Looking to rent points- need to find someone for 1st day of opening?

hi all. I'm looking to rent points for a week Do I need to find someone who can book at 8am on the opening day for these hotels/dates? This is my first time renting and looking for advice on how long I can wait to book.

Just a reminder, specific details regarding renting are not allowed, such as time and resorts. I have edited and deleted specifics. The general rule is that if there are specifics you are interested in, the best thing is to book as far out as possible with an owner at that resort. Certain times of the year are very difficult for reservation--Fall into the holidays--so securing something at 11 months is important. The drawback, of course, is that most owners have a no change/cancel policy so when one rents a DVC reservation, you have to be comfortable with this.

I found our VGF rental through the rent/trade board here on the DIS. Most owners looking to rent post how many points they have at which resorts and by when the points need to be used. The process was really easy. I had my dates set and looked for a renter whose home resort was VGF so that I could book at 11 months out. We signed a contract and had set payment due dates over the 11 months.
