That is exactly what we were joking about this morning at our house

Can we please get together a DISer Flash Mob group so we can break out in song or dance on Deck 9?
Well, the snow has hit us here in Iowa. It started about 11:30 and has been snowing pretty heavy ever since. I took Alyssa to her 2pm performance and the roads were pretty slick and snow covered so I don't know if they will cancel tonight's show or not. Of course there are some crazy people out on the roads so I'm all for staying in tonight and getting some packing done.
OK-- The wind is blustering (in fact snow isn't falling, it is swirling), we have had 6 more inches of snow since my morning report, DH has shoveled 3 times already today, and an avalanche of snow fell off of our roof shaking the house and scaring us half to death (it sounded like the roof was caving in). So glad this storm is here now, instead of next Thursday when we leave. Looks pretty boring here weather-wise by next week.
No room for Christmas Crackers - the airline says they can only go in luggage in the original, sealed box, so it's all 12 or none at all![]()
Thought of you today too Sarah, as some family members returned from visiting my great aunts and uncles in Skipton and Yorkshire earlier this fall and were sharing details of their trip. Both of my grandparents came from Yorkshire to Canada.
We also had to pass on Christmas crackers, I found some make your own that are flattened and you fasten the sides together and insert a small gift. I suggested buying something onboard and using these, as crackers are a tradition for us too. Unfortunatly I was vetoed and there will be no crackers unless I can find some in Target, which I highly doubt.![]()
This far out the reports still change (and almost always do) so I know you and your lice-free family will get to the port, safe, sound and ready for fun.
I know it.

Our helicopter made it out of Taji just before bad weather set in. Made it to Baghdad (Forward Operating Base Sather/Baghdad International Airport), but no flights to Kuwait tonight :-(
Now just wasting time until tomorrow afternoon's flight. At least there is a Green Bean Coffee here....white chocolate mocha=YUM!!
All in all, it will take me about 3 days to get back to the states, but it will be soooooo worth it when I'm sitting on the deck of the ship with a DOTD in my newly manicured hand!!
BTW.....GO ARMY, BEAT NAVY!!!
Since this is our first Disney cruise I have a question......I've noticed some of you mention your hopes for an upgrade at the port....do they give discounted rates on the day of embarkation or is it the same price as upgrading ahead of time?
I'm definitely not jealous of all of the snow y'all keep mentioning. It's only 75 down here in Houston!
We're an interesting bunch, no little ones to manage! My mom, dad, brother (26), and I (32) will be on board. My little ones (two four-legged hairy creatures) have to stay at a doggie hotel for 12 nights, so sad.
My ornament is wrapped and I can't wait to get on board.
Safe travels to all!![]()
oh, good, a list is good. I can share it with Mike. He won't even be getting home until Friday, probably. I am not sure when his last exam is. Also, he's behind on a paper he's writing. So, he'll just throw his clothes and computer into his car along with his cat and start driving to Orlando from Durham, NC. It will be interesting to try to get him up for an early trip to the port, but he can sleep in the van!![]()

Okay, all mostly packed now - that took all of 9 hours.

Just need to print out some documents and finish my hand luggage, then all done...probably...
We are bringing Christmas Crackers ourselves.....we could bring some for you! Just let me know. DH rolls his eyes every time I make him put on the crown and tell his joke!
