What's this thing with the Family Friendly award? I must be missing something.
I think she (Kristen, E!Online) may have been being funny/sarcastic. I didn't really understand that part and I've been reading the spoilers all along. I think she felt the next part of the statement explained that something happened that doesn't jive with the "family" part.
Check out this picture **IF YOU'RE NOT READING SPOILERS DON'T LOOK**

That could be sweet or icky!! I vote for icky!!

I can't wait for tonight! I take it that Shannon will live to tell about the beast. I also read on a spoiler site about another person disappearing sorta' like Claire but I don't think that will happen for a few more episodes.

Sawyer fans take note of something else I found on the spoiler site...

"Sawyer has a second flashback episode. here will also be a scene in it that will blow the LOYAL viewer's minds (why they say loyal, I don't know)."

Intriguing!

The only thing I haven't read about on any of the sites is something referencing Claire! Are we going to see her again?!

The only thing I know about Claire is that she is NOT a series regular. The other 3 ladies are series regulars.

Thanks for the info deadheadbelle! I hadn't heard that! I guess we can assume that Claire will not be coming back? Too bad...I liked her!

Well, I don't know how much of the show is predetermined, so I suppose they could keep her around if they wanted to. :confused3

Or keep her as a spirit...just like Jack dad and Rose's husband (if he is dead)
just a thought.........

How do you know that? I would think if she wasn't a "regular" then we wouldn't have seen her backstory.

Hate to disagree with my favorite cool chick, but, Claire said in an interview that she will be back.

“Something happens to Claire,” de Ravin says, bursting into a chuckle. “It’s not something I can talk about. I’ve had a few weeks off, because of some happenings. I’m going back to shoot more soon, but there’s not much to report there yet.

“A lot of it is still a mystery to me.”

In addition to heightening the on-island intrigue each week, “Lost” executive producers J.J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof pull back the curtain on a different character’s past in each episode. And there’s a common denominator to the revelations: Everyone, well before finding himself or herself on the island, was lost, either emotionally or in terms of their life’s path.

“That’s definitely something I’m seeing come through,” de Ravin says. “In a way, maybe this is all meant to be. Maybe they’re on the island for a reason. Maybe it’s fate and it’s going to help everyone, because everyone was dealing with the same issues.

“Maybe these people just needed to step back and look at their lives,” she continues, “and this is their opportunity to say, ‘I’m just lucky to be alive. I shouldn’t be worried about this and that.’ And their issues, the ones they had before, are much more irrelevant because of the situation they’re in now. Now they’re just trying to survive.............................................................................................. ............................
Returning to “Lost,” some fans fear that Claire isn’t long for this world. The IMDB doesn’t list de Ravin as a series regular, and that ominous title “Raised by Another” has some worrying that Claire may die giving birth. The actress welcomes the conspiracy theories, but says that the theorists are barking up the wrong tree.

“That’s not it, but the title is interesting,” de Ravin says. “I am a regular on ‘Lost.’ I think it’s great that people are so worried. It ups the excitement about what’s going to happen, and it means that people care about the character, which is what you want to hear when you’re playing a role.”

I didn't say she wouldn't be back, I just know that when the series started, she was NOT a series regular. I read it on Eonline. I think her backstory was necessary for the show. Obviously, the baby is a big deal & her backstory was the baby's backstory, too.

I just cannot wait until tonight!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I love reading everyone's theories and all the spoilers! This show has just sucked me in....I hope whatever is going on on that island doesn't disappoint in the end!

I have never been disapointed in Alias and their season finales. I am sure it will live up ot our expectations.

Well I won't even get to watch tonight. Our local ABC station is instead showing a Basketball game (which does not even include a team from our state) and will show the Lost episode at 12:30 am Thursday. Hope I don't forget to set the VCR and change the channel (I most certainly will not be watching local ABC tonight) before going to bed so I tape the right program.

Our local ABC station tried to do that, too! I guess they got too many complaints, because now they've changed their minds & aren't showing the basketball game and are showing Lost :)

Claire is listed in the opening credits with everyone else, not with the guest stars, so I would figure she is a regular. I can't wait for tonight either, I am like a kid waiting for my birthday LOL.

Ok, so you guys had me thinking I was crazy & making up stuff. I found it! This is from the November 13th "Watch With Kristen" column at Eonline:

Emilie de Ravin (Claire): I'll admit. I've wanted to hate Emilie de Ravin ever since she played that man-stealing alien-***** Tess on Roswell. (Everyone knows Max was meant to be with Liz.) But the thing is, she's sorta instantly lovable, and not just because she really does have that adorable Australian accent.

Her native tongue made her a natural for Claire, the pregnant Aussie who's just about to pop, (though she tells me she did initially read for Maggie's role, Shannon). "Actually, all of us signed on without ever seeing a script, which is really, really strange," she says. "We all had enormous faith in JJ."

What's Next: We'll learn Claire's backstory in the next few episodes, and let's just say there's trouble ahead. "She's got a few secrets, but she's determined to make this work. Which I love. Instead of falling into this, 'Omigod, how am I going to have this baby?' She's kinda accepting it more now."

As for the sparks flying with Charlie (Dominic Monaghan). "They're trying to keep things subtle at the moment, not jump into things. But he's definitely helping take care of me, which is also helping him distract him from his problems."

Emilie is not currently contracted for the full season, and if you want to know more of what's ahead for her character, I'll be spilling it in Monday's chat.

So there you have it, I am not crazy. Well, maybe I am, but I didn't just make this up. ;)

The writers have said she was not listed as a regular for the pilot but is now considered a regular.
ETA: From what I've read, though, you're right on track. Even though she's a regular, she probably won't make it through the season.

Ugggg... what did Shannon do to her brother? I just missed it...

The creature got Shannon!
Noooooooooooooooo!!!!

The island needs more female hotties not less!
