Magic Kingdom After Hours coming back (DAH); Reviews: Page 18 >>

Do they close the parks early to do this? If so, no way I'd ever do it. Basically paying Disney to throw paying costumers out early. JMO
My sister was there for the Christmas event. Bad enough that the park closes early for that too, but they had a huge section (including part of Main Street) closed off to Film something. I know many will disagree with me. That's ok. I've always loved going to Disney. In fact, I plan it all year, every year. (My summer trip.) I'm considering Univeral instead. I'm tired of paying more to get less:(

No, this has already been covered quite a bit in this thread. Have you read previous posts?

No all...this thread is 34 pages.
Glad to hear that though because I really am opposed to the closing early so people have to pay to get back in for certain things. Especially with all the unused, available space they have.

It is called "Disney After Hours" because it is after hours, meaning after closing!

My After Hours tix are linked to my reservation, but it doesn't show up as being able to make FP selections for that date. Bummer!
Do you already have FP for the same day with a regular ticket? If so that is why you can't make them with the after hours ticket. Disney only allows 3 FP to be scheduled per person per day on MDE regardless of how many tickets you have assigned to you.

After reading more about this and seeing people's pics, I think we are closer to going for it on March 2nd while we're there. I wonder if we should get tickets now or wait until we get there. Also, I haven't read every page of this thread - any word if they are still selling tickets for half price at times like they did last year?
When they announced DAH this time they immediately offered a AP/DVC discount off the regular price but it was less discounted than last time. I think I saw it was $89 vs the $119 regular price. Last year the regular price was $150 and after the first event not selling well (and giving a lot of tickets away) they offered the $75 price to AP/DVC

Thanks - after I wrote that I went back and read every post, then booked my ticket and got my parents to book theirs! I was so excited last night I could barely sleep!! :) We had already planned to spend the day in MK and have our fp's booked, meal, etc. It worked out perfectly!

On Mine Train they will probably have the barrier dropped between the entrance and exit queues, so you can just turn left as you exit and get right back in line. We walked all the way to the front once until we realized that we could just basically "jump the rope" (the rope was down to facilitate this) and immediately go back into the ride line. We only waited once when they pulled a car and had a slight back up in time.

Any recommendations on cool, interactive queue's that we shouldn't miss? I've only been to Disney once as an adult in 2015. My husband and I will be there on 3/9 and I am sooooo excited! I've heard people reference SDMT, Pan, and Pooh, but I'm wondering if there are others. We've only done these with FPs. Looking forward to seeing what all of the hype is about without having to wait through those dreaded lines!

I don't have a reading comprehension problem and certainly didn't need that spelled out for me, thanks anyway. My question was not, "is it after closing", it was "do they close early for this event?"

For our trip last week, no they did not close early for this event. Before the event was even announced, MK was always scheduled to close at 8 PM Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The DAH event was on Thursday from 8-11 PM.

No, they do not close early because as it says, it is after hours, as in after closing. The paying "costumers" as you said can stay until closing but then aren't allowed on the rides. Just in case that part wasn't clear. LOL!!

Clearly one of us have a comprehension problem (and a bad attitude), but it's not me. I'll leave it at that. Have a magical day.

Disney doesn't close early for events like this, Halloween Party or Christmas Party or Private events.

They don't take away hours. They don't close early except for hurricanes.

Disney has no set hours. Your ticket is good for the posted hours and they are posted 6 mos in advance.

Right now hours are posted into August. All you will see happen will be hours added to the day if they anticipate bigger crowds.

If a guest chooses to go to a park when the hours are not as long as they are some other nights, that is on the guest.

No, they are not taking park hours away from anyone else. They are doing it after the regularly scheduled closing hours.

Ehhh . . . . . . . . . .

I think you could argue that on party nights, MK closing times are abnormally early.

On the other hand, those those hours are also announced well in advance.

Depends on how one wishes to interpret "early".
