You're welcome, welcome, welcome!!!:)

I promise to catch up with posts I missed yesterday and get some pix on here from Halloween. Everything went fine - girlfriend was really late getting over here but Lauren and I helped get her kids ready. Decided to not sweat the small stuff this week. At least the mom made it up to me by bringing some wine over!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 The girls looked fine; honestly, no one was going to know who they were anyway - no matter how good or bad their costumes were! But we had a little "schtick" going when we got to each house -- I'll explaind and post pix later.

So busy yesterday! Had to get Amanda's supplies packed and ready to ship out for tomorrow; organizing paperwork and carryons. 6 MORE DAYS!!!!!:dance3:

Had a blast last night!

We loaded up the golf cart with a cooler, then met two other carloads of folks and all dove up to one of the more populated sections of our neighborhood. We're way in the back and there are only about 10 houses in a big section back here, so we drove to the front of the neighborhood.

PUlled into the area and a lot of other people were doing the same thing. Cars along the entrance and kids EVERYWHERE!!!! I drove the cart with my neighbor riding with me, and Jeff and the other parents walked with the kids.

We had a really fun time. Then when we finished up with that, everyone came to our house and we sat outside and continued our little Halloween party. Then another neighbor stopped over.... so we ended up with a nice little shindig going on. The kids played upstairs, eating WAAAAAY too much candy of course.

Oh, and did I mention that Jeff and I dressed up???? We had a little Freaky Friday role reversal! it was Ally's idea, but she didn't know we were actually gonna do it.

Every time someone looked at me they said I reminded them of Ellen DeGeneres. And they just whistled at Jeff. Then a police cruiser was driving through the neighborhood, too, giving candy to the kids, and he looked Jeff up and down, and I said, "You're not vice, are you?" :rotfl2: And a good time was had by all!

I'm having camera issues too. Jeff got me a great camera for Christmas last year and I love it! Except that when I use the flash the photos look grainy. Like these. I think it's operator error in my case though! :rotfl2:

Glad everyone had a good time! Hey, where is Pam these days?????

KARA THAT IS TOO FUNNY! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Glad you had such a good time - I want to be your neighbor!

Hope everyoone had a noce night. We had under 150 kids which was surprising since it wass a beautiful night.
My camera is not fixable, it's a bummer because last year I dropped my camera. I was so mad at myself. but the screen cracked and to repair it was more then to replace it. So, we replaced it and I have been sooooo good about always putting it in the case. My husband took it out of the case and noticed where the break was. It was perfectly lined up with a snap (so you can snap it to a belt) on the case, so the case actually broke my camera!!! So, what do you do? We've spent thousands ppn this trip, waht a bit more to replace the camera I guess. So, we are ordering it today and then I am going to go get a really good (snap freee) case for it.

Today I am starting to get ready for our trip (now that Halloween is over). My first stop is cleaning out my car and removing the extra seat. I need to do this anyway because I have to pick up all the cookies my troop sold next weekend. Plus, today will still be a bit warmer, but that is supposed to be changing. Tomorrow I will probably start packing. We leave in 19 days so it is coming fast.

The surprise stay at DLP was fun to hear, and you thought you were the one doing the surprise. The Marie hat is cute.

Have a good day everyone. DH is going to take the kids toHome Depot for Kids workshop so I can get some stuff done, but if I need a break I might stop back.

Happy November....

Hi MickeyMom! Hope you got alot done yesterday! I did alot of housework and then called my church kids to see who was riding the bus, then off we went on the bus!

photo time...then off to a day of girl scout training.

What cuties Laura! Katherine doesn't look too happy?????

Hate to bring a downer but i really need somewhere to vent this too and thought you all wouldn't mind

Longish story but i'll break it down

My friend who i have know all my life (literally 32 years) got engaged recently, i was over the moon happy for her and couldn't wait for the wedding. She text me about a month ago saying they had a date for the wedding, when she told me i almost died, the date she had picked Chloe and I would be in Oklahoma, so i cried lots and lots :sad1: :sad1: and lots and told her what had happened, she couldn't believe it, so the very next day i get in touch with the people i booked my flight with to see if by any chance i could change my flights, my luck was in they managed to change my flights unfortunately with a cost of £350 :scared1: but she was worth it, i could not imagine being anywhere else on that day!! So i messaged her the good news and she was sooo pleased!! I recieve the invite saying, very low key, registry office not church, not many people, not formal etc etc, they're both a little off the wall so that was all good, they were hiring a big cottage to hold the reception in and was gonna be a small event, sounded lovely and i was sooo excited. Then a couple of weeks ago she messages me to say the venue had cancelled so hold off on making plans of somewhere to stay and she'd keep me posted, again that was ok we just held off on making plans.

So i'm in Paris on thursday night and i get a text through from her saying that the venue had cancelled and they were struggling to find somewhere else to accommadate the people they had invited, so unfortunately they were now making the wedding to family ONLY so yes i was uninvited :sad2: ... I am so very upset i cannot believe that she did that, i understand money is tight etc etc but i would have paid for myself and Chloe, for goodness sake i paid £350 to be there already!!! I am sooooo mad :headache: and so upset that i just don't know what to message back as a reply

Ok vent over, sorry such a long post but needed to get that out of my system :sad1: thanks for listening :flower3:

Oh Erin! I'm sorry. That must've really hurt your feelings. She probably got so overwhelmed with her venue cancelling and her plans falling through that she didn't really think the whole thing through. I'm sure she didn't mean to hurt you or cause you to lose money. She may be getting pressure from other family or in-laws, too.

As to what to say - wow, I don't know if I'd text anything. :confused3 I would call and ask if there is anything you can do to help, and just wish her the best. I'm sure you would rather still be friends and over look it than to go through the stress and hurt of dealing with it. We have changed our plans alot for others, too - I don't know why sometimes. We are starting to stand our ground and just do what works for us. Here's a hug.

Thankyou so much Tammie, what you said actually brought tears to my eyes (yes i am an emotional girl)

Erin - I would be very pissed too! I wouldn't respond at all right now. After all, it's not like you have to RSVP to being "un"invited, so I'd just let it ride for now. I'm sure she wasn't intentionally trying to hurt you, and no doubt she completely forgot about you changing your plans for her, but still. It was a bit unthoughtful on her part, if ya ask me.
I would be very upset with your friend if she is your friend you should be able to express that. My best friend is like a sister and as so I would expect to be invited to a family only event.
The wedding thing is quite annoying, glad you didn't cancel all together and enjoy that trip!
erin im sorry to hear that your friend has caused so much ruckus in your life.
OMG I know...I thought originally you were going to say that she changed the date back so that you were going to have to change your tix again!

Thaks to you all girls lots and lots .. I really needed to vent!!!
I think it just hurts so much because it kinda made me realise that the 2 of us see our friendship very differently, i see her as someone i have known my entire life, even lived with at 1 point, someone who i cannot imagine not having in my life or at my wedding (if i ever get one :headache: ) and it kinda showed me that she may not see our friendship the same way and makes me wonder what she sees the last 32 yrs as you know???????
The other thing is she offered to pay the difference to change my flight, obviously she doesn't realise it cost me £350 .. am sure that myself and my girl wouldn't cost that much at the wedding!!!!!

Sorry to go on but this has me really low at the moment am also worried about Chloe she's very unsettled right now and am not sure why, she's not sleeping properly, walking and talking in her sleep an awful lot!
Just feeling bleuuuggghhhh :sad2:

We're here to listen, Erin! I hope Chloe is doing okay - is everything alright at school?

Good morning girls!

Erin - So sorry you're feeling down. That's really crappy what your friend did. But like others have already mentioned, let's give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe her body has been taken over by that awful "bridezilla" personality that seems to claim so many women once they get a ring on their finger - they become so self-absorbed! Anyway, I know you're disappointed and I think it would be worthwhile, at some point, to express your feelings to her. Hopefully, she'll recognize the importance of your friendship and make things right. Hope things are ok with Chloe - it's so hard to see your kids hurting!

Great Halloween pix everybody! Kara - I knew you were really an old man!

So here's a few of ours. As I mentioned, Amanda was Hannah Montana and Lauren and her two friends were the Jonas Brothers. Seriously, we have alot of "young" families in our neighborhood - they knew who Hannah was, but not really the JoBros. So we had this little act: Lauren's friends' dad was their bodyguard "Big Rob" - he would ring the doorbell and announce that he had the Jonas Brothers here to trick-or-treat; I was the crazy teenage fan, screaming in the background; and my girlfriend was papparazzi, snapping pix. After getting their candy, Lauren and her friends would then sing "Burning Up." Everyone seemed to get a kick out of it!

Amanda & Lauren (w/out her curly wig):

I had bought Lauren a curly-haired wig - looked like a mini afro. She put it on with a hat and looked like Harpo Marx! Needless to say, she ditched the wig for the night!

And all the girls: l-r: Keving, Joe, Nick and, of course, Hannah!:cutie:

Good grief - I have NO IDEA why I chose to pose for pictures in my kitchen like that. Awkward!

Erin - I hope Chloe starts feeling better. I agree with Tammie - is everything okay at school?

Ally is going through a rough patch right now too. She got a letter from her BFF from SC. Her mom mailed us a copy of a school assignment that Caroline did in school this year titled "My Friend." She wrote a little report on Ally and why they are best friends. It was sweet. So Ally wrote a letter to Caroline and said "I wish we'd never moved because I miss you so much." It about broke my heart!!! She just hasn't found a "Caroline" here. I love that little girl and the great family she came from. I remember thinking how great it would be for them to grow up together (they lived in our neighborhood, just down the street), be cheerleaders together in high school, go away to college together and be roommates, be each others maid of honor when they get married, etc. I miss Caroline, too. :sad2:

Ally and Caroline at Halloween two years ago.....

And at the kindergarten Christmas party....

They were two peas in a pod. They dressed alike, both wore big hair bows, just so much alike. Have I mentioned I miss Caroline???

Erin- Poor Chloe- It is really hard when they don't get any sleep it stresses them out and then you get stressed out too! We are going thru Luca not sleeping now too. It's tough. Also time change here really did him in. He is exhausted.

Cammie- LOVE LOVE LOVE the pics too cute. You are such a good mom. I didn't even get to take Luca out my Step Dad (grampy) did. He loves to go out and Luca just adores him. :cloud9:

Kara- Ally will find that life long friend. It took me going thru many friends and Amanda is My true love when I met her we were like 2 peas in a pod right away
WeddingDisk1041.jpg

Slow day here today we are going to keep cleaning the toy room. Mike is home so I am sure things will get mucked up.

We also changed our dates for the trip and it is final March 3rd to the 10th. We both couldn't wait until May;)

Jillian - love your wedding dress! I especially like how you used a different colored sash - I've seen that more lately! Very pretty!

OK, so it's March now? You're killing me!!!! :rotfl2:

And yes, it's true - I'm really a dirty old man who sometimes dresses up as a 40ish woman! :rotfl2:

I will be soooo glad when this stupid election is over!!! But I must admit, I'll stay up until all hours tomorrow watching the results come in. I love that part!

Well, Ally is in trouble AGAIN! She was supposed to be cleaning her room and playroom AGAIN and AGAIN she did nothing! so I grounded her from the TV for a week, and I think I'm gonna keep her from gymnastics tonight, too. I'm gonna make her stay in and get it done. And if it doesn't stay clean for the next two weeks, no Rock n Rollercoaster when we go to Disney. I'm so sick of her just trashing everything with total disregard. She drops her dirty clothes on the floor and leaves them. Now she's dropping crap all over the guest room, too. So I'm cracking down.

Kara- The funny thing is I hated that dress on the hanger they had me put it on for size and my mother and Amanda started crying. I tried 3 more on and decided that was the one.As for Disney Yup March WE really couldn't wait for May. As for Ally I agree to crack down. We are just now teaching Luca to put things away. It is a task. If you guys can make it that time that would be awsome. Or we will have a rental car maybe we could meet half way?

Ally sounds just like Beth lately. Where did our sweet girls go. I'm in the same boat-- there is no "caroline" in our neighborhood for Beth to play with. yes there are girls from school but we have to plan out those play dates. Kind of a bummer.

Cammie the girls are so cute. I love the idea that everyone got into it. Don't worry about the kitchen. It will be a way to remember what it looked like years from now. I too freak out every time there is a picture in my house as it isn't perfect. It's a tough thing to get over.

Badookie is adorable!! Looks like he had a great time with the candy.

Tammie hope yours had fun too.

Erin  for you and Chole.

OK, one good thing about Florida - we have a HOT governor! I've been watching him campaigning for McCain down here and he is a fine looking man! And even funnier is that the Jacksonville mayor looks like Jeff! In fact, people at work call him Mayor Payton sometimes! :rotfl2:

Hi MAGICFOR2,
I ws wondering about your DD's Jasmine costume. My DD was looking at getting this for our trip. It is sold out in her size online but there is a store about an hour from my grandparents that have it so they said they would go get it. It looks like it shows a lot of stomach, is that the case of the way she was posing? I don't know if my DD would like that. I have to decide. I thoguth her Belle costume would be fine, turns out it is a bit too short. (It's a med, I thought it was a large).
I am thinking I could have her wear a cami under it.
Thoughts??? She was hoping for something different. We've never had a jasmine costume before.

MickeyMomofThree - My daughter Lauren dressed up as Jasmine many, many times when she was younger - about 5-6 years ago. I can tell you that the costumes she wore didn't reveal too much belly; generally the top hung down pretty low to the top of the pants. I didn't think they were too revealing at all. And these were costumes that we had purchase at the Disney Store.

Good, thanks. I just called my grandparents, they are going to head over to pick it up. The store is a good drive for them (about an hour), but we figure it will be much cheaper then what it would cost us in Disney. It is 1/2 off, so $20. The size may be pushing it for legnth, she's tall, but her Belle dress still fits, just short. So, I hope it works out. If not, DD6 can wear it.

I have to tell you guys. We were given a beautiful brand new Aurora dress for DD6, it's the gold colored dress. It was on DIS last week, a lady MISSYDVC had 2 costumes she posted to give away for free. I was lucky enough to get the Aurora one. She even sent it to me for free. It is so beautiful. DD6 had it on for hours last night, she loves it. She is going to wear it to the castle for breakfast.

Anyway, you meet such nice people here on DIS...

LOVE ALL THE Halloween PIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys all look so awesome! Great ideas and super cute!
Jillian loved your pic too!
I am working on mine now too but I can't spend the whole day on the computer like I would like to. I MUST clean. My hubby told me that we are going to be on the Dr Phil show next week. Not good. He wasn't saying we were going to be on it for a GOOD reason!
