Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) **** PART III ****

NOPE, this many posts isn't really unusual.....some pre cruise groups are VERY chatty! Some are not. I still check in sometimes on a thread from several years ago, and we are still friends with people we have cruised with over th eyears!:grouphug:

:thumbsup2:)

Good morning everyone!

DD just woke me up about 30 minutes ago. One of the first things that popped into my head was that on the next Saturday we wake up, it will be to get ready to go over to the port! I can't believe this vacation is already here! For those of you who booked on opening day, I know it's been a very long wait...we only booked a couple months ago and sometimes it felt like it would never get here but now it feels like it's coming too fast! :rotfl: Soooo much left to do, though I do feel good about the progress I have made so far.

Tomorrow is DH's bday and his parents are coming to celebrate that and Christmas with us since we won't be here this year. Looking forward to it!

Have a great day and best wishes to everyone as you finish up your final preps and start traveling.

Kimberly

I was thinking exactly the same thing! It is hard to believe that the day we have all been waiting for is almost here!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:cool1::cool1::cool1:

We get on the Wonder tommorrow Podcast cruise) .... come home for a day and then board the Magic for the Christmas cruise...

We have essentially packed every suitcase we own as both cruises are now ready to go... While I am sure we have all of the fishextender stuff packed (have pity on the porters:scared1:) and the wine (might have overdone it here for the Christmas cruise)... but tablemates will get to taste some rare ports if they choose!

We have finished the seceret shopping for each other's stockings (a gift a day is the theme of this Christmas cruise)...

I think I need a vacation from vacation preparation:thumbsup2

Here is hopeing the cool weather goes away before we get underway (Orlando may get down to 29 Monday Night!) Bahamas are down to mid 50's Monday and Tuesday. Did you see that Cancun broke a 100 year record for coldest temperature yesterday?

At any rate, ready to be with all of the fun folks on this board and recharge the batteries (I am certain the Podcast Cruise will be more of a challenge than a chance to relax...so much going on :lmao:

Safe travels to everyone!

Due to DH's training schedule we had no choice but to fly out the morning of the 18th. We are scheduled to leave BOS at 6am and arrive in Orlando at 9:12am. However, looking at the 10 day forecast, they are predicting snow for Saturday the 18th :scared1:
My only hope is that the weather around here is so difficult to predict. So I am calling on the collective prayers that our flight will go on without an issue.

This far out the reports still change (and almost always do) so I know you and your lice-free family will get to the port, safe, sound and ready for fun.
I know it.

WOW!!! I can't believe we are only a week away from our cruise. I am so excited but also so stressed because I have so much left to do. I'm always so amazed at people that have everything packed and ready to go a week or more in advance. :confused3 I just can't do it.

I packed quite a bit yesterday but still feel like I have a lot left to do. I didn't want to take a suitcase for each of us but I don't see how I'm going to fit everything if I don't. So it looks like 4 suitcases, 1 rolling garment bag, and 1 bag for other things. Plus a carryon or two, a rolling cooler, etc.... It just seems like too much but I can't seem to help myself. HI my name is Gretchen and I'm a compulsive over packer!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Well back to packing and stressing.... I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone. This cruise should be a blast, there seems to be so many friendly, interesting, cool people to meet and have fun with. We are night owls and like to have fun, so we would love to get together with the group that wants to go to the clubs at night to dance and just have fun.:cool1::dance3: We did the scavenger hunt on our last cruise and it was a blast. Has anyone else done this? We will definetly do this again on this cruise... I hope they have one..or two.

Likewise....we are watching warnings of this major snowstorm coming through the midwest this weekend....I'm hopeful it passes and clears out by next week.

We are in the same situation: we both work until Friday evening, so we don't fly out until Saturday a.m.; Fortunately we fly right out from our local airport, so no LONG early morning drive. We'll all keep our fingers crossed!

Hi from Orlando!

We arrived yesterday evening and spent today at Downtown Disney, then relaxing at our villa. It was a lovely day weather wise and we even went for a swim. Ok we are British and will swim in most temps but it was pleasantly warm. Its lovely to be finally here and relaxing. The kids were so well behaved on the flight and all the travelling went really well. We are still adjusting to the time difference though.
Colette

Glad to hear everything went good on the flight over and the kids were good. Have a great time this week and we will see you next Saturday!

OH, WOW! you must be from somewhere near the Quad Cities!

We are originally from Rock Falls/Sterling area. We have lots of family still in the area. We love to use the Moline airport, so easy to get in and out of!

Connie and Chuck

We are about 2 hours northeast of the Quad Citites in north central Iowa. We love the Moline airport and fly out of there all the time. We have two other airports closer to us(1 smaller and 1 mid-size) but it always seems to be cheaper to fly out of the Quad Cities airport.

You are so right Kimberly! We booked on opening day and it has been a long wait but now it's only 1 week away! :yay::woohoo:

Can't wait to meet everyone next week!

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR GRADUATION!

Thanks, Connie!!! I am excited to graduate tonight but a little leery of taking pictures in the enormous/silly looking gown and tam. Because USF's colors are green and gold with a blue/green/gold hood, I look like a poofy Christmas tree! At least it's appropriate for this time of the year! :rotfl2:

Yep, we're one of those who booked on opening day and then kept it a secret from the kids until the 50-day mark. It's been two years of anticipation, and I can hardly believe that it's finally here! SOOOOOO exciting!!! :goodvibes

I will keep all of you who have to fly at the end of the week in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that everything works out so that we can meet up on Saturday! :thumbsup2

Also, I just realized that DH and I are booked for High Tea at 3pm on the 19th, which means we'll have to duck out of the meet/ornament exchange with enough time to get the kids to the clubs before our reservation. Maybe someone can leave our ornament in our FE afterwards? I don't mind taking the last one...I assume that everyone has snazzy tastes on this board. ;)

A little pixie dust pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust: for those flying out on Saturday. Hopefully the weather will co-operate for everyone.

We are trying to stave off a blizzard here in Iowa today. We have blizzard warnings out but so far it has been mostly rain. Temps are falling though so they expect snow to move in later this afternoon. I know our neighbors to the north in MN are getting hit hard again. Good luck everyone and stay safe!

I have lived in the north most of my life, but this storm is really impressive. I am going to have a hard time getting into a warm mindset to pack while I am sitting here in the kitchen in long underwear, grandma pants and a hat.:surfweb: Wish me luck as today is packing day! :cool1:

Looking out my front door 5 minutes ago. There is a step and a complete driveway as well as many bushes out there somewhere. They were there when we went to bed last night. :confused3

Heard snow for Nashville tomorrow

Getting really excited to see Santa in Downtown Disney. It has only been 10 months since our last visit, but I think DD will be a little more excited for the magic store than last time. Neat, neat place :cutie: Can't wait for Fulton's for dinner Thursday PM mmmmmmmmmm nom.

Packing is going well, but pre-trip suitcase for the three days prior is problematic. Just have to figure on layers and make sure we have hats and gloves.

Whoa!!! :scared1: Keep warm and head South!

Packed up the FE/Santa suitcase last night....I had to use the biggest suitcase we have (I hope it fits under the bed). My husband swears it weighs at least 80 lbs.....Now I'm hoping I can fit all my stuff in the Medium suitcase or I'll have to go buy another suit case. Getting so excited and praying for good/safe weather for all those flying Saturday morning!!!

Angie - WOW! I truly feel for you and hopefully when the wind picks up it will blow it through quickly so you won't get too much more. Just waiting to see what we get here. I'm hoping it keeps raining long enough that most of it will more through. Of course all the rain means wet, wet roads which could turn to ice over night.:scared1: I would rather have the snow then the ice.

Just keeping warm caribbean thoughts while I do some of my packing.:beach::sunny:

FE suitcase got to Mom & Dad's.

Thank goodness my parents live in Florida and are going on this cruise. I left my suitcase full of alcohol with them over Thanksgiving and I also sent my suitcase with FE gifts to them. They will bring them to the port for us. It's a good thing since the FE gifts turned out to be bigger and heavier then I orignally thought.

Alyssa and I went to see Narnia last night. It was really good. I hope they are playing it on the ship so I can see it again. It was late last night and I was tired so I know a few things past me by.
