Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) **** PART III ****

You guys rock!!! :thumbsup2

I keep telling Amy that we have plenty of time to have more... :rolleyes1

There are 2 other guys older then me (41) in the preschool pick up line.. :upsidedow

Wait til she reads this post.. :scared1:

Thanks. If you would have told me ten years ago that I would have two more boys at age 46, I would have burst out laughing. The plan was to have them young and have them all out of the house while we were still in our 40s. But plans have a funny way of changing. Although I shake my head some days thinking how much quieter our life would be, I would not change a thing.

The funny thing is how often people think I am the grandfather when they see one of my two older kids carry our youngest one. Apparently I am not aging as well as I think. :rotfl2:

LOL. You participated b/c you are in my list! We all said a little bit about ourselves. I just cut & pasted it into one document.

Ha ha! That figures I wouldn't even remember doing it! Did I mention I feel like I really need this vacation?! :lmao:

All classes are over for the semester, all I have left now is to give exams. Yea! And then grade them too, of course. Started getting DH's clothes out last night and am taking some of his shirts to the cleaners today.

One of DH's childhood friends passed away this morning from a brain tumor, he was only 44. Our son's are the same age and play ball together. Please pray for their family. Another reminder to live life to the fullest and love those around you.

Sorry to hear of DH's loss! It is always hard to loose a childhood friend - it makes you realize how fragile life can be! They will be in my prayers!

So sorry to hear about your friend.

Caryn

Thank you, Caryn He was a great friend and coach!

How's the weather in TN? It's freezing down here in Alabama! The high's Monday are in the 30's, and it snowed yesterday.

It is C H I L L Y  Had to defrost the car this AM for about 15 min before heading to DD5's school. Altering my packing a little ... layers and more socks! Several AL friends posted on FB about snow! Wow ...

My Mom passed after lung and brain tumors. I remember the struggle; is isn't usually a peaceful passing. I really for feel for your friend and all involved. I know it isn't easy.:grouphug:

I knew I forgot to do something..... Here's my ice breaker

I'm Lisa (46) and my husband is Drew (44) we have been happily married for almost 20 years now. We work together as real estate brokers on the east coast of Florida. We represent foreclosures (mostly Freddie Mac) in Indian River, Martin and St Lucie counties (otherwise known as the Treasure coast). We are avid investors ourselves and hope one day soon to become semi-retired. But until then we are workaholics. :surfweb: We have 3 amazing children, JoAnna (27) my blessing from my first marriage. She's a Disney fanatic! , Jason (18) (poor guy is smack in the middle of 2 demanding sisters) :rotfl: he'll make a good husband someday because of it, He plays Varsity Basketball, Varsity Golf and a fair amount of XBOX 360  and Jessi (15) she's the one that keeps me running all over the place and I'm in the process of teaching her how to drive. :scared1: She is a JV cheerleader, does competitive cheer, takes 3 dance classes and teaches 2, teaches the confirmation class at church and the youth group, She is currently taking piano lessons also and is getting pretty awesome. Hope she can play a few Christmas carols on the boat for us. :goodvibes

Because we work so much, we usually can only do the 3 night cruise unless one of us stays behind with the business. This will be our first long cruise/vacation with all 5 of us together in a really long time and it is most deserved.

We have had a very tough year. Earlier this year I had a very difficult full radical Hysterectomy which had me laid up for over 2 months. A month later JoAnna's brain swelled from an infection which caused her to have many life threatening seizures (code blues), kidney failure, lungs filled up with fluid, intubation, slipped into a coma for a week, ICU for 5 weeks, 4 surgeries, had to relearn how to walk etc. The doctors told me the prognosis was not good and to prepare myself for her not living through the night. Asking if she was an organ donor and if she had a directive. She was such a trooper and kept her smile the whole time. She has always been a blessing and even more so now. The day she was getting out of the hospital, her nurse rushed me down to the ER because she thought I was having a stroke. I was in for 3 days and it took 3 months for me to recover. In the old days they would have put me in a rest home :rotfl2:. Thank heavens my daughter is doing well and recovered :littleangel: but I am still traumatized from the whole event. The post traumatic stress is calmer now although it still shocks me when it pops up out of nowhere.
We are a very close knit family and that has been a blessing during this past year. My daughter and I had a Med cruise booked for May 15th and were not able to make it since we were still in the hospital. We did rebook at the last minute and my daughter and I were able to enjoy the Sept 2nd Med Disney cruise. We had an awesome time together. We enjoyed the company of all our Disboard friends and tablemates. We can't wait to make new friends on this cruise. We hope 2011 will be a better year. :cheer2::cheer2:

Given all the things that everyone has been through this year, this trip gives a brand new meaning to "R & R". It now stands for Recovery & Rejoice.

I can't think of a better way than spending time with loved ones on the Magic over the Christmas holidays.

Looking forward to meeting everyone and just having some fun.

Thanks for your ice breaker Lisa, glad you will have such a nice long vacation together!

I had a feeling this might prompt a few more ice breakers. (Yay!) I will continue to update the document probably through Monday and will resend to everyone on my list. The body of the email may or may not be fully updated so if you have trouble with the document let me know.

Starting our descent into Orlando!:cool1: pretty cool there's wifi on the plane makes you wonder you you can't use cell phones, other than they'll annoy the &$.,!?&$ out of your neighbor.

Had a horrible nightmare during one of my brief naps on the flight last night. Dreamed that we showed up at the port" but there had been some sort of problem with our cabin that they were unable to fix and didn't have any other cabins available, so we couldn't go!:scared1: you don't think that could actually happen do you???

No. It could not happen!:santa:

(poor guy is smack in the middle of 2 demanding sisters) :rotfl: he'll make a good husband someday because of it,

That's exactly what I tell my sons when their sister gives them the bidness...

Sorry to hear about your tough year. You deserve a nice break... and this cruise. Thanks for sharing.

Hope y'all don't mind me posting this. My artist friend (who does amazing mosaics--but it's hard to make a living from those big pieces) makes these. I know we have alot of Potter fans here so I thought I would post them. If anybody would like one for their children for Christmas, I could bring them with me on the boat. They are $25. She made one for my daughter and added all sorts of charms: owl, snitch, potion bottles, tiny books-it's amazing and we love it. But, I like to wear anything that makes racket :)
(If I shouldn't have done this, I truly apologize. I just like to help out local artists and I know there are Potter fans on here who might still be Christmas shopping)
