Has anyone every lost anything overboard???? (I hope nothing important...)

I'll be traveling with my beloved Tigger (I never go to WDW without him!!!)

and I'm deathly afraid that I will lose him overboard (I know there are other Tiggers, but this one's been with me for 20 years!!!)

What have you lost and any suggestions (other than locking him in my luggage!!!) (don't want my luggage to bounce too much!!!:lmao: :lmao: )

No, we did not lose anything, but DD6 dropped one of her sandals over the verandah while we were still at Castaway Cay. It took a bit, but the CMs were able to fish it out and return it.

As to Tigger, I understand, my DW travels with Winnie the Pooh. Pooh understands that he may not go out onto the Verandah unless we are in Port, and only with a "Big" someone. Otherwise he is to stay on the bed or table. I am sure that if you explain this to Tigger, and add that you would not like him to take a vacation without you, he will probably agree to the same rules.

My DS16 bounced a basketball off of the court on Deck 11 right into the ocean. I have never seen so many kids laugh so hard.

My DH bought a new baseball cap in Mickey's Mates and two days later had it blow off his head on deck 10, right into the ocean! Apparently a woman on the cruise lost her prescription glasses due to the high winds on deck 10 the same day. I've never had problems up there but I've never been up there on really windy days either.

Does the ping pong ball I lost out to sea count? :rotfl:

Seriously, a very special hallmark dinosaur goes with us on every Disney vacation. #26 had behaved himself quite well on both cruises, although he does tend to scream a bit on rollercoasters. :scared1:

A few years ago I had this fake hair piece wrapped around my real hair that was in a bun. On Deck 10, that fake hair blew off into the ocean. We joked about the fish wearing my hair the rest of the cruise.

Too funny! Is that why Donald Trump doesn't cruise?

Tigger will definately have to stay inside... I don't think he will mind... oherwise... he goes over, I'm going right after him!!!

Trump has wings...not a comb over...

Do the CM's who take care of your cabin also "play" around with your "friends" like they do at WDW?

here is a picture of Pooh and his buddies sitting carefully in a chair on our verandah. He felt very lucky to be out there!

I can certainly understand your feelings about Tigger taking a swim by accident! I panic if I can't find Pooh at night when it's time to go to bed!
Yes, the stewards do "play" with your animals too! We had them with our towel animals at least once, I believe and also peering over the edge of our upper bunk!

Just remember to remove him from your bed area before you leave the cabin. I had my gund bear go with the laundry at the Ritz in San Fran. I made them search for it before I left that morning. I must have sounded like a raving lunatic. Told them it was ridiculous that they didn't check the sheets first and I hope next time I don't leave any jewelry in there. They brought the poor thing to me in a little bag at the checkout counter. It looked so smushed.

My daughter did lose one of her beanie babies this way on the Disney I think.

Have a great cruise Tigger!!

Son lost is baseball cap on Deck 10 due to high winds....it would be pretty hard to lose thing on Deck 9 as most of it is enclosed with plexi but there are a few small openings.

I know the ship gets fined for anything that is "thrown" overboard...they are very strict about guests throwing things over....but of course if something is blown off by accident...it is an accident.

When we were going through the Panama Canal on the Magic people were tossing trinkets over the side to all the locals who came out to see the ship....the Captain made announcements that they could be fined about $250,000.00 per incident so please stop throwing stuff from the ship!!!

Yes, the stewards will play with your animals. We had one steward who did rather racy things with my Lambie and the Minnie we bought on board for autographs. Pictures available on request!;)

I always bring along pretty rocks to drop in the ocean every day for my dad. He's buried in Arlington and I don't get up to see him all that often, so this is one way I remember him. We drop them off in Port Canaveral, in the mornings at sea, at night at sea, at all the different ports. We try to be very discrite so Disney doesn't get in trouble. :)

Yep, DS had a stuffed animal that he couldn't find one night on our cruise. He was horribly upset and then we found him inside the folded comforter that the steward had removed from the bed during turndown. The rest of the trip the kids would put their animals on the desk every morning.

Our little dino often made his way around the cabin -once sitting next to the towel animal, other times sitting on the upper bunk overlooking the edge.

Funny stuffed animal story...

DH travels to Asia often for work - at one hotel they put a small stuffed kitty cat on your bed pillow at turn down each night. DH stayed at this hotel for almost a month.. the kitty collection was growing! Each night he would put the new kitty on the night stand next to the bed. By the time he had about 10 or 12 he was stacking them on top of each other the pile was so big. All were white fur, with a colored bow and tail (different colors - blue, pink, green, yellow, red... you name it). One day he came into the room after work, and all the kitties were gone from the night stand. He was a bit bummed as he planned to bring them home with him. Then as he was going to bed he looked up, and there they all were lined up on top of the TV cabinet looking down at him.  After that, each night they just added a new kitty to the line-up.

Ok...

I am SO glad I am not the only one that travels with a "friend"...

I can only imagine what the TSA screeners think when the bags go through the Xray machines...

I swear that my teddy bear (tigger's BEST friend) and the best cervical pillow I've ever had...waves and makes funny faces when he gets screened...

but hey...that's just me...

We lost grandma overboard our first cruise to Alaska. There she, and her urn went overboard and dropped to the bottom of the Inside Passage. Who knew you could get so much movement on the ship. :confused3

Oh well, it weren't at the raptor center where she was spread, but it was still Alaska.
