Madison's Special Wish Foundation Trip/GKTW

Hi - praying for you guys!!!

one thing bout planning your wish trip is that we really didnt have to wait in lines at all! It really helped us move through parks much more quickly!! It was so fun!!! Make sure Madison wears that button!!!! For us it was so nice that Daniel didnt have to wait in lines, even though he was in a wheel chair, he really wore out in the Florida heat. Being able to skip lines really made the trip more enjoyable for him ( and us too!!). Have fun planning ( or not planning!! lol):goodvibes

Thank you so much for the prayers.
We will make sure Madison wears the button. Grandma is trying really hard to do some planning and I just want to go and be away for awhile. Our past trips have been wonderful because of her planning, but I really think this one will be ok even if she doesn't get a lot a planning done.
Want to also thank you again for choosing Madison for the Big Give. We are waiting for the next package and will post pics as soon as they come. It means more than you know to know that there are people out there that care enough to send my baby stuff. THANKS!!!!!:hug:

We just went to US/IOA in May for a few days and my dd and your gd are similar in age so if you have any questions fire away and I will try to help. :)

did your dd like US and IOA? I took a look at the US site and am not sure that there is enough there for her to do. She likes the rides that are for the bigger kids but she is not tall enough for them. I am just not sure. I need some advise.

She really liked some of both parks but some stuff was a bit scary. Jordan (my DD) is only about 45-46" tall and could ride a lot. She loves EE at WDW if that gives you a scale of her bravery.

IOA - IOA reminds me much more of a Disney Park because of the theming. She loves reading Dr Seuss books so she really loved Seuss Landing. The rides in Seuss Landing our geared a little younger but she loved seeing some of her favorite books come to life and we spent a lot of time there. Harry Potter was not open yet so I can't give any advice there. She also really loved the water rides - Ripsaw falls and Blutos Bilge barge rats. You definitely need swimsuits for those. She liked Pteradon Flyers and the Discovery Center but did not like the Jurassic Park area in general because she is afraid of dinosaurs. She did not like the Spiderman Ride - I think because some of the elements were right in your face. She was too short for Hulk and Dr Doom.

Universal - it reminds me more of a standard amusement park. She loved Men in Black - we did it twice. She also liked the Simpsons, Shrek (this is a movie experience) and Jimmy Neutron. She had a lot of fun in the Curious George water play area - there is also a huge plastic ball room back there that she liked. She also liked the Animal Actors on Location show. She was too short for the Mummy and Rip Rocket. She thought ET was okay but she never saw the movie so she didn't really follow the story. Fievels Playland was boring and woody woodpecker is a short kiddie rollercoaster (reminded me of Goofys barnstormer). We skipped Jaws. She was not crazy about Twister but liked Disaster more than we thought she would.

I think since you have the tickets there would be enough to do to spend a few hours in each one. We definitely enjoyed IOA more if you were to pick one. Hope this helps! If you have specific questions, fire away and I will do my best.

Well the doctor finally called with the CT scan results just as we walked in from the urgent care. Madison feel off the dining room chair and broke her bum. Not in to much pain. Only when she goes to sit and then get up. So now we have a broken bum and broken foot. Doctor did say that they did not see any pnuemonia on the CT, but they did see some enlarged lymph nodes in one of her armpits. Seeing doc for that Monday.
Grandma is still trying to plan our trip and getting some good advice from some of you. Thank you for that. She likes to have things planned. I will be happy to just go plan or not.

Thank you for the info, I think what we might do is go to those parks for a little while just to say we did. There are a few other things we want to do that are not parks, airboat ride and there is a petting zoo that has different animals than we have seen in the past at other petting zoos. the kids can milk a cow. They have goats ,pigs, horses, and bison just to name a few. Madison loves all kinds of animals so I think she will enjoy this.

Madison and Mommy just got back from the urgent care, Madison fell off of her chair while eating her dinner and broke her butt, yes I said butt. She is now going around with a broken foot and butt. What will she break next. She gets infusion once a month that is suppose to stregthen her bones, just think how many breaks she would have if she was not getting this infusion.

Thank you so much for the prayers.

The ship date for Madison's give is still a little way's away, so dont let her be upset if she doesnt get another surprise for a few weeks - lol.

When we went on Dan's trip, they went to US for a few hours on Thursday and then we came back and did the Christmas Party at GKTW. THey really didnt care too much for it. It was hard because Dan's brother Stephen LOVES wild big kid rides, but was too short - so he got upset (actually that happened at Sea World too, but there was more for him to do there). Anyways, like you and your mom were saying - you head over, check it out and when you are done you just leave! :cutie:

Oh my gosh thank you so much. She is my hero also and coming from a ret Marine I can't tell you what that means. Thank you for the prayers also. She really is a trooper with all that she goes through. Thanks for reading and following along. :flower3:

Hi there! Just joining in. I wanted to say how beautiful your daughter is. I know several people have said it but she really is adorable! :)

I am so sorry that so many things seem to be going wrong before the trip. All I can hope & pray for you is that for all the rough times you are experiencing now, that you will have an extremely magical & wonderful trip. I will keep your baby girl in my prayers that she recovers quickly enough to enjoy her time.

I'l like to say that you, your mom, and Madison are hero's in my eyes and such troopers. I bow down to all the families of Wish kids. :worship: You guys have such tremendous strength.

God Bless your family and I'll keep following your PTR. :wizard:

Hoping Madison is feeling better. What do they do for a broken butt? I hope this is not going to interfere with her being able to enjoy her wish trip!:goodvibes

Thank you so much for such kind words. We think she is pretty special ourselves. Thanks for the prayers and I hope you are right about the trip. Just need to get her bum feeling better. Heading back to doc this afternoon to have it recheck. She is in a lot of pain today and new pain in her hip. Thanks for following along.

Well, Madison is actually feeling a little worse today. Her bum is hurting really bad and now her hip is also hurting. They don't do anything for a broken bum. Just rest and sitting on a pillow for about 4 weeks. We are also praying that she is better before our trip. Can't do rides with a broken butt. Thanks for the well wishes. :)

Good morning everyone, Today is going to be a great day. It is not going to be hot, actually we can open our windows up and get some of the fresh air inside. Madison does better when it is cool out. I think Tammy, Madison and I are going to a store to get some shirts fo do some disney shirts and a Sea World shirt for us to wear on those park days, Has anyone ever done a Sea World shirt before? if so would you mind letting me know where you got your design? I might get out the suitcases and start packing. and do some cleaning. And watch some Nascar racing this afternoon, nice and relaxing after a week full of doctors appointments for Madison. She is doing pretty good with her bum. It does not seem to hurt her too much. She says her flu shot area hurts more than her bum. It is pretty sad when a little girl is more scared of a simple shot than she is of an IV. Just makes me want to cry when I think about all she goes thru, and I do sometimes.Back to good thoughts. Have a super great day and enjoy your family to the fullest.

AWw Prayers are being sent ! and we pray she doesn't break any more bones and Goodness hope she does heal up fast so she can enjoy all the rides that she wants to! :grouphug:

Thank you so much for the prayers. She does heal fast normally. We keep telling her she needs to be really careful so her bum will heal before we leave. She is trying as hard as any 7 year old can I guess.

Hoping Madison is feeling better today!

She is doing a little better I think. She went without her foot boot today and I don't believe she had any pain. We will see tomorrow when she gets up. Now just need bum to heal up. Thanks for commenting.

I guess we had a pretty good weekend. Madison did anyway. Mommy is trying. She went without her foot boot today and it doesn't seem to be bothering her. We will see tomorrow when she gets up. We are headed back to hospital tomorrow for a check with her immune doc to see what is up with her lymph nodes being enlarged. Praying it is nothing. I don't know if I can handle anymore. We will see. Thanks to everyone who is following us and praying for her. It is appreciated more than you know. Grandma crys everytime she reads something that someone has typed. For people who only know our baby because of this board to care as much as you do is amazing. It is truly taken to heart and will never be forgotten. :grouphug:

Well we made it back from the hospital and she is on another antibiotic. So she is back on 3 total right now. Her enlarged lymph nodes are from the infection she has on her skin from her bumps. Which really isn't anything to worry about - at least that is what the doctor said. The cultured one spot on the back of her knee where it is bleeding and seeping from her bumps. She has spots that are doing that on her neck, under her arms, behind her knees, in her groin area and on her bum. They are all red, bleeding (from itching them) and seeping, so that is why the new antibiotic. It has gotten cold outside and hopefully if will stay cold. When it is cold out her bumps seem to go away. So maybe we are heading up hill now. At least that is what I am praying for. I really need some sleep without being woke up due to bad dreams. 4 weeks and we are on our way to GKTW so excited for a break.
