Maggiano's Little Italy

I'm going with a large party. Tell me about how they serve. Will they bring me my own plate or do we share a big family style plate.

At Maggiano’s an enticing menu full of old and new world Southern Italian recipes, popular house specialties, irresistible desserts and a large selection of wines is yours for the choosing. The food is carefully made from scratch each day and the unique and welcoming environment purposely combines great service and a distinct ambiance culminating in a place you’ll want to return to again and again. Family Style service or individual entrees are available . . . whichever you choose you’ll have plenty to share or take home.

I'm assuming they serve it the same way in each of their restaurants. You will be asked to choose 2 selections from each of the 5 courses and they will be brought to you on platters. You'll each have your own plates so you can fill up on whatever you like. If you get low or want more of anything they will bring you another platter.

It's great having 2 of everything....you can really sample a lot that way.

Try and pace yourself so you can make it to the end!

We Love Maggianos here in Boston! You can order off the menu or eat family style. The portion sizes are very large so keep that in mind when ordering. The menu has a lot of italian dishes but certainly not limited to any one food group. Beef, chicken, pasta, salads, etc. We love doing the family style dining. You pay one price per person but have a 5 course meal (choice of 2 appetizers, 2 salads, 2 pasta dishes, 2 entrees and 2 desserts) They will refill your platters as needed for every course.

Have fun!

Okay last time I ate at Maggianos in Boston the people from MAC cosmetics had their spring meeting for the new line. They left TONs of make up which had to be thrown away. NOT. I left with over 250 worth of make up. When we passed the function room I had asked one of the peoplecleaning it if Icould takeit and they said yes! My only regret? I was going to see Les Mis right after and had an evening bag. If only I had thought to stuff my bra!

OH and did i mention the food was great too? Especially the dessert!

we love family style at maggiano's my DD22 eats there once a week in philly and king of prussia PA I just heard they were opening one we will be there in march
maria
family style you need at least 4 peole it is 25 per person and extra for drink maybe 2.50 but free refills I think it is worth it even if you can't eat it all as a family of 4 would cost about 100 anyway my DD and her botfrien spen abot 50 for 2 peole don't forget a good tip they keep brining that food

At the Boston location they never make us have4 people. In fact they told us that my husband and son could get the family style and I could get something else (I was on a diet).

WE LOVE Maggiano's YUMMY! Our favorite restaurant here in Charlotte, NC! The food is to die for! We love doing the Family Style dining because we always have enough to bring home for several meals afterwards. Never had anything there I did not like! The spinach and chicken manicotti is to die for my absolute favorite BUT VERY RICH! Maggiano's is NOT TO BE MISSED! YUM! Their salads are so good...my 3 year old makes a meal off of their salad and the appetizer pizza! She loves it!

anyone know the directions from disney's bwv to the orlando location I don't know how to get to international drive or the convention center
thanks
maria

Directions:
Take I-4 eastbound to the Sea World exit (Central Florida Parkway). Follow CFP (Sea World will be on your left) to the intersection with International Drive and make a left. (It's the third or fourth traffic light.) Follow I-Drive north and Pointe Orlando, where Maggiano's is, will be on your right just past the convention center.

I love Maggiano’s. You must try Maggiano's at least once. I've gone to Maggiano's in St. Louis lots of time, and Florida but I really enjoy the one in Chicago - downtown. If you are doing the family style option, be cautioned that EVERYone at your table must do the family style too - even children. It gets kind of costly with two young ones at the table. A family of 4 could easily spend $100 for a meal w/tip. That doesn't include a glass of wine or two. My favorite is the Fried Zucchini and spinach/artichoke dip as an appetizer, their Salmon w/spinach as the main dish with both the Caesar and house salad (which is both delicious) and their lemon cookies (indescribably delicious) and cheesecake is what we usually have for dessert. Not too crazy about their chocolate moose cake or any of their pastas. Don't judge their pastas based off me, I'm not a pasta person. We are often full before the salmon even gets on our table. My husband eats the eggplant Parmesan, which he loves (he's a vegetarian). He also claims they have a perfect cup of coffe. Finally, you can take home a “doggie” bag. How great is that. Their service is excellent too.

Have eaten at the Maggiano's in St. Louis and it was great. I got the lasagna and would do so again. (I am very picky about lasagna) DH got some sort of fish and enjoyed it very much. Since it was just dh & I we didn't do the family style.

Anyone ever eat at the Philadephia one at 12th & Filbert?

Just wondering about parking in that area. Also, is this a casual restaurant?

Thanks for letting us know that there is a Maggiano's in Orlando! We love eating at Maggiano's here in the Los Angeles area, and we also tried a branch in Washington D.C. last year. I'm currently looking for Italian restaurants for our upcoming trip in March as my 9-year old nephew specifically requested Italian. LOL! Maggiano's may be a bit of a drive for dinner--we're staying in Windsor Hills--but we know that the food will be good at this restaurant. :)

Does anyone know if they take reservations for a large party? We have 10 people in our group.

If I not mistaken, it does not open until June or July 2007. There was an Italian restaurant at the Mall of Millenia across from the Cheesecake Factory but I do not know it's name. It looked pretty good and I asked on a previous thread if anyone had been there but as yet have not gotten a reply.

Edit; sorry I just checked further on the board and I DO have some replies. The name of it is Brio Tuscan Grill. The reports are very good. This might be a good substitute for Maggi's
Also, Check out the restaurants on Sandlake Road. There are a couple of very nice Italian restaurants there. One I think is named Antonios.
