Mac Volo Buckle...

I just got a 2007 Mac Volo...
Is the Mac Volo Stroller buckle supposed to be so hard to
open? My fingers were sore and red trying to open it.
Will it get easier or do you think I got a reject?

I bought a volo online a couple of months ago and thought the same thing. I kept mine and the buckle isn't an issue anymore. Either I got used to it or it loosened up. (sorry - probably not much help!)

A great tip I got here on the dis last year when I got my volo is to reapetedly heat the buckle with a hair dryer. While it is warm open it and close it several times as it cools..then reheat and repeat a few times..it really did the trick at loosening it up a bit . they are really hard to open ...all I could picture was my ds stuck inside and having to go potty as I was melting in the Florida heat stressing about not being able to get him out

I'll have to try that! I've had my Volo, for a couple of years and mine is still hard to open.

both our volo & quest buckles were incredibly hard to undo when we first got them, but after some use, they got easier. i think they just need to break in a bit.

I just got mine last night and I thought the same thing!

Also, it doesn't seem as easy to open and fold as I thought it would be...will I get used to that??

buckles will loosen over time or you can do as I did, remove the straps altogether for older ones as they are yukky to sleep on! mine are older tho. . ..

step down on side release until you feel the stroller "give" "start to fold" and then you can yank up on the strap. do not do these things simultaneously. this should not be difficult to do or you may have a problem stroller.

I thought the same thing about folding it too. But I went to the Official Maclaren WEBSITE and watched the FIVE SECOND FOLD DEMO. I just wasn't doing it right. Just lift the middle latch a little with you foot and the put the side lever down with your foot. It closes very easily. In the instructions that are just pictures it looks like you have to do both at once which would be impossible with your foot... But the Demo shows you how to do it.

I know what you mean. The first time I used mine, I had to use both of my hands to open it. It is much easier now. My mom took my DS out one day and she couldn't open the buckle and she had to go knocking on my neighbor's door to ask for his help and even he couldn't get it open.

I just got my mac volo on Friday. In my hours upon hours of research on the disboards about the perfect stroller, I knew ahead of time they were going to be hard to open and they were. I did try the dryer trick and it did seem to work. I did each side 2 or 3 times and just kept working buckling and unbuckling. However my son is 2 1/2 so when we go to Disney he more than likely will not be buckled up every time since we will be getting in and out. Too much of a pain. I do think they should get a new buckle system though. It should not be that hard.

Thank gosh that my ds6 does not need to be straped in with the buckle because MAN was it hard to open, although my ds loves to open and close things to keep himself occupied-he will surely loosen it up in time. We absolutely love the stroller anyway!!!
