lovinaz's "getting her act together" journal

Hopefully your legs are feeling a bit better. That's a lot of work!! Hopefully the tenants will be at least somewhat appreciative!!

I can't believe your Paris trip with the kids is getting this close! Time really is flying!

Yes, your DS is perfectly normal, but a bit heartbreaking for mom.
Have a wonderful rest of the week!

We are done with the rental!!! :banana::yay::cool1::woohoo::cheer2: And the tenants started moving in last night. I felt bad because I stayed home to take care of things while poor DH slaved away. He got everything done except cleaning the floors and they said they'd do it, no problem. The wife was really happy about the place, and loved the granite! So, it was all worth it. They signed a year lease, so I don't have to worry about anything for a while!

My legs are still sore, but better, however, I did not work out this morning. I fully intended on doing my Pilates, but that was not meant to be... My alarm went off and I hit snooze and was dead asleep by the time it went off again 9 minutes later! :rolleyes1 Oh well, I plan on getting to the gym tomorrow morning and hopefully every day for the rest of the week.

For Monday:
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: spinach salad w/chicken, cheese, LF dressing
S: 3 egg whites; 10 baby carrots
S: 1 mini Famous Amos cookie (taster at Costco!); 1 cup blueberries
D: burrito w/ground turkey, cheese, FlatOut bread; HC fudge bar

E: 45min elliptical
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tracy, we still need to clean up the yard at the rental this weekend, but since they are moving in now and we are not charging them any rent for May, they will just have to deal with it! At least the inside is complete!
Julie, I have been so busy w/the rental and work I haven't even had chance to obsess about my vacation! I need to get started...:goodvibes
Quick post today, I just ate lunch and it is 4:00! :eek: I had to go to the allergist today. I could have gotten tested, but the lady who booked my appointment failed to tell me not to take Claritin for 3 days before the appointment... :mad: So now I have to go back next week. :confused3
After work yesterday I took DD9 clothes shopping, she needed all new summer clothes. I also got a couple things for me - some new jeans (Size 8!) and work pants (my fat girl pants were too big). I am still not down to where I was a couple weeks ago weight-wise, but what can you do... I am still 10lbs lighter than I was last summer, and that is a lot for my size. :thumbsup2
For Tuesday:
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: FlatOut bread w/chicken lunchmeat, spinach, mustard
S: chocolate chip cookie the size of a dinner plate :rolleyes1
D: Mini Wheats w/skim milk
E: none
Hi there! I am jumping in, if that's okay! Congrats on the new clothes! I just started my journal and I have lost a few pounds, but I have a while to go before I can buy new clothes. But reading other journals is helping me get a little inspiration of my own.
P.S. I SO want a chocolate chip cookie the size of a dinner plate right now!:rolleyes1
Amy, so glad the rental is done! You must be so excited to have that behind you. You and your dh really have earned some restful weekends for awhile!
Your food sounds good and I have no doubt that you'll get back on track with working out now that you aren't working that second job doing manual labor at the rental!
Size 8 jeans, omg I can't even remember those days.:sad2:
Today has been a nightmare! Meetings galore, which resulted in snacking galore... THe day before WI, no less. I need to stop the madness! :confused3
I have also been really slacking off with my workouts! No workout Tue or today, and I won't be able to go tomorrow because I have to go in at 7am so I can get off at 3:30pm (ex is picking up the kids at 4, my brother is coming into town for the weekend and we are having a BBQ). I should be cleaning instead of DISing, but we all know how that goes! :lmao:
For Wednesday:
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: spinach salad w/chicken, cheese, LF dressing; 1c strawberries
D: 2 pieces homemade pizza w/ham; HC fudge bar
E: 45min treadmill
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Plumeria, thanks for stopping by! I will have to check out your journal. That cookie was awesome, unlike the giant brownie I mowed down today. I shouldn't have finished it, but :rolleyes1

Amy, I wish there were relaxing weekends in store! We have to start on the OUTSIDE of the rental now! :eek: I was pretty happy about the Size 8 jeans. I can wear Size 8 dress pants all the time, but for some reason jeans were always a Size 10. But I am right on the borderline, so I need to get my act together to stay in the smaller size!

Amy, I think its just hard to work out when you are exhausted from work and the rental! Maybe you can make up for some lost workouts this weekend, if not, next week is a new start.

Sounds like you have busy weekend, that is nice your brother is coming and that you and dh will have some alone time!

I also think the rental work counts as some working out so in a sense, you have not been skipping at all!

Weight this morning was 138. Not thrilled, but given my lack of working out and less than stellar food choices this week, I guess I should be glad it didn't go up from last week! I did start down a bad path last night, but I was able to knock some sense into myself and stop the binge before it got out of hand.

Yesterday was the last day of school, the kids are home today and I've already gotten 2 calls from DD9... One of them was "Do I have to have taquitos for lunch? Because DS13 says I have to..." and the next call, about 45min later, was "Can I have a 100 cal pack of cookies for dessert?". And so the fun begins... :rolleyes1

We were supposed to go to our friend's daughter's graduation last night, but it was raining so we didn't go (all graduations are held outside here)! It's actually been raining on-and-off since Wed, which is highly unusual for this time of year. DD9 actually sat outside on the curb, in the rain, for 10-15 minutes when she got home from school. Just sitting there! Poor little AZ girl says she loves the rain because she rarely gets to see it! :laughing:

For Thursday:
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: 6" Subway on honey oat, turkey, spinach, lettuce, pickles, mustard; Baked Lays
S: huge brownie :confused3
S: 2 handfuls almonds; ~15 Nutter Butter bites
D: baked lemon chicken breast; asparagus; HC fudge bar

E: none :sad2:

Amy, thanks for making excuses for me, but I think I have just gotten lazy! :rotfl: The kids are gone for 2 whole weeks, which always makes me :sad1: after about 3 days. I am trying to line up a bunch of dinners w/friends to keep my mind off the fact that they are gone.

Ugh. I drank WAY too much wine last night! And a couple jello shots to boot. At least I stayed away from the tequila. Needless to say, I am worn out this morning and will not be going to the gym... I think the plan is to go work on the yard at the rental, but I am not sure since my brother, his friend and his friend's girlfriend are here until tomorrow. So I'm just gonna relax for now while DH is dropping a bunch of stuff off at the dump!

For Friday:
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: spinach salad w/chicken, cheese, LF dressing
S: 2 egg whites, 10 baby carrots
D: grilled tri-tip, 1/4c pasta salad, cucumber, 3 white chocolate macadamia nut cookies :rolleyes1

Plus 1.5 bottles white wine and 3 jello shots :eek:

Tracy, I am still working on getting rid of the weight from my UK trip! It's frustrating, but at least I am not gaining.

Hi Amy. Congrats on getting the rental done. It has been a long process for you. I hope you have some really great renters who will appreciate all of the work you have put into the place. :wizard:

Congrats on the new clothes also. I love new clothes.

Wow Amy! I just realized that you are less than 3 weeks away from your vacation!!!!:cool1: Is everyone getting excited?

I hope you have a great day today!:hug:

We ended up going out to dinner last night, which was nice, but I ate WAY too many chips and salsa. I did avoid my fave pomegranate margarita though, which is a major accomplishment (my stomach was just not quite ready for more alcohol!)

Today we are planning to work on the yard at the rental. Or maybe DH will go and I will clean the house here. Who knows... I like not having things that absolutely HAVE to be done right away!! It's a nice break.

For Saturday:
B: mini wheats w/skim milk
L: FlatOut bread w/chicken lunchmeat; cheese; spinach; mustard; 100 cal pack Baked Cheetos
S: way too many Nutter Butter bites :rolleyes1
D: chips-n-salsa; shrimp taco; salmon taco; 1 scoop Baseball Nut ice cream in cup

E: none :sad2:

eyor44, one of our friends is renting the place, he just got remarried (to his HS sweetheart!). They really like it, which makes me feel that all the sweat and soreness was worth it!

Tracy, honestly I have been too busy to get excited! The kids are at their dad's for the next 2 weeks, then they come back for a week, then they leave. I will be in the UK the week they come back, so the next time I will see them will be at the airport in London on June 13! :eek:

Way to go avoiding the margarita!!!:cool1: It does sound yummy though. ;)

You'll be seeing the kids before you know it.:hug: Then you'll all have a wonderful time in Europe. :cloud9:

Have a great day!:hug:

I could get used to this 3-day weekend thing! ;) I did not end up going to the rental at all yesterday, DH did though, and got a lot of yard work done. Still more to be done, but baby steps... Today I will be going to the gym, then cleaning the kids' rooms. They are "clean" according to them, but not according to MY standards! I do this about once or twice a year, and throw a bunch of junk out. Funny thing is that they never notice what is missing... :confused3

For Sunday:
B: chocolate oatmeal
L: FlatOut bread w/chicken lunchmeat, spinach, cheddar, mustard; 100 cal pack Sun Chips, 2 graham crackers
S: handful almonds; 4 Swiss chocolate thins
D: fiesta turkey pie; broccoli; HC fudge bar

E: none, unless floating in the pool counts :guilty:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tracy, these next few weeks are going to fly by. I will see the kids on Sat for DD's dance recital, so that will be nice.
Hi Amy, sorry I've been MIA!
A little wine and jello shots never hurt anybody in the long run! Good thing, or I'd bee dead.;) Chips and salsa, always a downfall of mine, esp. after a night of wine and jello shots! Good job skipping the margarita!
I'll be thinking about you while your kids are gone. Definitely line up those dinners to help you make the time go faster. I guess its good they spend time with their dad but I know how much you must miss them. And I bet they miss you too and come to appreciate you and your dh.
I think all things considered, the scale reflects good news! And proves you are never as bad as you think you are when it comes to food!
Its been raining here all weekend. That is so sweet about your dd, lucky littel AZ girl that she is!
Today I will be going to the gym, then cleaning the kids' rooms. They are "clean" according to them, but not according to MY standards!
I hear ya on that one, Amy!!!:thumbsup2 My kids idea of clean and my idea of clean are two different things.:rolleyes: I can't tell you how many times my girls have said that their rooms were clean and then they had to spend another hour or so cleaning it to my standards. ;) It's one of those things where you say, " If I had a dollar for every time you told me your room was clean and it really wasn't, I'd be rich!":laughing:
Three day weekends are nice, aren't they? I'm glad that you were able to relax a bit.:goodvibes
I hope you have a great day ahead!:hug:
Too funny about your DD & the rain. My DD & I are exactly the same way! Rain is a MAJOR event!!
Glad the rental is done. Can't believe your trip is almost here. You will have such a wonderful time!!
Don't beat yourself up too much over the scale. Scales, like female reproductive organs, are EVIL!!!
