Hi, I have some family members that want to join us during our week in Disney but they can only do one day. How does it work for them? Purchase tix online and set up an MDE account? What about fast passes? They won't have Magic Bands so where are there fast passes?

Thanks!

They can buy 1 day tickets and set up their MDE and Fastpasses at 30 days out (assuming they are not staying at Disney for the one day). They can do this even with will-call tickets, which they will then pick up when they arrive at Guest Services or any ticket window. They will be given a plastic card that works the same as a Magic Band for park entry and FastPass purposes (the only difference is the MBs have long range chips for ride photos and such; they can tap at the end for ride photos should they want them on their PhotoPass account). They'll be all set.

They will purchase single day MK tickets.
Their plastic ticket media will be what they use for their FP
They can purchase them in advance and you can try to coordinate your FP with them. Add them to your MDE if possible, and try to copy your existing FP to them.
As for purchasing tickets, single day are not discounted anywhere so they should purchase from Disney

Like the above posters said, if they buy them in advance, you can book FP's for them. They would need a MDE account & you could request to be Friends with each other. Once you're Friends with them they will show up when you're booking FP's and you can choose them.
FP's are limited to the length of their ticket, so you would only be able to choose one day. Of course you can delete their FP's and make them for a different day if their plans were to change.

Actually, they only need the confirmation number to link the tickets in MDE and set up FP.
OP wanted to know what they used in the Parks to use their FP if they had no MB. That is why I said they would use their ticket media
If they opt to purchase in advance yes, the number can be used to book FP.
They will still need the actual ticket if they do not have MB

ok, they just told me they purchased their tix online and set up a MDE account. So, now they make fast passes.....how are there fast passes linked then since they are getting their tix in the mail??

Ahh, I just got it. You meant for the FP lines and I was thinking setting up FP.

If they bought them from Disney they should link to their MDE account automatically. If they don't have them call Disney and get them to link the tickets to their account.

thanks, their cards are being mailed to them and they made their fast passes last night. So, then they will be linked to the cards right?

Sort of. Technically, the cards will be linked to them and will access whatever info is in their MDE account. Which includes accessing their FP
