LOSE BEFORE YOU CRUISE - Support Thread for all Cruisers

We are on the repo in September and I want to lose enough so that there is no X in my size.

I have been doing WW since October (planned early) and am doing well. My goal was to learn to eat healthier and I think I am on the right track.

I need to get motivated to excercise, but I hate to sweat.

Loo forward to this journey with you all.

Hi Everyone!

I would like to join as well! I am planning on a Dec 3 night wonder cruise, and a May Med Magic 11 night cruise! I would like to loose 30-50lbs by May 11th!

I'm all in for supporting each other! I am down 30 pounds since November 2009 and have lots more to go! But, hey 30 pounds is 30 pounds! YEAH! I did it by reducing everything by 1/3... Cutting by 1/2 just seemed so overwhelming, so I started at 1/3. Once I got that, I realized how much that diet drinks (with caffeine) were making me crave something sweet, so I allow myself one softdrink a day, and the rest is water with lemon. I'm getting ready to reduce the portion to about what 1/2 would be. Also, a friend that I eat lunch with a couple times a week split lunches.

So, in about 6 months, I've lost 30, so I'd love to loose another 20-25 lbs by September 23rd. Again, would still need to loose more, but I am so excited!

Let's support each other! :cheer2:

My wife and I just booked our 11th Disney cruise. Booking a cruise always gives me that extra motivation in the gym. Several people ask me what i'm training for, and are surprised when I tell them nothing. I like to refer my weight loss to "getting down to cruise weight" Im 6'4" and like to trim down to 205-210, that way I can hit the chocolate buffet with a smile. Keep-up the good work. I also find easy to follow a diet on the cruise, with all the healthy choices already prepared.

Great week at WI. Down another 3. I would like to lose 25-30 before September and then of course more after that. Getting closer to no number and letters in my size.:cool1:

Hi all I am trying to lose about 30-40 pounds before my DCL cruise and my DF and I's DCL wedding in November. So, I figured I would join in on the fun and discussions. I started exercising a few weeks ago and eating heathier (and smaller portions) and I have already lost 5 pounds! yay! :thumbsup2

Great job! I need some motivation to exercise.:thumbsup2

Are you getting married on the cruise? We did our vow renewal on the cruise and it was wonderful.

Yeah we are getting married at Castaway Cay :dance3:

I can't wait!!!

That is where we did ours. It was wonderful. Better than our first wedding. The cake was out of this world. We had whipped cream frosting instead of the buttercream or fondant.

All I can say is that disney did it top knotch. We got something delivered each day to our cabin from them.

Okay, enough said. I could gon and on, but I feel certain you get that is was wonderful.

I wish you all the best. My sister is doing her vow renewal on the transatlantic cruise in September. I am certain it will be awesome as well.

That is so exciting! I just got married @ WDW and it was the best decision I have ever made! Are you on the wedding boards? I would love to hear your plans :goodvibes

How wonderful. We just considered WDW for my nieces wedding this up coming March. Your pictures speak a thousand words. Congratulations.

What a great thread idea! My cruise is in a few months as well and would like to lose as much weight as possible between now and then. I've been doing weight watchers for a few weeks now and have lost almost 10 pounds. It's hard for me to keep my motivation up to exercise though.

Me too. I know I need to, but I just cannot make myself do it. I used to do it during the commercials of biggest loser, but now I fast forward through them. I used to walk, but that became boring. Next.......

oh my goodness - good for you for the 10! yeah, exercising is hardest for me too. i never do it at home, so going to the gym is a pain. good luck!

Oh, I am so glad I came across this thread! I want to loose about 5 lbs a month before our cruise next year. We haven't booked it yet, but it is in the works. The 5lbs is a goal, but I have room in there to work with since I will be dealing with holiday meals soon.

Good luck and great that you are planning and wanting to drop the weight over night.

Next April I plan to be 88 pounds lighter.

I'm using the MyFitnessPal application on my iphone for a food diary, which is awesome as it shows everything not just calories but vitamins, sodium, fats etc.

I programmed it to lose 2lbs a week and it has me on 1310 calories now that I've lost 18 pounds. (The calories automatically dropped from 1350 to 1310 when I hit my 18th pound, not the reward I was looking for!) I also have one of my kids take a picture of me in the same work out outfit in the same spot of my kitchen once a month. And I can see a difference already.

I wish I had done my measurements, and I still might, but I can never find that darn tape measure when I need it!

Now I'm on a plateau and can't get off. I started May 1 so I'm not exactly hitting 2 pounds a week, but I have hypothyroidism so I'm doing fine for me.

I either swim laps at the pond or due the treadmill 5 or six days a week.

I eat everything whole wheat or some other grain besides white flour. I eat no packaged foods, eat veggies at every meal and fruits for desert or smoothies.

I keep a full length mirror near my bed and get dressed in front of it every day. That's working for me real well! I'm like, ugh, how did I get here!

This time feels different to me.....like I'm gonna make it this time. :woohoo:

Wow Pershing, you are doing good. Alot better than me. I bought 2 Biggest Loser DVD's that I plan to work out to. Only did part of it once, then I was exhausted. I'm in the middle of a move, so I didn't have time this week since we are still unpacking. But I am watching what I eat, switched to wheat products. Cutting out soda... doing portion control. I need to take my measurements too.

The thing with getting back to exercising is that the first couple of times out feels like swimming in mud. Then, your muscles reawaken and you leap forward in ability.

For example, the first time on the treadmill, I think I did 2 miles in 45 minutes and the second time was around 41 or so. After that I've been working my way down the 30's. My best is 33:45 minutes. My goal is to do it to US Army standards for my age, which is 24 something. No where near now, but I have to lose more weight before I can REALLY jog.

Ditto on the swimming. First time out was pretty pityful ..couldn't remember the front crawl. Now I'm doing about 10 laps there and back.

My friends advice to me about losing weight is: Be Consistent with your Exercising and Set Goals.

My starting weight was 243 I'm at 227 now and my goal is 155.

Landmarks for me are 179, cause then I'm no longer OBESE by definition but merely Overweight. When I reach my goal, I'll no longer be overweight.:thumbsup2
