Magic Head Servers?

Who have you had as your head server? What rotation were you on? Which seating did you have?


The purpose of this thread is to find out who will most likely on my cruise in January. I keep hearing of a PJ on the magic in recent trip reports. Was he once on the Wonder?

The clues provided by you past sailors, may provide the answers.

Maclean is, in my opinion, the best head server on the Magic. He is charming, attentive, personable and well liked by both his staff and his guests.

Gaspare is also another fantastic head server.

I choose my servers and go with whatever rotation they are on. For our family, the servers have become "family" to us and we enjoy their company so much that we want them when we cruise.

The only dining room I don't care for is Animator's Palate since it has low ceilings and no windows - menu wise - I have had enough cruises to have tried everything on every menu at least once and do have some favorite items but rotation has nothing to do with it.

Again, my vote is for Maclean and Gaspare!

We also had Gaspare and he was fantastic. On one night our servers were overloaded and Gaspare jumped right in to help them. He was very personable and had fun with my parents when he served them their 40th Anniversary cake.

On our previous two cruises (3-day and 4-day) the head servers didn't seem to do much. Gaspare was terrific and definitely made himself a part of our dining experience.

We were on the 11/1 Magic and had PJ as our head server. We were early seating PLA. He was much different than our first head server who was really bad. He stopped by every night with a huge smile and couldn't help but brighten your day. We also had Manuel and Noel as server and asst. server. They were wonderful. After having a bad dining experience with the servers the first cruise it was so nice to have a great dining experience like so many on the board have talked about.

Let's see...we've had Christophe and Suzanne from France, Michael from Sweden...sorry, I'm not going to be any good with dates or rotations as we've had so many.

DD likes Christophe because he speaks French with her, and Suzanne helped her arrange a special surprise for a friend...and Michael just because someone referred to him as "that cute boy in Sessions," which has been his title ever since.

Now that is exactly what makes these head servers great - they not only take care of their guests, but their servers/assistant servers as well.

Gaspare is quite funny also - but what else does one expect from a Sicilian!!!!!

yes pj was from the wonder, transferred to magic in august or september, i had steven from france he was great, also sid is fantastic from the wonder

I had Christophe the first time -- he was just wonderful and a sweetheart. Greeted us by name every night, and always checked on us throughout the meal. I can't even remember who the head server was last time... he must not have made a big impression on me, I guess.

We have had Sam from England and Alan from Croatia - both are great. In fact, Alan was our server on our first cruise in '99 and it's been hard for anyone to live up to standards. Sam used to work at the Rose & Crown in Epcot and I remember him from there. Both are wonderful and magical.

On the 11/15 Eastern we had APL rotation with Nadege from France as our head server. She came by the first night and talk to us and gave the kids their Captain Mickey trading cards. She was very personable and took care of a couple requests that we had when our servers were not right there. Our server was Rudy, who is home for the holidays in South Africa now, and assistant Bayoki. She was a joy with us and they both doted on the kids. If we could arrange it next time we cruise, we would want the same team taking care of us.

As the OP stated, the main interest was to figure out if PJ was the wonderful Head server from the Wonder. Sweetspot and Bengals01 have confirmed this.

We are very happy. Althought if we get another HS then it sounds like there are some really good choices!
