Hi all:
I am leaving for FW on Saturday the 8th. :cool1: I have stayed in the 400, 1400 and 200 loops before; a few times with my mother's old class C and last year in our new motorhome. We were put in loop 200 and it was almost impossible to fit. I found that loop as well as the site really small. I remember seeing some web site that had actual dimensions of some of the sites. Does anyone know that link? Also, can you recommend a good preferred loop and (even better) some bigger sites? I have a 42 ft. RV w/4 slides and last year the angle was weird getting in as well as the guy next to me AND across had their cars parked right at the edge of their sites leaving very little wiggle room to get in. It was the first time I almost cried driving our new motorhome and it was only me and the kids to direct me. :woohoo: So, any help you can be would be appreciated. Thanks again.

Don't have dimensions, but we've stayed in loops 100, 300, 400, and 700. We found that the sites were larger in 400 and 700 than in 100 and 300. Sites in 100 and 300 are comparable to sites in loop 200. We now request loop 700 because it is a pet loop and the sites are larger than 300. Not dramatically larger, but there is a bit more leg room.

We have found, however, that Fort Wilderness is super helpful. Make sure you've told them the size of your unit, along with slides and awnings. Also tell them of your last experience with backing in and I'm sure they'll try to accomodate you. I've even seen cast members out helping guests (who were alone) back in.

Happy Camping
54 days, 17 hours and 54 minutes til we're back at the Fort and Star Wars Weekend. :woohoo:

I really did like the 400 loop when I stayed there the first time. 1400 was nice too but it was HUGE (double loop). Although being by the pool and stuff was nice. We will have a golf cart so it's really not a big deal where we are located; just want that site to be big enough to get in. (long enough and wide enough). I guess I will request the 400 loop and ask the CM if they can help me. Thanks.

Thanks. No, there was a site once that people wrote in and reported their site dimensions. It was totally "unofficial" but it was interesting and there was quite a variance. Thanks again, though. :) I appreciate it.

What we did when we wanted to find bigger camp sites is we rented a golf cart while we were up there and drove through all the loops looking for the sites with longer driveways and wider sites and took note of which ones they were. Then, when we would call to make reservations after that, we always requested one of the sites we had found. We have nt had a problem with their fulfilling our request.

I know this doesn't help for your immediate trip, but maybe for future ones.

Do you remember which ones those might be? If so, could you email me? tricializ1@aol.com Thanks. :)
I keep trying to remind myself to do that and then always forget.

I think this is the site you are looking for.

Call Fort Wilderness and have them note your length and the slides/awnings on your reservation. Also tell them you'd really appreciate having an easy back-in site. They'll try to accommodate. We just got back yesterday and we were in site 1446. It's the first site on the left as you come into the loop and it's a little longer and wider than most. It's also near the road, so if golf cart and bus traffic bothers you, this wouldn't be a good site for you. It didn't bother us at all and it was an easy site to get into. Last year we had 1008 (full hookup, not preferred), and it was a good sized site as well. I don't remember the numbers of our other 1400 loop sites, but we've never had a problem getting our 35' trailer (with slide and awning) in, except once when someone on the other side of the road left their truck hanging out.
