Are you ready, Missy. I hear it is headed your way.

And Jean, how are you? And your condo? Any word on it? I heard Irene hit Ocean City.

Thanks, Tracey.

Well, it was an interesting weekend. I spent Friday evening/Saturday morning gathering supplies. We did debate going to my sister's house (she's actually in Florida this week, she left Friday morning) but decided to stay home. Made a steak dinner (so we'd have one less thing in the freezer) yesterday, went to bed about 1 AM--storm hadn't hit us yet. We did have some intense rain, but that was it. Woke up at 6 AM, still had power. Went back to sleep, woke up at 8:30. Irene was a Tropical storm by then, and was hitting us. Was sitting in the living room when I heard a nasty noise. Dad went out to check--a large tree had been uprooted, and the upper branches landed on the house! :scared1: Luckily, it didn't hit any power lines or land IN the house. The town guys came by to check it at 2:30, they will take care of it, but we may have to wait a bit since it's not on power lines or in the house, and they need a bucket truck to get it out. Scary moment, if it had come thru the house, I may have been hurt (or worse). We never lost power thru the whole thing. I also found out that my office is closed tomorrow. I wasn't going to go in anyway, because the trains aren't running yet. (they shut them down at noon yesterday)

Glad you made it through, Missy. Sorry about the tree, but at least it didn't get you.
We have been through many wind storms in WA and had many trees come down.....never fun.

Thankful you are safe and it wasn't as bad as it could have been! :goodvibes

They came at 7:45 this morning & started cutting down the tree. Well, at least that's when the noise woke me up!

I received my package from Stephanie (mgjmom615)

My "M" were as follows:

Mickey Mouse markers
tape measure
magic towel
Minnie Mouse hair bow
mirror
Mickey Monster stuffed animal----really cute, I think

Thanks, Stephanie for it all.

We had a great time at Disney. Then the Disney Dream was amazing! We can't wait for our next trip down for Christmas. :santa:

When we got off the ship everyone in FL was worried about hurricane Irene. Little did we know it would follow us home. We just had a lot of rain and wind. We lost both phone and Internet. Called verizon and it would take 3 weeks before they can come out. :scared1:

School was supposed to start today but it was postponed until tomorrow. We just got an email from the principal that they still didn't have power. So, hopefully that would get fixed soon.
