Lost wallets and broken bones. But at least we didn’t lose the dog this time!

This is why I don't usually read trip reports until they're finished!! I HAVE to know if you got that wallet back (being a person who has left her wallet/purse in public places more times than I'd care to mention, I know how it feels). I wish I'd been able to talk to your daughter before Crush N Gusher. Even I went on it this past trip and I don't do coasters. It was fun. But I know how that fear thing goes.

I'm in for another trip report.

Thanks for detailing your time at the water park. I hope your wallet was recovered.

I couldn't find as much info on wait times at the water parks before our trip so I'm trying to include as much as possible. :)

I am crossing my fingers hoping that your wallet is returned. You are way saner than me. The whole "missing wallet saga" would have consumed me.

I admit it was bothering me but I didn't want the girls to have a bad first day.

Yikes, you can't leave us hanging overnight. I'm sure hoping someone turned it in with everything in tact. popcorn::

Great TR, on the edge of my seat.

Thanks.

Yikes! What a way to start a trip.

It could have been worse I'm sure. :thumbsup2

popcorn::

Don't leave us hanging.....:laundy:

Sorry I didn't mean to leave you hanging. I'll finish the first day right now. :thumbsup2

Please continue the report. Enquiring minds need to know if you get the wallet back.

Sorry! Work and real life got in the way of my TR. :goodvibes

I only seem to lose things at DW! :lmao:

I thought it was mild compared to some of the other rides she went on during the week. In hindsight, I should have made her get out of line but I did that at EE last year and she was disappointed the rest of the day. Can seem to win. ;)

I didn't mean to leave ya hanging for so long! Here is the conclusion to day one:

We at hot dogs for dinner and went to the Settlement Trading Post to find a lanyard for DN. The girls also traded some pins and got some pressed pennies while we were there. Side note: I ordered pins from Ebay before we left. I got them for about $1.25 a pin and the girls had no trouble trading them. Much cheaper than the pins at DW. :thumbsup2

When we got back to the RV we were surprised to see a note underneath our windshield wiper. It said someone had turned in our wallet at Disney Quest and it was waiting for us there!!:banana:

Disney Quest doesn’t close until 11:00 and it was only 8:00 so I hopped in the golf cart and headed to the bus stop. :thumbsup2 DH stayed with the girls and got them in bed since we had a big day planned tomorrow.

I parked the golf cart as I watched the DTD bus pull away. :headache: Another bus arrived shortly. The traffic was terrible at DTD since it was Friday night but eventually we got to Pleasure Island.

I was smiling all the way to DQ and went to the guest relations window. I showed the CM my note and the only photo ID I had – my college ID from 10 years ago. :lmao: Luckily, my driver’s license was still in the wallet and he was able to use that photo to verify my identity.

He handed over the wallet as I jumped up and down. I was so happy to see my license, credit card and RV key. But you’re not going to believe what else was in the wallet……………….drum role………….all the cash!!!!! :woohoo: I was shocked. There are honest people out there! I never expected to get the cash back.

I stopped and got fudge for family as an “I’m sorry I tried to sabotage our trip but look I got the wallet back with the cash” present. I was practically skipping back to the bus stop. :yay:

I walked up as bus pulled away.:headache: Oh well, at least I can sit on the bench and enjoy the peace and quiet of not having the kids with me. Unfortunately there was a 40 year old kid beside me. This guy was so ridiculous I thought I was on some hidden camera TV show. He really wanted to get back to Wilderness Lodge. He would pace back and forth mumbling about DW transportation. The when a bus rounded the corner he would stand at the curb, yell and throw up his hands, “NO!! OLD KEY WEST! OLD KEY WEST!” and “NO! ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE!”. His kids and wife were calm and sat on the bench playing with their build-a-dinos and ignoring him. Then he spotted this poor bus driver waiting to relieve another driver and started interrogating her. “When was the last bus to Wilderness Lodge?” “ Don’t you have a schedule?” and my favorite “Why are there not more busses to Wilderness Lodge since I paid more for my room?”. Seriously! The bus driver actually suggested he take a cab. :lmao:

I was hugging and kissing my wallet when a noticed a small note at the bottom. It was from the lady who turned it in! All it said was that she found the wallet on a bus going from the DTD market place to Peasure Island and that it had cash in it when she turned it into to guest relations. But...it also had her phone number, name and the hotel she was staying. I called the number and left a message. Something like, "Thank you!Thank you!Thank you!Thank you!Thank you!Thank you!Thank you!Thank you!Thank you!Thank you!Thank you!Thank you!Thank you!

Give me a call. I want to send a reward to your hotel.Thank you!Thank you!Thank you!"

She didn't call back so I tried her later in the week but her mailbox was full. So I called the hotel but they said no one with that first name was staying there. I've tried the phone number once since we got home but it is disconnected. I really want to send her a reward so I'm still hoping she will call me.

Eventually, I made it back to FW and was asleep by 11:00.

Yay!!! Great ending.
But I wonder why the person didn't just turn it into the bus driver instead of going all the way to DQ with it. People must leave things on buses all the time. Plus the bus driver would know someone was looking for it if he/she were contacted by radio.

Wow, that is great news on your wallet. I, too, was anxiously awaiting to hear the results. Hope the rest of the trip turns out as well.

Great report so far! I lost my wallet too during our 2006 trip. I about had a heart attack. It was at HS. I didn't realize it was missing for a few hours and then I had to think back to everything I had done to find it. Low and behold it was where I thought it was with the CM's in the Animation building. With all of my cash and credit cards inside.
I honestly think Disney is the only place where people are honest. :)

My best guess is that she didn't trust the bus driver. :confused3 Judging by the time she turned it in at DQ, the bus left TL with my wallet, went to FW, then DTD marketplace where he picked up the lady who found my wallet, she found it before the Pleasure Island stop where she got off and took the wallet to DQ-I'm assuming becuase she was already going there. The wallet was turned in within an hour of my losing it so the bus could not have made another trip.

If she had turned it in to the bus driver, he would have held it until the end of his shift and then turned it into central lost and found where they would have matched it up with my missing item report. I found that out later that even if the bus driver found the wallet after being radioed, he wouldn't be allowed to turn it in to a CM at FW only central lost and found. At least that is what central lost and found said.

Wow, that is great news on your wallet. I, too, was anxiously awaiting to hear the results. Hope the rest of the trip turns out as well.

Thanks. :goodvibes It was a relief to find it.

Sarah

Only at Disney! :lovestruc I swear I would turn in a wallet with cash but I have no faith that anyone else would do the same. :)

Loving your report & multimedia presentation. :D That was fantastic of the CMs at TL to let you in. They turned what could have stayed as a horrible memory of a day lost into a fantastic memory. Those guys (and gals) are the best!

btw - the BB ticketing CMs are just as great! Any problems? Go to them!

Thank goodness you got your wallet back with your cash and credit cards. It proves that there are some good people left in this world.

I just love happy endings. :yay:

Me too. :lovestruc Especially when it involves cash!

I am in. So glad you got your wallet back!:thumbsup2

It was very nice of them to let us in. The girls would have been so disappointed.

Yes there are. :lovestruc I tried to call her again this weekend but I think her phone is disconnected. I've never worked this hard to give someone a reward. :lmao:

The day I looked forward to most! Our first day at the MK is always the best. Everyone is so energetic and excited. We race from one ride to another with huge smiles on our face. And of course I love that first glimpse of the castle! Today was also the designated park for gay days. :rainbow: In the past, we have found MK to be less crowded because of gay days and we hoped for the same luck.

I got up early and made Mickey waffles and bacon. I love getting a chance to drink my coffee before the kids wake up. We tried something new this trip and set up an outdoor kitchen. I had a table with an electric griddle, waffle maker and camping stove that runs off propane. I kept gallon water outside and had a plastic container for pots, pans, measuring cups, spatulas, etc. It was a lot easier than cooking inside the RV. Our counter top is the size of a deck of cards and our exhaust fan over the stove doesn’t do anything except make a lot of noise.

We were too impatient to wait for the boat to the MK which doesn’t run until 8:30 so we caught the boat to the Contemporary about 7:45.

287.jpg

Then we slowly made our way to the monorail stopping for pressed pennies, photos and bathroom breaks along the way.

The opening show was adorable as always and I love the new “memories” decorations. The only change I noticed was the fireworks instead of streamers at the end.

309.jpg

315.jpg

DN doesn’t look excited at all?

312.jpg

We are off to Tomorrowland.

320.jpg

322.jpg

I walked ahead since I was on a mission.

324.jpg

Yum…..Popcorn.

326.jpg

No popcorn. Focus on the mission: FPs for Space Mountain.

325.jpg

I met DD, DN and DH at Astro Orbiter. The CM said AO is the tallest ride in the park. I did not know that. We waited about 5 minutes. We were the 2nd ride of the day. Call me crazy but I think Astro Orbiter is better than Dumbo. :rolleyes1 I love the view.

327.jpg

328.jpg

Next was Tomorrowland Speedway with a 5 minute wait.

She will be driving for real in 6 years!

347.jpg

Look, no hands!

315.jpg

Even thought DN was tall enough to ride by herself, she had trouble holding the petal down. I’m glad I rode with her.

DH looks like he can't wait to get out of the car. :)

359.jpg

Next we met Alice and Rabbit.

360.jpg

367.jpg

Eliza, your girls are so sweet! (My Daughter always stuck her tongue out at the camera. my sons never did this - but my only girl? yeesh.)

Don't you just want to freeze time and keep them young?

Thanks. :lovestruc DD turns 7 next month. I told her I would think about it but I prefer that she stay 6 another year. :)

The line for Rapunzel was long. We planned to fit it in on Tues.

371.jpg

We made our way to Frontierland and stopped to meet Frontier Donald. He drew a heart around Daisy in the girl’s autograph books.

379.jpg

Splash was down! So the FPs had a later than normal return time. Oh well, I got 4 with an 11:25 return time.

BTMR only had a 10 minute wait so we rode that. Last time DD was still a little scared on BTMR so we were happy when she loved it!

393.jpg

394.jpg

Both girls wanted to ride it again.

384.jpg

392.jpg

Splash Mountain was still closed so we headed to Adventureland.

Pirates had a 5 minute wait. Both girls loved it.

Magic Carpets of Aladdin was a walk on. The camel spit on me. How rude! It was a direct hit. DD won the coin toss and got to pilot the carpet. I don't know what difference it makes since they both go as high as they can and stay there. :)

401.jpg

408.jpg

Aladdin and Jasmine were out and the girls were ready for a snack so I stood in line while they sat in the shade and ate some crackers. I waited about 15 minutes.

410.jpg

421.jpg

Jasmine said she takes Abu to the water parks sometime but he has to wear floaties in the wave pool. She said it’s hard to get the smell of wet monkey out of the magic carpet. :lmao: The girls were laughing so hard.

I swear this is the same Aladdin and Jasmine as last year. Photo evidence:

128.jpg
421.jpg

DD is wearing the same crocs.

Next we rode Haunted Mansion. The posted wait time was 25 minutes but it was less than 10. We didn’t see the new cemetery because we planned to come back later in the week. The line splits and you can either go the scenic route or straight to the stretching room. I think the posted time includes the cemetery.

426.jpg

As always, I took amazing photos in HM. :lmao:

430.jpg

428.jpg

DH took the girls to the carousel while I got FPs for Mickey. The return time 12:05 and I got them about 11:30. Mickey only had a 10 minute wait but since I had walked all the way to the front of the park, I got them anyway. FYI: You can get another FP after an hour with the Mickey/Princess FPs if the return time is longer than an hour unlike ride FPs where you have to wait 2 hours.

We met in Tomorrowland. The girls were talking about getting smoothies/ice cream but we rode TTA first. Love this ride.

435.jpg

"Looks like DN is too tired for a smoothie".

438.jpg

Oh look she’s up now. :lmao:

439.jpg

Yummy!!!!

440.jpg

Very Yummy!!

443.jpg

Mickey and Minnie wait was only 15 mins when we returned but we walked right in with the FPs. Minnie was there too!! Mickey spent a ton of time with the girls.

447.jpg

448.jpg

468.jpg

We decided to get FPs for the princesses on our way out. We were back at the campground by 12:45.

Bye MK!

465.jpg

We ate a light lunch and rested in the AC. I called lost and found and cancelled our report.

So, now you can get fastpasses to see the characters? If so, is this at a certain place in the parks?
