Magic Kingdom After Hours coming back (DAH); Reviews: Page 18 >>

Thanks so much! I didn't know you get FastPasses with AfterHours! The website says you can't get in until 7 pm for After Hours. Is that correct?
You can enter at 4:00p.

Book FPs for 3:30, 4:30, and 5:30.

We will be there as well, I'm so excited for this!!! I'm trying to not get my hopes up too high though, in my head I keep seeing people's pictures with an essentially empty main street, I'm not expecting it to be quite THAT dead.
It will be just as empty as the photos you see make it seem

But was Splash Mtn open? I don't care how cold it might be at night, it would break my heart to go and not get to ride Splash 4-5 times.
It was in the low 50's on our night and Splash was open. Not a single log went down with anyone in it mind you, we stood there and watched several times to see if anyone would brave it. They didn't but it was running

How do you find this on the main WDW website? I used to be able to do a search for Disney After Hours, but it's not coming up under those search words anymore. What link are you using to see the dates available for this? Thanks. :)
I find it by searching for After Hours. Comes up every time

My After Hours tix are linked to my reservation, but it doesn't show up as being able to make FP selections for that date. Bummer!

Sissies, I tell ya', sissies!!! :)

Back in the day we did e-ride night on a chilly February night. Sometime around midnight we did Splash Mtn six times without getting off. By then, yeah, we were pretty cold but it was the highlight of the trip. I so hope DAH is going to be offered the last week of April AND that Splash is running.

We were told by the CM that we purchased the tickets from that they let you come in starting at 4pm. So you can have even longer to hit some of the less popular rides and save the big ones for when the park is closed.

I have to admit, it would be nice to have my expectations at Disney surpassed rather than knocked down another peg. It would be the first time in quite a few years that that has happened, LOL.

That's too bad if true. :( I feel like I've had my expectations met and surpassed a ton in recent years... just not by the Jungle Book show... ;)

Has anyone heard any speculation about this being continued? I am trying to plan for May and this is at the top of our to do list if it's offered. I'm planning to make the Thursday we are there our sleep in day just in case. So hoping for this to continue!

I sent Disney a message asking if it will be continued into the summer months. They probably wont know but oh well doesn't hurt to ask.

After reading more about this and seeing people's pics, I think we are closer to going for it on March 2nd while we're there. I wonder if we should get tickets now or wait until we get there. Also, I haven't read every page of this thread - any word if they are still selling tickets for half price at times like they did last year?

We just did this last Thursday, and it was absolutely amazing! I would do it again with no hesitation.

We rode Tomorrowland Speedway, Buzz Lightyear X2, Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Magic Carpets, Peter Pan's Flight, Mad Tea Party, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train X10 (no exaggeration - I counted my Photopass photos!). My kids (5 and 7) loved the Mine Train, so after we rode the other rides, we just rode it over and over again until 11 PM.

When we were coming home, I asked the kids what their favorite thing we did at Disney, and they both said the After Hours event (and this is even with them doing the Star Wars dessert party and Jedi Training)!

I hardly took any photos (which I regret now!) because we were too busy riding, but this is my favorite.

Okay, I'm thinking with all of these rave reviews and looking back through these pages of comments and seeing how many people are buying tickets for 3/2, I'm just going to go ahead and buy mine! I have $150 in Disney gift cards and Disney Visa Redemption dollars - hope they will take those as payment! I was going to use them for a couple of small souvenirs and some food at the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival food booths, but this sounds just as good if not better! :thumbsup2

We paid part of our tickets for 3/2 with Disney visa rewards. It got a little glitchy on me and I had to try a couple times, but it finally worked.

We just went on 2/9 and it was the best decision I could have made! We love the magic kingdom at night. Got in around 5, had fast passes for 2 rides, watched wishes then started with walk-on space mountain x 2. Everything was a walk on. Disappointed that mine train was not running, was supposed to be. Ate plenty of ice cream, pop corn, and drinks. This was our only Disney experience this trip (universal annual pass holders), and it was the perfect way to get a lot done in a short time! I forgot how to post pics here but mine look just like everyone else's-an empty park!

Just bought mine using one gift card and some of my Disney visa reward dollars! :cheer2:  < That's a tasty frozen banana dancing! :rotfl:

What do people recommend as an itinerary for After hours? Is it as someone did above and start at Adventureland? . . . . . . Anything that we won't be able to ride?
My recommendation is right at regular closing time, go to an attraction that is likely to have no crowd, but one you want to do - maybe Philharmagic, followed by Small World. That will give time for the other queues to empty from the regular guests. After that, pretty much do what you want. Maybe start with the stuff you really want, like Big Thunder, then Splash, and then Mine Train. (That queue might take a bit longer to clear out, so perhaps wait a bit longer.) When I went, I was literally standing at the gate for the next train, when the ride went down for the night - you never know! So if you want to be sure you get on Mine Train, do it sooner rather than later. You can always come back if you have to.

A popular approach seems to be to head to the Hub for photos in the final half hour.

Do they close the parks early to do this? If so, no way I'd ever do it. Basically paying Disney to throw paying costumers out early. JMO
My sister was there for the Christmas event. Bad enough that the park closes early for that too, but they had a huge section (including part of Main Street) closed off to Film something. I know many will disagree with me. That's ok. I've always loved going to Disney. In fact, I plan it all year, every year. (My summer trip.) I'm considering Univeral instead. I'm tired of paying more to get less:(
