LuvLuvLuv's Memories TR Starts Pg 73 - Honeymoon Day 6.1

Deena sweetie - if you don't get much response from the girls on the 'Creative DISigns' board, give me a shout. I have been known to dabble on there and would have a go at a design for you if you wish!!!

It's all coming together... I'll tell you, I don't read for about a few weeks, and I miss out on a 300 page book. I've read every post under suspense.. you keep all of us very into the journey!

For starters though ... I need to find a way to come down a month after our wedding just for your dessert party!! :thumbsup2

Secondly, the switch was well needed. It doesn't matter what role any of the cast members play, if you as the guest (and in this case, the bride) isn't happy, changes need to be made to make you happy.

Third, I sooooo didn't know about the tip on putting your planning reservation number in for the honeymoon registry temporarily. Woot woot for cheating the system!!

Lastly, I'll leave you with this.. if you listen to some of the 'wedding spotlights' episodes on the Inside Disney Weddings podcast, you notice an ongoing theme. The wishes wedding is exactly that, a Wish. Brides and Grooms have done so many unique and sometimes crazy things you never thought would be accepted or approved by Disney. Keep thinking outside the Castle, and don't let them say no. As a salesperson at heart, I knew it would take 3 or 4 nos to move on. They are only reading from a book of 'rules' and while they are written or typed, they aren't in stone.

**Don't be someone who just listens to someone else's really awesome idea on a podcast, be the one people talk about!**

Hi Hi Hi Hi!!! So glad things are coming together for you, and that you went and got answers from whoever you needed to, it paid off!! I like the places you've chosen and really like the hoodie idea!! Cant wait to see what your invites and stuff look like! Its finally real for you!!:banana::banana:

CONGRATS, DEENA!!! :bride:
I'm so glad Sago Cay is YOURS! :goodvibes I think it's perfect for you.

Yay Thanks!

So can you save a hoodie for me? Preferably a lime one!!

I'll see if I can work on Dave! ha. It's our engage-versary on Nov 4! But we'll be a month married Nov 6 (eek!)! ha. So we'll see what I can do. Plus my parents were talking about taking us down November during Turkey week. =[

And I wanna see some invites girl!

:) We'll save you a hoodie :) Well I need to redo them but, they're their on zazzle under glittery charcoal i think :)

First of all, your new planner sounds a lot better! I'm glad you got someone else, it seems much more promising and a little less frustrating now.

Definitely try to do a dessert party! I think that's something unique about doing a Disney wedding. And I LOVE the hoodie idea!

I think it's unique and a good way to end the day and say .... peace.... we're on our honeymoon now

ooh me!! I've always wanted to go to dessert party (since I didn't have one for my wedding) and I'm local so always around! :yay:

i'll have to remember that :wizard:

yay! congrats on getting your date! And I love the hoodie idea!

:)

Congrats on getting your date and venue! I am so happy for you! I want a hoodie too!!!!!! :)

:cool1: Thanks!

Thanks very much!! I haven't heard from anyone, but I have some time. I think the screen printers here in town may actually put something together for you too. But I will sure keep you in mind :lovestruc

Thank you so much for your advice and kind words!! I do want to have something "different" and I do want to make the sales people think "out of the box." In sales myself I know how it *should* be done. If we wanted a cookie-cutter wedding, we sure wouldn't have our hearts set on Disney!

I don't have much to say today :lmao:  :rotfl:

I didn't touch or talk about much all weekend. Dave went and invited more of his friends, lol. So I threw my hands up in the air and told my family to invite whoever they wanted. I also said at work the other night that anyone is welcome if they wanted to pay to come. I look for it to be around 18-20ish. Good number for a dessert party since it's plus us, and a few dis'ers :lovestruc

Now I'm nervous that Sago Cay will be too small for the ceremony and reception both--but then again, it might be okay, lol. I really want to walk it and see--which brings me to my next :headache: moment. I'm waiting to hear back on this, but I believe another lie I was told was that I could have my AP 5 days after we sign the LOA at 12 months. We are supposed to arrive November 10th and were told months and months ago we'd have the APs. We were counting on this for the AP discount, TIW card and not having to buy $622 of tickets--all that together is a giant chunk of $$. Although I am supposed to hear back on this sometime this week, I just have that feeling. You know what I'm talking about. The feeling that the trip is going to have to be canceled or cut back. I REALLY REALLY want to walk the venue and get a vision and I DON'T want to cancel. I even tried to get points for October or earlier in November... but nothing is available--not even Saratoga Springs. This is all because of LIES. I could have planned accordingly if I wasn't set up for this state of mind. I was told this on April 6th at 12:30pm--just for the record, I looked it up  Sorry I'm on a tangent about this today because I will be devastated if I have to cancel my trip. I know I could rent a night, fly down, walk it and come back, but we wanted to see the Osborne lights and Xmas stuff... and a few amazing disbrides :( Keep your fingers crossed that they come through and it'll be okay. I'm not touching the reservation until they let me know. I will be soooooooooo sad :( Please DFTW if you can picture me teary eyed at my desk... make this right and I will be forever grateful :sad1:

I know I said I didn't have much to say, but I guess I meant about the wedding. Fingers crossed for some positive info this week!! Happy Monday!!

I don't see why if you get your LOA in by fax the same day you receive it, that they shouldn't be able to have your vouchers ready....even if you had to pick them up when you get there. I feel like that is totally doable. Plus, I don't want you to cancel your trip---I would really like to have a disbride meet!

Fingers crossed for you girl!! I'm going to keep everything I can crossed for you! ha.

Woohoo! I get a hoodie! Even though I'm going to try and get down there, financially I don't know if I can.

Sometimes a weekend with less wedding talk is good! And tell Dave to hush it up! ha. Or give him a number limit! Like 10 and 10 so that you don't go overboard and who knows who will actually show up right?

Yeah, it seemed pretty straight forward--but maybe it's for the best that we just get tickets so if something is up with the LOA, etc... that we don't have a $600 shock within 5 days. Then we can just use them into 2013 and it'll be better :confused3 It'll work out :) I don't think we'll cancel, but we did find a killer deal last night on a 3 night trip (dvc points) in October that may be realllly hard to pass up if it's still available--I haven't heard back from them though so that may fall through anyway. I was sad because it would mean I would miss out on meeting tons of disbrides... but the look on his face when he asked if we could go to the Halloween Party was just precious--and it would save us $1000.... and that's a lot.

Fingers crossed for you girl!! I'm going to keep everything I can crossed for you! ha.

Lol, 10 and 10.... I think that's what he's thinking. But, he has 1 family member coming, and I have 8. So that's not going to work. He keeps inviting all his buddies and will have all these friends there, and I'll be stuck with my crazy family--yay :sad2: How about 12 and 8 :confused3 Lol, that sounds better :)

So I've been trying to get a move on with little things this week. I've been working on our budget a lot. I was finding that a giant chunk of it was our 10 day stay at Bay Lake Tower. Even taking 1 day off was huge!! I initially wanted to stay until Sunday, but then I got to thinking that a down day before we get back to work could probably be beneficial--and more financially friendly :) If I would get BLT for 10 days at $11pp + DxDDP = 5560.40. Yikes! Right now my "outside of DFTW" budget is over $17,000 which includes everything from a dog sitter, to tips, to alterations and spanx, etc etc etc. In a perfect world... that number would be $12,500.... so I'm trying to shave a bit off--or at least as much as possible. I'm realizing we're not going to be able to do as many tours as we wanted because we will have 3 or 4 days of pre-wedding/wedding activities, and we really only have 4 1/2 days after to spend alone--and will most likely just want to relax poolside. We then got to talking about how we spend a LOT of time over by Epcot, and most of our meals are over that way, and that we would be traveling over there a lot for pre-wedding activities. I thought it would maybe be a good idea to stay at BWV until the day after the wedding, then move to BLT. We can do all our Epcot/HS stuff plus Food and Wine, be close to guests, I'll be close to the Mandara Spa :) I have a contact with someone who is holding points for me for BWV for next year, and I am in contact with someone for BLT points as well. So 6 nights at BWV, 4 nights at BLT and DxDDP = 4596.36. Savings of about $1000. I know we didn't want to be around our guests initially, but we all know they will want/need something and we'll be traveling around. I also like the thought of being close after the dessert party is over--maybe we'll even want to keep partying on the BW

Last night I made the design for our hoodie favors. I also designed a few shirts for me, and a few shirts for him. When PeaceLoveRhinestones is back at Etsy, I have 6 items in my favorites that I want to get. Then I'll get to making our clothes. Dave wants his shirts made in Safety Yellow--he likes to be seen. Whatever.

So above I mentioned us moving up our trip. That may or may not happen. If the points deal falls through, I probably won't mess with it--but saving a LOT of money is always great. I haven't heard anything back from them, but there weren't any other responses on the post :confused3 I really wanted to go in November, but selling points are that we've never been to MNNSHP, and our Disney Rewards Debit Card quits getting perks after Oct 31st this year since they did away with it. Also, we wouldn't be in limbo with tickets, we'd have a couple paychecks to re-coup before our DFTW deposit and if there were any issues, we wouldn't be on a time restraint. Oh... and I wouldn't have to fight with work since you're not supposed to have any requests in November or December... it's always a battle with them. Who knows what will happen. You'll hear it here first whatever it is. (I will feel so incredibly bad if I have to take nights away from Sarah's block :sad1:)

Today I'm calling family to get another headcount because I want to contact my BWV person and give them a number to hold. I know that they can't even book this until December, but everyone needs to get their ducks in a row if they want to rent during Food and Wine. If not, they'll be paying a lot more to stay at BWI. Speaking of which.. I'm going to call right now while I'm feeling froggy.

Be back tomorrow with an update!!

Okay... Good News!

Talked to my stepmom... she's contacting the rest of the family she hasn't got to yet today about the rooms. She thinks my famliy count will be 11 (what happened to 8? she thinks her sister in Dania,FL is coming with her son and BF) So I'm already into Dave's 10  She finally understands my sense of urgency and I feel positive, lol.

Oh and..... I GOT UK LOCHSIDE!!!!!! :cool1:  :woohoo: :yay: :cheer2:

Sigh of Relief.

Woohoo on your DP locations! And we may be neighbors our wedding week..we are going to stay at BWV 11/1 to 11/6 then BLT 11/6 to 11/9 then prob do our free room at the Poly.

lol, yeah.... pretty much!! we're doing bwv-pref view 11/1-11/6 and BLT 11/6-11/10. if we get a free night, i'm using it for my night at the GF. even though we didn't plan for the split stay... everytime we stay outside of epcot we regret it since we're always over that way. i think we both have stellar plans!

Too funny! We are doing 1BR preferred at BWV and probably 1BR MK view at BLT. We need to compare itineraries once we get closer. I'm so excited but it still feels so far away!

Alright my loves.... I said you'd hear it here first, lol. (well second cuz I just called Dave :rotfl:)

November is *ON*

I've been waiting to hear back from the October reservation, but they haven't logged in since they posted the offer--trust me I keep checking. So being that I'm super antsy... I was going over numbers, etc. If they don't answer their own post in 2 days--they don't want to get rid of it that bad.

I figured no matter what the outcome, I needed to save money. I swallowed my pride, called Disney Reservations, gulped, and asked him to cancel my sold out BCV ressie and switch me to ASMovies :sad2: The price was only $64 more for one night than the October points offer, I already have all my November ADRs, and I kinda wanted to do Deluxe Dining--going value would allow that. So I asked him to check for PIN codes... nothing. He asked why I was downgrading and I told him the discounts haven't come out and I need to scale back. He said they have a special that I would have to decide on right now (a take it or leave it kinda thing) that I could have Coronado Springs, King Bed, Deluxe Dining and a 4day PH (that can be taken off if we get the AP) for $7 LESS than ASMovies. I looked it up and did the math... they gave me 43% off CSR!!!! We love CSR!!!! My entire reservation with dining and tickets is less than my room only would have been at BCV!! I win! We get an extra day!! And Sarah gets to keep her 4 nights on her block!! Today has been a good day :) We'll just have to do MNNSHP our first night of our wedding trip next year!! I'm glad I called, lol. I love saving $$ :yay:

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Wow!!!! That is a great deal!!!! Congratulations!!!! I've never stayed at CSR, but I'm sure it must be prettier at least than the All Stars!

We always stay at values. I am NOT that big of a fan, but Chris doesn't mind so much... and, most of all, I am cheap! :lmao: But, I also know it's not a permanent thing--- my grandparents are going to be giving me their DVC membership at some point! So WOOO!!!!!

Awesome for you! PeaceLoveRhinestones is AWESOME. That's where I GOT MINE! =] Tell her I said helllo! hehe. I can't wait to see them all!

Everything sounds great. I can't wait to hear more and wish I could join you! <3

Deena,

All great news! Congrats on getting UK Lochside. Not sure if anyone else has it booked for that week, but you, me and Wendy are taking up 3 nights there that week. :)

Sorry you gave up BCV, but that it is an awesome savings at CSR. I may pick your brain about that resort. We have never stayed there, but plan on offering it in our room block.

Everything sounds like it worked out great!!! Glad you get to do MNSSHP!! We haven't been before but are going in September and can't wait!!!

Woohoo! I'm glad you got your DP location AND that you're going in Nov with a better rate at CSR!:yay:

Me too!! I can't wait to make my etsy order!!

We originally booked POFQ last November, but our room was dirty and had issues, so they moved us to CSR. We had the most fabulous time there!! They have the deluxe toiletries (because they're a convention resort), the grounds are just amazing, and despite what I've heard about conventioneers... to me, it since it was just adults... it just seemed more "grown up" to us and we really liked that. The rooms are just beautiful with dark wood and recently refurbed! We're offering it in our block too!!

Everything sounds like it worked out great!!! Glad you get to do MNSSHP!! We haven't been before but are going in September and can't wait!!!

We decided to stick with November... but will do MNNSHP in 2012!! I can't wait!!!

Woohoo! I'm glad you got your DP location AND that you're going in Nov with a better rate at CSR!:yay:

Yay!! It's nice to hear good news  It's all pretty exciting!

Are you ready for a Monday Morning Curveball?? I think anyone that has read any of this PJ knows that I have high standards for customer service. I also have extreme anxiety when I have to wait for answers, or if I have doubts in the back of my mind. I also believe in laying all the truth out. When I started lurking in Disney Weddings back in 2009, I feel in love with the Roots. I was certain that no matter where in the country I got married that I was going to hire them. As time passed, we did decide if/when we got married we would have them--I even contacted them a couple times to tell them just how awesome they are. When they decided to move, my anxiety sky rocketed. I was still over 2 years out, and was starting to feel uncomfortable with the situation--although I know I shouldn't--I just thought I would feel more comfortable with a local photographer. So there was another photographer that I loved as well. Her style was fantastic, edits were amazing and I was quickly warming up to having her as our photographer. I had asked a few brides in private messaging about her, got their feedback, talked the feedback over with DF along with looking at her finished products with him... and we decided that we would go with her. I had so many visions of the photography in the WP and on the beach next door.... but the WP isn't in our future... and the beach isn't going to exist on that side anymore :sad2: The 2011 price hike was significant. So significant, that I had to re-evaluate. It made me look at more recent photos and weddings and what I'm finding... is they all look the same. I am always afraid of that with a photographer--that they'll find a groove and become cookie cutter. Regardless of the feedback, the price hike, and the groove-like recent photos... I was ready to book--and I was afraid I was just haven't anxiety driven 2nd thoughts. So about 5 minutes after Diane confirmed that I had my Sago Cay location, I sent off the email asking if there was availability that day and if we could start to book--July 7th. So I would say about mid way through last week--I got very antsy. I had the money set aside from this paycheck to make a deposit... but no reply. With anxiety rising... I was trying to think of what I would do if I couldn't have her? Would I hire my friend Kristen to come down and do it? That would be expensive because I'd have to pay for her flight, room and food. Do I just hire DFTW and have it go toward my minimum? Too Risky. Wait... remember Wendy? She had GREAT photos, but we don't see much of that guy... I wonder if he still does DFTW? A little back search, googling, and a hour or two of looking at all the pictures on the site, the blog and FB--I was intriged. Could Jason Angelini be my photographer? Since we're outside and casual--way less formal--I was really feeling this style. Everything else about my wedding has changed, so along with that changes to photography styles. What really was appealing was the cost of the engagement shoot. Dave didn't want to do one at all--I did. My thoughts were to at least do epix with him, as this was very reasonable. I sent off an email asking about epix, and their pricing. I had been on their FB page earlier in the day and they had a wedding and a birthday party to go to, so I figured I'd hear from them later in the week. Nope... 1:20am I was answered. After a big day of work for them... I was answered within 24 hours of my email--extremely impressed and thankful. Because of great customer service, a great custom package, and great work... I'm ready to book with them--I have the email in and all I need to know is where to send the deposit. I'm really excited--Dave even called me out for being "oddly hyper" this morning. It actually felt "right" and I really don't have one doubt in my mind that it's going to be fabulous. ((FYI--still haven't heard back from the other email--11 days))

So about the engagement shoot. I sent the days that we're in WDW with hopes of getting them done on the Monday morning of our last day. They'll be done at Coronado Springs where we're staying. I didn't want to do GF/Poly where we'll have plenty from the wedding... and CSR is BEAUTIFUL!! There's so many unique places to take pictures... ahhh I'm so excited. Hopefully we'll get that day!!

On the DFTW side, I was supposed to have the answers to my questions by Friday, but on Thursday... she was still waiting to get them herself. It's mindblowing that it's taking so long for yes/no to stuff that I was immediately told YES to for the past 8 months. :confused3 Hopefully it all works out soon. It's all about the APs, characters, spacing, and adding in pre-reception time. I'm trying to be patient--I guess I'd rather wait for a truthful answer than be lied to. I'll keep y'all posted.

I hope everyone is having a happy Monday!!

Deena sweetie - I am so pleased that everything is finally working out for you!!

That's some good news about the photographer and your upcoming stay! Glad to hear that some things are going right, and hopefully you will get an answer from DFTW soon :goodvibes
