Magic Band Pick Up Issue

We booked a last minute trip on Monday for Coronado Springs & paid for upgraded magic bands which said they would be available for pick up at the front desk.
The next day, we were gifted a DVC stay so we cancelled our Coronado booking. We had spoke with Disney to ask what happens to the bands we ordered. They said they can't have them sent to Saratoga Springs and the only way to get them is to pick them up at Coronado.

My question is.... with Disney not allowing guest to visit other resorts without a reservation - do you think we'd be able to get in to pick them up? The magic band order, does not mention Coronado Springs anywhere and I didn't know if security would let us in.

Also, would Coronado even hold them once they realize there is no active guest reservation linked to those bands?

I did ask guest services but they just kept repeating that I'd have to get them from Coronado. Just wondering if anyone else had this issue before?

I have not had that issue, however, wondering if you could call and simply ask them to cancel the Coronado MB order, and, perhaps, do another order under the SSR reservation or just buy nicer MBs when you arrive? Seems like a lot of hassle to go to CSR to pick up MBs.

You can visit any resort you want; you just have to take Disney transportation to get there.

We will have a car, so we will not be using Disney Transportation.

the funny thing is, they had told me the CSR magic band order was cancelled and I would get a refund. Only for me to see the bands as active in my account with a notice to pick them up at the front desk this morning.

I would be fine if they would cancel & refund them, but otherwise, I didn't want to throw away $70 worth of MB by not picking them up.

I would recommend finding time to go to Coronado Springs on the day you were originally set to arrive. We did something similar to you once and the transferring of the MBs was a nightmare! If it were me I would call CS and advise that you still want your MBs and ask them to hold them.

Since the resort you want to visit is not one close to a park, I don't think you should have trouble going in if you explain at the gate you're there to pick up Magic Bands. The bigger challenges seem to be with people going to resorts close to the parks in order to beat the rush and walk to a park early.

The resort phone numbers connect to Call Centers.

I would just explain to the guard at the gate the situation. He can easily call over to the actual front desk and confirm the MB's are there for you to pick up if he needs confirmation.

I can't imagine you'll have much trouble, esp at CS.

Sorry you have to make the trip, though.
