Magic Bands are live on DME!

Just customized my magic bands! Staying at POP and happy to hear we will still e able to get regular FP if FP+ is not toddler/preschool planning friendly. Just hope that is true!

I customized my magic bands and it says that they are shipping soon so If I need to make any changes I better hurry. Now the Question I have is I hope that if they are giving us magic bands they come FAST because come next friday I am out of here. Road trip before our WDW stay August 4-11th!

So just for fun, I added my MNSSHP tickets and yes I got the warning box. So here is my question, do I need to bring that ticket with me to the park. I am not stupid enough to actually leave it at home during the testing, but it seems to tell you with that error that the actual ticket is no longer valid or needed. So if Magic Bands are not rolled out by October, how do I get into the party? I don't think I will be linking my actual ticket unless I have to.

I would think that when you arrie at your resort if Magica Bands haven't rolled out or you have oppted for a ticket, its all on the KWC just like before. It was possible before to by tickets and room and then have them put on the card. Disney isn't going to invailidated my media and then refuse to issue me new ones. That said I am keeping them and bring them as back up proof.

Why the worry, when a person bough a package in the past you only got a confermation numnber and new they would have tickets and DP and a room. How is this any different?

I'm in the same boat. I'm leaving town on July 30th, not arriving in DW until August 4th. So if the bands do ship (assuming it really isn't just an error, or whatever), and arrive after I leave ... what then?

You can always buy more bands. ;)

These kind of things will cause countless problems with "the new system."
People's plans just don't always follow a pre-set time of events.

Ugh I retract my earlier post. Although I was able to customize, order, reserve fp's- I called Disney bc it wouldn't let me reserve fp's for my kids and the tech CM said Disney made a mistake - your FP+ stuff is only real if you received an email with a special code from Disney. Apparently there was an error that let guests who are not going to be testers set everything up but it is not valid. Not sure what to believe, but this is what I was told.

Ok, so my daughter just told me that it says we can either have them shipped to our confirmed address OR have them shipped to another address. She wanted me to call them but I say wait since when I check the site it says to hurry they are shipping soon SO if they really ship soon then I think I should be fine. **hoping**

Well wow that is stupid then if that is the case. I guess I will just wait and see and watch these boards to see what others are saying. We are staying at Pop and I hear they are one of the testers?

I couldn't do anything. I have a ro res. Did online checkin, am appox 58 days out, AP's are linked. I'm staying at ASMu. For those that could choose MB can you tell me color choices so if/when I have info already and can do it without consulting rest of crew.

We are at pop too- but apparently not everyone is a tester.

I chose pink AFTER my daughter picked red for me. I was like ummm no I want pink. Would have rather had purple but they didn't have that option, LOL.

So, I called -- again -- and spoke with someone knowledgeable in My Magic+ IT department. She confirmed some things I already posted, and added a few more. Here's what I found out:

The first emails to eligible guests went out at about 3:00pm today. They may be sending them out in batches, but testers will most likely be contacted today or tomorrow. (She also said they were supposed to go out yesterday but didn't for some reason. Maybe that's why the site was live already this morning.)

Because IT couldn't restrict access to only potential testers, anyone whose dates and resorts fit the testing parameters is going to be able to access the system and customize bands/select FP+. However, this does not mean you will actually be a tester. If you don't get the email, you're not part of the test.

Just because you're at the right resort at the right time doesn't automatically mean you'll be asked to test. Only some people at each resort will be testing.

If you link your tickets so they become associated with a Magic Band, but you're not a tester, those tickets are -- to quote the CM -- "lost in space somewhere." Meaning, they're likely invalidated and you'll probably have to work it out with Customer Relations. So, make sure you have hard copies of your tickets with you if you've linked them.

This just cracks me up that Disney thinks it's ok to do this sort of thing. It sort of reminds me of BOG adr opening date last year when they didn't have the system set up to get a CC hold. So everyone went through crashing the Disney phone system that morning, only to find out a couple hours later they had to get in that mess of a call queue again......... to add the cc hold so the system wouldn't drop their ADR when it updated that night.

They just plow forward with these new things even though their systems can't support it. "Sorry, but we can't restrict the system to just the participants"???????????????????? So they lead you to believe the system is on for you, until you find some glitch, then have to call in and waste more time on the phone to be told it's not really on for you.

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Classic.

And, what about those people who don't follow DIS and don't realize that it might be a system glitch. People who are all pumped up waiting for their bands to arrive, or who change ADR's around their FP+ reservations only to be told "Oops." And, personally, besides the couple of hours I've spent on the phone today, I now have to deal with my linked tickets that are most likely deactivated. At least I know it's a possibility, so I can deal with it at Downtown Disney on arrival day and not have the hassle for my first RD the next day. But, I guess I'm a "lucky" one.

Isn't it magical! pixiedust:

I am going to be miffed if something is wrong with my tickets when I get there. I didn't link anything, but also won't get my tickets until I get to the resorts. Although I'm sure it would all get sorted out and won't be a big deal, I don't want to worry about it either.

You won't be affected if you don't have your tickets and haven't linked them.
