what a waste of time. Get up extra early and get to the park for 8:00am and more than half the park does not open. Only tomorrow's and and fantasyland is opened. Jungle cruise, Pirates, big thunder mountain, haunted mansion all closed. And of course 7 dwarves mine train in a 45 minute wait by 8:10. I should have stayed in bed.

Tomorrowland and Fantasyland attractions, for years, have been the only open areas at MK AM EMH.
So, we plan to ride the attractions of Tomorrowland and Fantasyland, and have a BLAST.

We have been attending and enjoying AM EMH at MK (and the other three parks) for years.

The beauty of it is that with so many people headed to 7DMT and A/E, I bet you have your pick of everything else.

OP, sorry you didn't realize it's just TL and FL open. It's been that way for years.

huh. . . been like that forever. . . we always take advantage of it and crush the rides in those areas to save our fast passed for the other popular rides later in the morning so we are out of the park before it gets nuts with people spending the whole day there. i'm in the pool by noon relaxing while people are sweating it out.

dwarf mine is a tough one at rope drop. if you know the path to get there the quickest we have only waited 15 mins tops.

deff stay in bed if you didn't think it was worth it. . . less people for me to deal with.

i personally think the emh is great.

jinm

I loved the EMH at MK during Christmas week. Got there at 7AM, did lots of attractions before an early lunch at BOG (10:30), and then our FP kicked in after lunch when crowds were very heavy.

I think the key is to do non-top tier rides during EMH, then schedule the top choices for FP later when it's busier.

I've never been to AM EMH at MK, either and would have also assumed the entire park would be open at that time. Sorry you were disappointed. :flower1:

You can sleep in tomorrow. ;)

It has not been like that forever I remember hitting btmrr, Pirates splash and space all during morning emh

Not for AM EMH.
Back when WDW offered "Extra Morning Hours" (pre-dating EMH) that might have been the case.

Also, a few years ago when Space Mtn and TTA were being refurbished, Tomorrowland was temporarily dropped from AM EMH and Splash Mtn. (maybe BTM) and Haunted Mansion were subbed.

OP just a heads up all the disney parks have only select attractions open during Morning EMH so might want to check that out if you plan to hit any other parks early.

EMH, despite your experience, is still hands down one of the best ways to knock out some headline attractions without much wait. 7 Dwarfs will be busy, sure, but it's still easier to ride early than waiting for 2 hours during the day. Plus, by the time EMH is over, you've done Tomorrowland and some of Fantasyland, allowing you to hit the rest of the park. And you'll still have little wait for the rest of the attractions once the full park opens. I'm sorry you weren't aware of how it worked, but nobody will ever convince me that EMH is a waste.

Our next trip may be the first time we hit a morning EMH at Magic Kingdom. We can do those 2 lands and then be ahead of the crowd with our FPs set for a second park.

Exactly. Even if there are still lines during EMH, it's almost guaranteed to be shorter than any other time of the day. And not everyone that can utilize EMH does so. It's just such an advantage over everyone else that it feels like a crime to not go.

Totally disagree with this.

EMH are one of the best times to be in the parks and we always do them on our trips as the crowds are low and we can hit rides multiple times.......we are a RD family anyways so anytime we can get into a park even earlier we take advantage of it.

I am personally looking forward to the AM EMH .. IF I can get my family up and rolling out of the hotel around 7:00 AM. It's a nice perk I am looking forward to.
I already looked up what rides would be open .. and that seems like enough .. anything else and you'd be trying to sprint from one end of the park to the other.

My question is ..
What do people suggest to hit during the morning EMH at MK? (I have a trip coming up in 4 months where we plan on hitting the AM EMH)
What to have fast passed for as early as possible after the normal hours start?

Especially if you have a 3 year old in tow (that we would have to rider swap for the big rides like Space Mountain and Seven Dwarves) ... and who also may not be able to make the "sprint" as fast as needed.

So is it easier to hit some smaller, (yet popular) headline rides like Buzz, Peter Pan, Little Mermaid and save early morning Fast Passes for 7DMT (if available)?
Or try and sprint to 7 Dwarves (with everyone else) and get the rider swap?
Is Storybook Circus open during EMH? (Is that considered separate area from FantasyLand?

Just trying to plan out my day (late August) with what to Fast Pass and what to try and hit in the early morning hours.
(I figure one of my Fast Passes should be going for Splash Mountain on a hot day! That line is always long .. even on cooler fall days)

We haven't actually done EMH since 1998 when it was $10/person and you got a wrist band. It was an evening and the rain that January night made MK a ghost town.

Ah, but that was not EMH.

That was "E-Ride Nights."
Yes, it was only at MK and only on selected nights.

I absolutely love EMH - morning and night. I just can't agree, OP. It's not like this info isn't widely available through a .5 second Google search. I'm sorry you were disappointed but it really could've been avoided with a few minutes of searching. Having Fantasyland open early is great, you can really knock out so much!!
