LOSE BEFORE YOU CRUISE - Support Thread for all Cruisers

Sorry to get into this late, my cruise is not until Septemeber but I ahve set a goal of 64 lbs to lose frome here to then. My brother had a heart attack at the age of 42 this month ( he is fine now) and since he is only a year and a half older than me I started to get concerned. I am over weight and I have known this and lived with this for awhile and was ok with it until now. I went to the doctor about 2 days after he got out of the hospital and found out that I was 18lbs heavier than I had ever been before at 294. So this is where I am now

Now if i can only get my self to exercise I can get this moving faster. I also am on low carb, but since I am a District Manager for a large fast food restaurant it makes it harder to follow since it so convenient to eat a sandwich and drink a coke, but the good thing is I have really stuck with it and have not strayed once. Bottle water, double cheese( no bun) and a side salad daily for lunch, sausage or bacon in the morning an adkins shake at 10 and a good dinner that I fix since my wife hates to cook has got me through so far.

But I will tell you I am craving a large Pepperoni Pizza.
 
My goal is to lose 80lbs for our cruise..Good thing I have 20 months !! We sail on the Dream Oct 23 2011. Hope I'm not too late. Good Luck to everyone!:thumbsup2

So I have been lurking in this thread for sometime. My story is already being told on my blog (in Feb starting to write more frequently) www.lifeat310.com

About 8 weeks ago, I couldn't walk around Wal-mart without getting winded. I was at 317 on Jan 12 (my weigh in day.) I have been going to the gym about 4-6 times a week doing a 45 mins on a tread mill. The first 2 days I felt like I was going to DIE!! Now, I love it. Find a show to watch and I m gone till I finish. MY doctor wants me to wait till about 250 'till I start weight training. And then being smart about how and what I eat atm. No fad diets. I want a lifestyle change.

I have been using a site called. http://www.fitday.com/fitness/Login.html There really isn't a lot of information on the site I care about...BUT it does have something that has been extremely useful. Once you sign up (free) there is a tab that is called Body. In it, you can measure about 6 areas. (neck, bicep, forearm, chest (over the breast for women), waist (suck in meausre over the belly button), hips (fattest part of your butt), thighs, calf). Since I have started I have lost a total of 17lbs. But more importantly, I am down about 4 1/2 inches off my chest, 3 1/3 off my waist, 3 off my hips, 1 off my neck! THIS IS HUGE!

I have had bad days. But I look at this as a journey. Sometimes a step back is for the leap forward. I weigh in 2x a month on Tuesdays and measure weekly. I have measured in one week and gone up only for the next week to go down.

My wife and I have been working together to lose weight. It has been a ton of fun. I take her measurements and tell not to focus on the unforgiving scale. My tip: write Measurements down. Good luck to all of you! Stay with what works for you! May your dreams come true.

Well at weigh in today, I am down another 1 1/2 so there are 8 1/2 pounds less of me. :) :) I actually was able to put on my jeans which are one size smaller and THEY FIT COMFORTABLY. :yay::yay:

I had to look back to see when I posted last!! It has been a while. So as of today....down 28 lbs!!! 5 weeks left until we sail!!! Want to start shopping, but want to lose more!!
 
Well I have lost 14 pounds so far. I actually won this 3-weeks weight challenge. I was the person whose weight lose as a percentage of total weigh during the past 3 weeks was the highest. I won $48. :banana:
 
Ms Tree, I see you are at 80 pounds now. AWESOME. You are such an inspiration. I want to see my 60 pounds gone someday.

This week I stayed the SAME :confused3 but have started really drinking water they way I should LOL so hopefully it will work its way out by THURs! Weigh-IN. LET ALL KEEP MOTIVATED TOGETHER!!!!!!!

I have been doing well and I hate to say being good, because that means you can be bad...which we all know are feelings we should try to avoid. Anyway, today I was bad:confused3 Pulled my back out, stuck on bed all day on medication and I will admit I ate so much crap!! Not as much as I would have if I was not aware or paying attention, but stuff I have not eaten in months!!!

Well tomorrow is a new day and all I can do is get right back on the horse!! :thumbsup2
 
So what will do tomarrow!! You will pick yourself up!! Stop beating your SELF Up and start over!! It is ok to have BUMPS when we see them we deal and then start a new!!:hug:
