LOST - Last Season (NO SPOILERS)

Wow, the numbers make another appearance. Why was Kate's name on the wall as a contestant when she too was touched by Jacob?

I don't think anyone can make sense of this with the little we know at this point. Here is what we know though.

Locke was 4
Hurley was 8
Sawyer was 15
Sayid was 16
Jack was 23
Jin or Sun (or both) was 42

If 42 is indeed Jin, that would make them all male. I tend to think Jin and Sun are viewed as 1 entity because they were touched at the exact same time and it wasn't till after getting married. Another interesting thing to note is, Kate and Sawyer were the only ones touched as children. Would that make Jin and Sun, Adam and Eve? Would it mean that Sawyer and Kate are destined to be together? Who knows!

I am still so confused. Just hanging in here till we get some real resolution.

Some more thoughts on Smokey/Black Shirt pretending to be Jacob:

Jacob seemed to be a "hands off" guy - let the humans make their own decisions and hopefully learn from them. Even before Ben killed him, Jacob told Ben that he didn't have to do what Locke was telling him to do, that he (Ben) could stop.

Maybe all along, when Richard and the Others thought they were following Jacob's orders, maybe they were really following Smokey/Black Shirt? This conflict between Jacob and Smokey/Black Shirt has been going on for years, maybe centuries.

Very good thinking, kind of makes sense.;)

I hope not!!! :crazy2:

I loved Ben last night!! So funny, seeing him as a whiny teacher.

So, you think Flocke and Sawyer are going to try to make it off the island? Gee, who here thinks that will succeed? :rotfl:

Love the fact that Locke and Helen were still together, and getting married. :lovestruc She said something about inviting his dad though, so I guess in the paralled daddy dearest didn't try to kill Locke by shoving him out a window? Do, I wonder what happened to him? Maybe Jack really can help him?

I think my poor DH has bruises on him from when Sawyer almost fell off the cliff. DON'T TAKE MY EYE CANDY!!!

So the statement "we are seeing what would have happened if the plane never crashed" isn't entirely accurate because the some of the events prior to boarding the plane are different. I am confused about why the alternate timeline is so, um, alternate. I thought that when the bomb went off it was supposed to simply stop the plane from crashing 27 years later.

No comment on last week's episode because it was so filler-y; how disappointing for the 2nd episode. Nobody likes Kate or Jack so stop making episodes all about them! :rotfl:

Thoughts on little boy in the woods? Dh thinks it was somehow/ some form of JAcob. Also, the little boy said, "You can't kill him." Did he mean Sawyer? Or did he mean Jacob, as in although you killed the body he inhabited, Jacob is still "alive."

I'm thinking that he meant Sawyer.

I've been so busy that when I looked at the clock, I downright started freaking out that I'd missed tonight's episode (even though I am recording it and could probably find it online afterward). I am SUPER eager to see it tonight. This is the show the producers were speaking of when they said that Losties would become even more obnoxious after seeing. One place in Chicago even opened some sort of hall up so people could escape living with their Lostie family members for a bit. :lmao:

I don't know about everybody else, but I wasunderwhelmed at last night's episode. Yes, we see each of their names linked to a number (except for Kate) and written on the ceiling of a cave. But what else did we learn? Richard is really freaked out now that he knows who "Locke" really is.

We didn't see Kate's name last night (although there were so many things written and scratched out on that cave ceiling), but I guess 32 is the only number missing, so that's Kate? She's the only one Jacob touched who isn't linked to a number.

Yep, I noticed that Helen suggested inviting Locke's dad to their wedding. Apparently, Locke's paralysis was caused by something else. Unfortunately, since Helen tore up Jack's busienss card, looks like they won't be seeking Jack's help.

Nope, the bomb changed the past for everybody from that date in 1977 all the way to the present. That's why Ben is now a teacher in the alternate timeline - at some point he left the island and is living a "normal" (for all we know) life.

And it was strange that Richard couldn't see the little boy but Sawyer and Locke/MIB could. Wonder what that's about?

I thought it was Jacob too. I thought maybe he meant Richard since he can't age and he had him hanging in a tree (???)
This episode left me with more questions than answers. I think when Flocke threw the white stone in the water, he was saying he is the bad guy and he's won. It seemed to me that that the lair he took Sawyer to had to be the smoke monster's --humans sure had a hard time getting there. So, could he be lying about who wrote the names on the wall? AND, if Jacob wrote them to get a candidate for taking over for him, I think that Hurley is the one---he's the one who can see dead people, the #s brought him bad luck but without the island he is lucky. ARGH--who knows!? :confused3

Wasn't the smoke monster's point of view at the beginning creepy?!?

Oh, I had another thought about this. Know how MIB told Jacob how much he wanted to kill him and that he would find a loophole? Since he got Ben to kill Jacob, he thinks he found the loophole and that Jacob is now dead.

BUT remember my theory I posted last Thurs/Fri: when Jacob touched each of the Losties, he passed along some of his power. Thus, Jacob's power (all? some? we don't know how much) is now spread among the people he touched - Jack, Sayid, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, Sun and Jin, Locke. (That's why I think it's so important that they all be together in the temple - to harness Jacob's power to defeat MIB.)

So maybe when the little boy said "you can't kill him" - he meant both Sawyer and Jacob. He can't kill Sawyer because part of Jacob "lives" in Sawyer.

And before someone says something about Locke being dead even though Jacob gave him some of his power, BEN is the one who killed Locke, not MIB. Now, what happened to the part of Jacob's power that he transferred to Locke, I have no idea. Hopefully (if my theory is correct) we'll learn that as the season progresses.

**And since I'm not only a fan of Disney but also Universal/Islands of Adventure, I think it's cool that we can refer to the the guy in the black shirt at "MIB" - also the acronym of my favorite ride at USF - Men In Black.:rotfl2:

I forgot to mention the stone thing. Black and white stones on a scale - good and evil in balance. MIB threw away the white stone - Jacob is dead, good is gone.

I'm also not sure Sawyer will "go home" with MIB/Locke. Sawyer is a smart cookie - he prob. knows more about Richard than we think, since he spent 3 years as part of Dharma dealing with Richard and the Others. I think Sawyer is just hanging with MIB/Locke long enough to figure out whether siding with Richard or MIB/Locke will be more beneficial to him (Sawyer). Sawyer's a con man at heart - always looking out for himself.

But I think in the end, Sawyer will do whatever it takes to save his friends, the Losties.

I agree and thought the same thing about Sawyer--he's got street smarts and will save the day!!

However, he did call from his cell phone so the number is stored in there, unless he clears it.

Also, I'm sure he could probably call 411 or look in the yellow pages under spinal surgeon and could find him, if he truly wanted to.

I took it as, the boy had run off by the time Richard looked over there, so he just missed seeing him. Of course, I could be totally wrong. With this show, that is normally the way my guesses go. :rotfl:

............. Nobody likes Kate or Jack so stop making episodes all about them! :rotfl:

Excuse me??? Please speak for yourself. I'll take a clean-cut, gorgeous doctor :lovestruc over a conman who looks like he hasn't seen a shower in a month any day of the week and twice on Sunday!!! I know Sawyer has many fans/followers so he won't miss me but he skeeves me out with his dirty, stringy hair and unshaved & disheveled appearance. You guys can have him.

Gee, Katey Sagal sure has a thing for guys with wheels :lmao:

I didn't DVR this one so I can't go back and check but... did anyone else catch that the first time the boy appeared in the woods (when MIB was with Richard) he seemed to have blood on his arms? That was my initial thought but it was so fast I couldn't really tell.

My husband thinks the boy was Jacob. In some weird, freaky form. I also think the boy was reminding MIB that he couldn't kill Jacob, not Sawyer.

If the "boy" was Jacob and MIB recognized him as such, it makes you wonder just how long MIB and Jacob have been on the island. And if THEY were "brought" there (aka shipwrecked) by someone or something themselves once upon a time.

I swear this show is going to give me an aneurysm. I did like last night's episode though. Although, I'd appreciate a few more answers at this point instead of being left with more questions.

I definitely think it was blood on his arms, but what the significance was of that, who knows? :confused3
