I've been previously convinced that the only way to truly enjoy fireworks shows (MK and EP specifically) is to purchase a dessert party with viewing. We've done HEA dessert party 3 times in the past 2 years and the Frozen dessert party for Illuminations once in 2018. We bought all of them for the viewing. The alcohol at the Illuminations thing was nice and so was the ride at park closing, but the food at all of them is just kind of ... meh. Now that the Illuminations party is no more... I need to know. Is watching the fireworks without these prime viewing spots just as good? I am not at all interested in fighting giant crowds at MK to see HEA. We are DVC members and will be at the Poly in May and CC (WL) in October. What are the fireworks like without seeing the castle projections and story? We CRY watching that, y'all. And at Epcot, is the new show as good without that Illuminations dessert party premium spot? There is a FP for that one, right? Do you have to arrive hours before the show? My dream is to watch fireworks from my balcony at WL or the beach at the Poly and have that warmy-warm happy magical feeling... for anyone who has done both- does that happen?
