are on vacation. It is a time to let loose, have some fun. Now do I go to the MK every day expecting to eat a cupcake each morning? NO! This is just a tradition that has been installed into MY family for that first visit into the park. So go ahead make your comments all I can say is this "sticks and stones might break my bones, but your comments will never hurt me!"

To those of you who have given your personal insights into your own personal favorite dismissals of foods at WDW......Thank you! Each one of us who visits knows the joys of certain items found THROUGH OUT the entire resort. From those who miss the McFries, French Toast Loaf, Frozen Coke Machines and other items whether served in a restaurant or shop they are items that brought together cherished memories. I applaud you all who have given insight on my thread to those wonderful events that included FOOD!

I felt the SAME way when I found out they also got rid of the French Toast Loaf :sad2:

Whoa Whoa Whoa....

They did what, now?

Got rid of the FRENCH TOAST LOAF??

When??!!!

First Beaver Tails (the most divine bits of pastry EVER, over in the Canada pavillion at Epcot).

Now the French Toast Loaf??!!!

The cupcake loss is bad....but I can live with it But the French Toast Loaf was, along with Dole Whips, Turkey Legs, Funnel cakes (why do they always taste better at Disney/MK?) were family snack "sharing" staples!

What is happening at POP? No frozen coke machine and I saw on allears that there's no more breakfast pizza? Anyone been there to verify? I adore that breakfast pizza and had it like, 8 mornings out of my last trip! So bummed! And I agree, those cupcakes were to die for! Mmmm. This is distressing! :sad2:

Too bad since using a CS credit here was a great deal! Large McNuggets (9), Large Fries, Large Soda, & McFlurry for dessert. :confused3

OP, I am with you 100% on what you eat on vacation is completely different from what you serve at home. At home my DD9 has oatmeal (5 min, not instant) or Cream of Wheat, or dry cereal and some fruit. At WDW many times her breakfast consists of poptarts, or even more recently bagels. The same goes for my DM and myself-when we are at WDW on the DDP we have dessert with every lunch and dinner. At home, rarely out and only sometimes at home. Hey, what else is a vacation for if not to do things differently? Oh, and personally, I don't see much of a difference between a cupcake and say a danish or pastry for breakfast. And what about those mocha, frappaccino, iced coffees, etc. that so many drink everyday without thinking about the calories and fat grams? I am constantly amazed at how many young teenages in our area go to Starbucks for their daily fix. :scared1:

You go mom :cool1: Hope they bring back the cupcakes before your trip. If not, you'll have to start a new tradition. Personally I think even ice cream is fine for breakfast while on vacation. At least it's diary!:rotfl:

Let' say this about my cupcake! Ready, this is my version of eating a cupcake. A cupcake consists of eggs, milk which make up my breakfast variety meal, then add in the little sugar and flour which will then make up for my starch exchange. So with that it comes out round which makes up for "0" calories AND if we were to stand up eating it then it is considered minus calories. :rotfl:

:cake::cake::cake:Okay, so I got a call today from Guest Relations at WDW regarding another issue regarding our recent trip to WDW. While i was speaking to her I made the comment about how there was no more cupcakes being served at the bakery on Main street. :chat: At that moment she actually freaked out :scared1: on me. She thought I might be goofing around, but I wasn't. As you know I am very disappointed about this entire cupcake thing. My love for those truely scrumptous baked goods is a big lost in my book. :lovestruc When this woman heard about this she made it her misson to contact the food & beverage department to see if it was true.:chat: I know some of you don't see the real importance of this issue, but she just clarified how important it really is.:cheer2:

I am hoping that with this phone call she is able to bring back my beloved cupcakes.:cake::cake::cake:

:thumbsup2 I love it!!

Can I also mourn the loss of the BW Bakery donuts? They had a cream filled one and every trip, first morning, I would get that and my DH would have a bowtie. I have yet to recover :sad2:

And I refuse to discuss what they did to me beloved schoolbread :guilty:

Now Pumba.
Do not tell me they discontinued the school bread, also.
