Howdy,

DW and I have just been found out a business trip she has in Savannah just before our Disney trip ends not at five on a Thursday, but noon. Plenty of time to get on down to Orlando for dinner!

We figure on hitting Jimmy Buffett's at Citywalk, then heading to a hotel and crashing. It wasn't budgeted for, all we need is a safe, clean room to catch forty winks before heading to the Courtyard for six nights. I've seen the occasional positive review on the Magic Castle, but the search features are currently disabled. Anyone stay there recently? What did you pay? Is it a decent "crash pad?" And what exactly does "deluxe continental breakfast provide that "plain old donuts and pastry breakfast" doesn't?

Thanks so much for your help. We'll probably go Priceline, but thought we'd get feedback.

Pat ,we stayed there for a couple of nights 2 years ago and it was a clean plain type of hotel room that we also used strictly to pass out after full days at the parks. The staff were very helpful and the continental breakfast was excellant consisting of fresh fruit, hot and cold cereals, toast,Krispy Kreme doughnuts, milk, juice, coffe, tea. I was pleasantly surprised as most "continental" breakfasts consist of a doughnut and coffee but this was much more.

As I said we stayed there 2 years ago for a couple of days before going to our resort but it was clean and the price was right $29.99 for DH and myself.

PhotobearSam from these boards has some pics that she would probably email you with, to see the inside of the rooms. I'll PM her and have her pop in if I can find her.:)

Hope this helps!:)

I've stayed there in the past, and I won't do it again! You are so much better off to do Priceline!! You will get a better quality room and probably for the same price!

Just having a one night place to crash at the Magic Castle, would definitely take some of the Disney magic out of your trip. Too blah, and too far away. JMHO.

Thanks for the tip, Tiffany! I did, in fact, go the Priceline route. I got the Quality Inn Maingate West for $24. Probably just as blah-blah as the Magic Castle. But we're heading in from Savannah Thursday afternoon. We'll be pulling into town about 6 PM and going straight to Jimmy Buffett's Margarittaville, then quick stop at the hotel and another hour or two at Pleasure Island. With any luck, we'll be too tired and tipsy to let anything bother sleep, and at 7 AM, we're outta there and on to Marriott Village.

Again, thanks for the help. We passed the MC last year and while I've heard it's clean and ok, it sure looked like a concrete jungle.
