LOST - Last Season (NO SPOILERS)

I don't want him either! :rotfl:

I'm all about Jin. :lovestruc

But as far as storylines go, I could do without anymore like this:

Jack: "We HAVE to do this."
Some other character: "Jack says we have to do this so we'll do it."
Cue disaster due to Jack's decision.
Closeup on Jack, crying

I don't like Jack OR Sawyer. Locke is my favorite man, although I don't like Flocke at all.:guilty:

I always had this thing for older men and I think Mr. Clean is just about perfect!

I'm starting to wonder if it isn't Locke that's been the dark side luring everyone to the island all along. His name is crossed off the list (my his own hand). He's seen the island and said it's beautiful. He's tried repeatedly to keep anyone from leaving the island. Back before Michael and Walt took off on the raft, Walt touched him and kind of pulled away from him like he saw something (we assumed it was whatever was in the hatch). He went out of his way to protect Aaron from Charlie back in season 2. He's always gotten the dark and light side of things all along.

I know we'd need more of an explanation to get totally on board if this were the case, but does anyone think it's possible?

I am anxious to see what Sawyer does with Flocke- follow or run?
How about neither? I think Sawyer has decided to pull one last long con -- because he thinks that's his only real option. FLocke -- I prefer to call him the Locke-ness Monster -- is trying to trick Sawyer, I believe. And you know what they say -- Never con a con man.

Also, I still think Ben is going to play a major role. He will still look for a way to manipulate things to his advantage.

But Desmond, I think, is the key.

Yep, I agree that MIB is trying to trick Sawyer. MIB/Locke/Smokey probably can't leave the island on his own (for reasons unknown to us) and needs one of Jacob's "candidates" to help him. MIB kept talking about how he was "trapped" on the island and just wants to get home. And remember how Ilana said that MIB couldn't change into anyone else now, and that he's "stuck" as Locke? Maybe MIB/Locke/Smokey could take the form of (or inhabit) someone else for only a certain length of time - maybe some limit imposed by Jacob?? But now that Jacob's dead, whatever form MIB was in when Jacob died is the form he's stuck with? Just thinking out loud..........

I also agree that Sawyer sees right through MIB/Locke and knows he's lying about something. Sawyer is only going along with MIB as a way to gather information.

And you may be right about Desmond, but they're not giving us much to go on. He HAS to play a major role somehow.

I wonder where Desmond is in the altered timeline.
He (along with Sideways Sawyer) is one of the big question marks in the sideways timeline, isn't he? We know he's there, but he was probably one of the characters most heavily manipulated by island connections in the original timeline -- connections that are either absent or at least very different in the new timeline. Therefore, it's anyone's guess what he might be up to at this point. I'm sure we'll find out soon. Whatever it is and whatever he has been doing, I expect that he is or will be heavily involved with Sideways Charlie, mirroring the connection between the two on the island in the original timeline.

I have a theory about Sideways Jack's mysterious minor wound on the plane (when he examined himself in the plane's lavatory). I think that was a symbolic clue that the original timeline is literally bleeding through to the new one. Other clues to this are his puzzled looks at Desmond and Kate, indicating an almost-remembered familiarity with them. Of course, he directly questions Desmond about this out of a fuzzy sense of deja vu. He might have remembered his touristad encounter with Desmond from years earlier -- but I have serious doubts as to whether that encounter would have happened at all in the new timeline.

I think something has changed with Desmond's timeline. He was in the seat next to Jack when Jack was called away for Charlie's medical emergency. When Jack returned, Desmond was gone. Charlie told Jack he was supposed to die. In the original timeline, Charlie and Desmond both went to the underwater hatch, and Charlie was the one that died. Perhaps now that Charlie is living in the sideways timeline, Desmond has died or been relocated.

I'm not sure that he can't leave the island on his own. It may be possible, but that's going under the assumption that he's not referring to Heaven or Hell as home (or anywhere else that might be viewed similarly). He may be able to roam around at will on planet Earth. He may not too, I agree that too is possible.

I think the poster who said earlier that it's likely he could still transform into smokey is probably right (forget who said it and it might be in the other thread). Remember the smoke circling around the house that Sawyer considered home? I think that shows that he can be smokey and/or Flocke. I agree that it appears he can't take the form of another person (at least for now).

As for Sawyer, he's never really trusted anyone to this point, he's not about to change his spots now..

Just wanted to clarify my Flocke/Sawyer comment. I do think that Flocke is tricking/manipulating him, and Sawyer knows it. When I said will he follow or run I really meant more along the lines of will he go along with it or will he take off either to find the others or to fulfill his own agenda. Didn't mean he would run away, cuz that I just can't imagine!

Crossed my mind as well, but it's awfully hokey if it is! Unless it was just thrown in for someones amusement.

Why would it be hokey? Lost has always had biblical references.

Can I just say I love you guys?! Someone always has some wonderful insight each week that always reinforces my love for this show.

You are all still reading Ack right? (If you don't know the Ack Attack is a website where the author recaps each episode. She is hilarious!!)

Forgot to add my tidbit...in Locke's box of stuff he's carting around after being fired...there is a picture of him hunting with his dad...

Now I'm going to have to go back and watch that part again!! I love how there is so much tossed into the show that it takes lots of opinions/interpretations to even try and make sense of it all.

The writers of this show, IMO, are the cream of the crop. I've never watched a show that had so much attention to detail.

This is one of the funniest things I've ever read.

And the craziest thing is that Richard couldn’t see him!!!! I mean – usually when some crazy *** hallucination pops up in the jungle we’re like “No worries it’s just the Smoke Monster playing tricks” but WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN THE FREAKING SMOKE MONSTER IS SEEING ****???

I loved
"Lost n00bs: This is totally purgatory"

Okay, so I have a theory. It's not a spoiler but I'm still going to post it in white. Highlight to read.

I think that Hurley's and Locke's alternate reality is so different because, with the island blowing up in the 70's, Jacob never touched them. Hurley is lucky now, Locke is happy, etc. and it's all because they haven't been chosen as candidates in that reality. Rose still has cancer because Jacob never touched her. It was going to be that way not matter what. The "candidates", however, are leading very different lives in this reality and I believe it is because they were never "chosen". As Flocke said (if he was telling the truth), Jacob has been pulling the strings of the "candidates" free will all along.

Just a theory. Thoughts?
