LOST - Last Season (NO SPOILERS)

We actually got to see that last season. Remember Jin came upon Rousseau on the beach when she shot her fiance...the bodies of the rest of the team were on the beach.

Ahh, that's right! These seasons are starting to blur together. I feel like I know things, but I can't remember if I actually saw them on the show or just drew my own conclusions. :upsidedow

And I'd forgotten that was Roussou....I do think that is what they think has infected Sayid/Claire. I believe that the Temple people are there at Jacob's instruction to protect the Losties........the big question is why Jacob brought them all there??

I think that the sideways timeline is to show us that island or no island these people's fates were intertwined and they were meant to meet and impact each other.

What about the 12 tribes of Israel? Jacob's 12 sons, with the last being Benjamin? Is it possible that another character could be representative of Jacob's fraternal twin brother, Esau?

EDIT: Could the numbers represent scripture?

Wow, I was afraid to bring up too many references but these are amazing!

That island sure is full of secrets...

I have no idea how they can possibly tie everything up and explain everything that has happened by the end of the season. AND THEY'D BETTER DO IT. God help them if they leave us hanging or have some trumped up "gotcha" ending. I will hunt Lindelof and Cuse down like dogs.

Yeah! Like the end of St Elsewhere or Bob Newhart! Or even worse, Dallas!!!

Well, this episode did solve one thing for me. It verified for me the reasons why I have never liked Kate. She is a selfish, self-serving, manipulative person. Everything that she does is to benefit herself.

Yes, I know, she did go back for Claire after carjacking her and kicking her out in the middle of nowhere with nothing. It seemed so false though and I hated her more for doing it. I don't now why.:confused3 Maybe it's because I feels like it's being done just so we will like her.

I think this post below is why she went back. And that's why we saw Ethan.

They've said that it won't be a stupid cop-out ending, specifically no dreams or them all actually being dead or something like that.

I can totally see where everything is going in general. It's how it's going to get there and how much will they tell us about after the "final" event.

Well I'm glad someone can. Cause I am confused...er...LOST!

Jack was another one who got on my last nerve last night. I can understand the whole "lets not trust the people who tried to kill Sayid" and all, but he just really sucks as a leader. Here is a person who couldn't even get his own alcoholic life together, yet he thinks he has the ability to run the lives and fate of others? :headache: Just about all his decisions are bad in the outcome. Love the fact that the idiot swallowed the pill. :rotfl: This should be fun. :rolleyes1

No, I do not think that Sayid is being inhabited with Jacob. I believe that due to the fact that the water was dirty and that he really did die afterward and was given up on by the others that he is being inhabited by something else. The pill was going to kill that something else. I think that when they did this with young Ben, the water was clean and there was never any need for a pill to be taken.

Claire though; they did say that she did not take the pill and that what was inhabiting Sayid would grow and consume him like it did Claire. (Or at least that was my interpretation.) So, what is inhabiting Claire and I assume her father if it is not something that the others are cool with? Something that is on the side of Flocke and is in opposition to Jacob and The Others.

Who is good and bad though? I heard that we should all re watch that episode in the first season that had Locke and Walt playing chess on the beach. That we should listen closely to Locke's description of the white and black pieces. The producers did say that we will question ourselves in regards to who is good and who is evil. So.......is Jacob really good? When we first say Jacob on the beach with the other guy. The one who said that he really wanted to kill Jacob. I remember him saying something to Jacob about the fact that a boat was going to crash on the island, because Jacob had brought them there. He seemed almost disgusted with Jacob. Playing with people's lives for his own enjoyment. Didn't strike me as something someone "good" would do.

I'm going to reserve judgment on Flock at this time because I'm starting to wonder if maybe Jacob really is a bad guy after all. This island and the people that have ended up on it are nothing more then amusements to him. Toys that he plays with.

I think they were playing backgammon, not chess.

I'm thinking that Flocke is good and Jacob is evil, too, but who really knows at this point?

I really like Jack and Kate though. I guess I never stopped to see Kate as being selfish and I can see your point now that I think about it. I still like her though. As for Jack, well, turning his father in took more courage than I'd have ever had in a similar situation. He's not perfect, but I think he did the best he could leading the group and I'm not sure anyone else could have done a better job. Locke perhaps, but he was off trying to find himself too often to have been a good leader. I did once read that Kate was originally to be the leader, but I don't think she could have done better than Jack. Especially considering his medical training. He was just naturally trusted.

I don't think he swallowed the poison though. I think he emptied the capsule and just swallowed that shell without what was in it. I'm thinking he's going to pretend to fake symptoms and when everyone thinks he's really weak, he's going to plan some sort of escape. He may even use that poison on someone else to pull that escape off?!?!

He didn't swallow it---he coughed it up when Temple leader choked it out of him.
I really thought Kate was selfish to lead Jin out into the jungle and then leave him with an "oh well"....that was just mean-spirited. I thought it was appropriate that when she said to Sawyer "I'm sorry I followed you" he said "which time"--she deserved that.

Yeah, I can see why they did it, I just don't agree with how they did it. Kate pulls up in the cab and gets out with this stupid sheepish grin on her face like "oops". I mean come on. She put a gun on her, Clair was scared to death, as anyone would be. Then she just shows up like everything is cool? :headache:

Yup, you are right. It was backgammon.

The Temple leader did the heimlech on him and it landed on the floor. So, if the outside of the capsule was this potent, imagine how bad the stuff inside must be. :scared1:

Yes, I loved that line from Sawyer, it was so perfect when it came to her. The end, when she was crying.......why? Was it because she felt so bad for Sawyer? Because she felt some of the blame? Maybe because she realized that she didn't have a shot at Sawyer now would have to go back to Jack?:rotfl2:

I recorded it and will now have to watch it again. I had thought they got it up, but the way they were talking made me think they hadn't.

Thanks to both of you for clearing that up. I thought they had gotten it out, but then he sat asking what it was, I don't know what made me think I'd been mistaken. I guess them telling him what it was kind of thru me for a loop. Why would they tell him anything at that point?

I thought she was crying because she loved him and realized it wasn't reciprocated.

Why does everyone keep saying Jack swallowed the pill?? He clearly spit it out when Dogen heimliched/beat the crap out of him. The only reason Jack was doubled over afterwards was from the beating he took.

I'm lost.

I've been hooked on the show from the very first episode and have been called upon time after time to explain the show to friends/family members. And have done so with ease. But all that is now lost (pun intended) because this flash-sideways thing has thrown me for a loop. Flashbacks I understand. Flash forwards are cool. But what on earth is a "flash sideways"? Is it actually happening? Is it showing us what could happen? What did happen? At first I thought what happened on the island with Juliet detonating the bomb was what was causing them to be on the plane. It worked, according to Miles, which would be the reason the plane shuddered but didn't crash and we saw the island underwater. But wouldn't that make the scenes flash forwards? Or are they showing us what would have been had they never crashed in the first place?

Anyone care to shed a little light?

Just jumping in here....
The reason young Ben was brought to the temple was because Sayid shot him, maybe that is why the water turned brown when Sayid was brought there????

This show has me going crazy!!!!!

Yes, they are.

Well that was simple enough. Thanks for shedding some light. Now I'll have to rewatch it and try to get the time lines straight. Sometimes I feel like Hurley in the episode where he's asking Miles all the questions about time travel. :rotfl:

I'm right there with ya.

Since school is canceled in our area, I was trying to lure my son into going back and watching the show with me. He's never watched any, and we're like 3 episodes in and I think I hooked him. :rotfl2: That was my goal!!!! I wanted someone to talk to in real life about the show!!!

Anyway, watching the first episodes again, I wanted to point out that we keep talking about the backgammon/chess pieces. I think we're wrong, it's clearly saying they represent Light and Dark, not black and white. That does kinda make more sense. It is definitely a battle between good and evil. Of course that is no shocker to any of us.
