I'm watching Fox News right now and updating my DH who is stuck at work.
But, tomorrow is a big day. DH is having surgery and DD is getting her braces off. Plus the normal Wednesday stuff, dance all evening, homework, etc. And it's parents observation night at dance so I have to be awake. So, I think I am off to bed. We'll see, I never go this early, but I think I may try.
Good night everyone...

(BTW, I love the playroom idea. We do something like that. I call it Toy Jail and they have to earn their stuff back. It's also a good way to see what they still pay with, if they aren't worried about getting it out of jail I know it is ready to be donated or tossed.)

Hi Everyone! You have been a chatty bunch! I had my meeting Monday night, and I was too sleepy to post - anyway - I've been watching the election coverage all day - and had kids here. Everyone is gone now, so I'm relaxing.

Our voting is by mail, so we don't have to go wait in line - we were done 3 weeks ago. I don't think they tally them until today, but I'm not sure.
We are a patriotic bunch - we all voted! :thumbsup2

Jillian, loved your dress- Wow! What a sweet DH to buy you that ring! MARCH! What are your dates in March? Mine are Mar 22 - 29.

Renee - Nice to see you here! Your kids are little cuties! Funny how they always want out of their costumes!:rotfl2: I see they got right to the candy!

Debbie! What cool costumes - Giselle? Looks like they were having a great time!

Kara, more cute pics - I'm sorry Ally hasn't found another Caroline yet! I had my "Debbie" from 2nd - 6th grade. We've seen each other 3 times since 6th grade, but we still keep in ocassional touch. Maybe Ally will be able to stay in touch.

Still watching FL anxiously!

Mickey Mom - hope you enjoy the Jasmine costume -It was CRdisMom (laura) who had the Jasmine daughter - I'm sure you saw that - don't worry, we are a confusing bunch!

Cammie! Cute, Cute, Cute! Sounds like so much fun! I wish my kitchen looked that good! I can't believe you only have 4 DAYS!!!!

Erin, sounds like you are really tuned in to Chloe, and she will be fine - you're a great mom!

Sorry everyone, I can't remember all the posts now that I read through 5 pages! I'll be back - Check out my parasailing in my TR!

Stayed up til almost 1am last night! :scared1: First I was watching the returns, but once it was over, I watched McCain's speech then went to bed and stayed up reading. I kept texting Jeff to see when he'd be home and he wasn't responding. He's usually home by 10:30, but at 11:30 when he wasn't responding to my multiple texts asking if he was okay, I started to panic. His cell phone went straight to VM and I knew he was firing a girl last night.

She's been there 14 years and he's been looking for a way to get rid of her because he knew she was unethical, stealing, etc. He fnally caught her, but I was nervous about her husband/boyfriend. Can we say ultra redneck??? I didn't know for sure if it was going down last night, and when he wasn't answering at all, I finally called the office, not knowing if anyone would answer. Luckily he picked up the phone right away. Whew! A few tense moments there, so then I was wide awake. Turns out his phone was not getting any reception for some reason....

Good luck with everything today. We'll be thinking about ya!!!

I am glad Jeff is safe and sound!!!!!

Hi Tammie...HI everyone else! I have a busy day but will hopefully be back tonight after the day is done!!!

Tammie- We will be there March 3rd to the 10th. We are so super excited I am making our ADR's today.
Thank You about the dress. Mike can be very sweet.

Well We voted yesterday and it only took a few mins. Well worth it we had some very important questions to answer.

Kara- I was right there with you. I was up until 1am watching the 2 speeches McCain so eloquent and Obama so hopeful. I think that they would have made a good team. I am glad Jeff is okay that would have made me worry too!

Renee- Those babies of yours are ADORABLE!!!! So cute. :cutie:

Cammie- You must be so excited. I am so disappointed that I can't be there with you and Kara and the girls.

I have a job interview Monday it is for a customer service position that will allow me to work from home or go to the office. I am super excited. I really do hope I get it.

Jillian - I do hope you get that position! That's what I do and love it! Actually, I had to take Ally to the dentist today (no cavities, yea!) so I"m doing a little work tonight. I love the flexibility. Plus, I can really work on things that require my full attention in the evenings when the phones aren't ringing. I'm getting about 10 calls an hour right now. They can range from 30 seconds to 30 minutes!!! It's crazy busy!

Cammie - when do you fly out???

/
WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYWORLD IN TWO DAYS!!!!!!!!:cool1:  :cloud9: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3:

Kara - We fly out on Sat. morning, 7:10 am flight.:scared1: Yeah, that's the one thing I'm NOT looking forward to. I'll probably have to get up around 3:30am to be ready to leave by 4:45am. But, who cares? I'm going to Disneyworld!

Camster - I am so jealous!!!!!! I've been trying to get DH to go to Disneyland, but no way.

Glad to hear everyone is doing alright. We're trying to work on our Holiday list this weekend. Friday I'm getting my cpac machine, my hair done and hopefully my shopping done. I still have a ton of sewing projects to do before Christmas.

How is everyone doing with their lists?

Cammie - All I can say is

Tina - I think I"m gonna work on my list slowly. This weekend I'm shopping for teachers, bus driver, neighbors, etc. I'll get a little gift card for the bus driver, and I want to get a handbag for Ally's teacher and get it monogrammed. Then for the neighbors I'm gonna make homemade apple butter and then do a biscuit mix, makeit up and put it in a cute Christmas tin. Then in a couple of weeks, I'll start on my neices and nephews, then after that I'll start on Ally. Just trying to split it up between paychecks so I don't have to use credit cards this year. I hate getting the bils after Christmas and thinking, "why did I do this????"

Stupid computer issues yesterday so I ended up working for a couple of hours last night. I'm so tired today!!! I think I'm gonna crash for an hour or so at lunch time today. I know I should go to the gym, but I just cannot get myself motivated to do that!!!

Looks like Thanksgiving will now be spent at our house. Apparently Jeff's sister invited us up there, but she did it through his mom. She never calls us. So when we said we'd go to Jeff's parents house, his sister was pissed. Imagine that. I told Jeff no way, no how am I going to her house for Thanksgiving. He agreed. So luckily, Jeff has to work the day after Thanksgiving, so we're staying here. I think his parents are coming down though so that will be fine. Except that we get the expense and the hassle of Thanksgiving dinner. Last year it cost us over $300 because we had just moved in so we had to buy all the food that we couldn't pack and move. You know, all the stuff you normally have on hand in the fridge or freezer, eggs, milk, etc. So it shouldn't be quite as bad this year.

Tammie - to do those embellishments on the shirts, should I stitch the "diamonds" on or will they glue on and stay?

okay hopping that this post sticks.

Cammie have fun. It will be a good thing to get away and have a great time.

I haven't even started to contemplate the christmas shopping. Although I do fancy a few things that disney.com has been sedning in e-mails. I never thought I would get so many oh well maybe one day I will get the magic code that makes it worth upgrading. :)

rain and snow today. katherine and I had a nice all nighter last night. I am exhusted. I haven't even begun to plan her 2nd birthday which I have said will be on the 15. Yikes better get moving. at least it is just family.

Good Morning everyone,
Yesterday was a really crazy day, an the next couple look as busy. I am living for the weekend (but then again who isn't?)

The day started getting crazy when DD9 was getting dressed. She was going to the orthodontist who gives points to the kids (they redeem them for prizes) for various things. Good brushing and flossing, being on time, no breaks and for wearing his t-shirt. (He has t-shirts made with his name on it, free advertising, I don't mind, he's a great orthodontist and I recommend him all the time anyway.) We could not find the shirt anywhere. I was going through dirty clothes, pajama drawer, finally we found it in her sister's closet. So, they were set but I had 1/2 hour to get showered and ready. I made it, then dropped my DD6 off with my friend to get her on the bus so we could get there on time.

She came out early from getting her braces off and turned in some of her points for a $20 gift card for Disney while I talked with the doctor. We quickly made her next appointment and headed out calling DH, hoping I had caught him so I could take him to his surgery. They had already left and were about 5 minutes ahead of me. I told him to have his friend drop him off and I would be there shortly. I was so happy not to have to miss being there. My DH goes to so many things with me (dentist because I am scared of it, many appointments and treatments for endometriosis, again, scared) and I didn't want to not be with him. So, I am almost there adn i get a call, his friend has a flat tire, go help her first. OK, then another call, no come here, they need you to sign that yo uwill drive me home before they can start. So I go and sign and leave DD9 to read Highlights while I run and give her my phone to make a call. We call her boss (DH's old boss), a really nice guy who says he's on his way. So, we are chatting for a minute about how my DH is so stubborn that he probably won't take the afternoon off. (He was determined to have the surgery as his lunchhour and not take any vacation time off.) We hear screaming, "Please help me!" So we turn and see an older lady falling. We run and help her down to the ground, just then a car starts backing up and is like 3 feet from hitting all of us, so we are yelling, banging oon the window and thankfully she stopped. It wasn't her fault, the lady was down on the ground and we were leaning over to help her, it would have just been a horrible accident is all. We tried a couple times to help her up, to get her out of the road, but she was in too much pain. She said she just wanted to get to her car and drive home, but I said no way, if you can't feel your legs you sure can't drive. I took her keys and DH's friend took her purse. We had more helpers by this time and one went to get a doctor and a wheelchair. Meantime the guy from work came (he was also helping) so he changed her tire while they waited for an ambulance for the lady. We gave her back her things knowing she was getting help and not planning to drive. I finally made it back with my DD9 (who I had been running in and checking on) about 5 minutes before my DH came out. He was fine, joking as always, and ready to go back to work! He makes me crazy sometimes. We took DD9 out for a quick lunch (she wanted Taco Bell to eat nachos, she's missed them over the last 10 months. So, we ate, got gas (BTW, $2.44 a gallon!!!, yeah!!!!), and took Dh to work and dd9 to school. I decided rather than running back and forth I'd stay and catch up on some volunteering I have been getting behind on. I workd from noon to 3:30, picked up the kids and headed to dance. This was parent observation day so we stayed and watched. Then we went to the place we always go for dinner on Wednesday, and met DH there. (On Wednesdays my kids dance from 4-5 for one then 6 for the other, there is a restaurnat in the same plaza taht has family night on wednesday. It's just a burger place, but good, and they have games, prizes, face painting, balloon animals, that sort of thing on Wednesdays so we have made that our tradition.) We ate and the kids played then DH took DD9 to her class (we wern't watching hers till her teacher comes back from having a baby) and he headed home. I stayed with DD6 to play some more as I always do. I ran and got DD9 and we went back to play a bit more. We got home at 8pm. I had left at that morning at 8:10. It was a long day. DH took 2 Advil, not any of the Codine they had given him, and went to bed early. He says he feels fine. I hope he doesn't overdo it, I worry about him, but he is the only person at work that does his job so if he takes time off there will be twice as much tomorrow. I understnad that, but still worry. Plus, they don't get sick days, Just a set number of days off. So, if you are sick, need a personal day or are on vaction they all count the same. I hate that policy, everyone goes to work sick all the time because they don't want to waste a day on being sick. I am not surprised that he went back to work, when he had his vacetomy 7 years ago he came home for about an our before he asked me to drive him to work. He sat with ice on his "ahhh-ehhm" while working just an hour after it. We all thought he was crazy then, now I was expecting it. But he was at a different company then so his co-workers here didn't believe he'd be back. But I knew better.

So today I have "loads" of laundry, a messy house to clean, a Brownie meeting tonight to get ready for and 2 parent-teacher conferences. I have been going since 5:30 so I needed a break. Tomorrow I am going on a field trip with DD9's class.

We leave 2 weeks from today so this weekend is all about packing!!! I have no real plans so I can get this all done. I do have to pick up my GS troops' cookies on Saturday and will have to sort the girls cookies out, but that won't take too long. My girls will help me.

Camster0307, how long are you going to Disney for? I hope you have a grat trip, I am sure yo uwill--- it's Disney!! have a safe and wonderful trip!

Karajeboo, Glad your DH is ok. I hate when I can't reach mine, I always worry. It's always bad service or a dead battery but I always worry anyway!

What kind of work from home do you guys do? Is it a local thing or a national ting. I'd love to make some income, but am having trouble thinking about committing to anyting because I don't want to miss anything at school, you know, the field trips, the parties, the days off. I have been at home so long I get so nervous thinking about it. My kids expect me to be at everyting at school, I love that they liek me there and actually want me there and I love being there. I'd love to find something I could do at home.

Hope everyone has a great day. It's a beautiful fall day here. Hope it is where you are as well....

Cammie- :cool1: pirate: So Exciting!!!!

Laura- We just got over the waking up again in the middle of the night. He just got his K9 teeth in and he was having a hard time. This is the last of the teeth he needs for now. Thank Goodness. Is Katherine feeling ok? Or just an off night?

Kara- We usually spend about $150 for Thanksgiving dinner, but this year my parents are making everything. I will bring dessert which I am buying at the bakery. Our big purchese is an organic turkey.

Tina- Christmas shopping is 1/2 done. I still have Mike and my parents, but that is it. I will do some shopping online to get my Sunshine points up.

Well I have to go find something to wear for my interview since I have had Luca I haven't bought anything with a zipper and button. I wear Yoga pants everyday. So out to do that today. :guilty:

mickeymom of three.. you'll hate me but Gas in Mpls is at 1.94/gal. Yup under $2.00. It would be less but our legislature added $0.15/gal over the summer.

I think Katherine was just off. She's napping now. I am going to sneak a little one in too once I get her birthday invites in the mail

CRdisMom - OMG! Gas is so cheap! It would probably be cheap enough for you to pump 20 gallons and express it to me then for me to drive down to our local Shell and get 20 gallons. Man this economy sucks!

I'm going through my to-dos for the next few days and I don't see any "ME" time in there at all. Tomorrow I'm getting my CPAC machine - finally I will get a full night of sleep without waking up with a headache!, then a hair appt at 1pm and somewhere in there DH and I have to do some holiday shopping. Then I have to run around to stores for 'donation' items for Girl Scouts and school then I get to hang myself in craziness because DD6 has a birthday party to go to at Chucky Cheese - god help me!!

The weather today has me so down - rain, rain, go away. Well at least DD9 and I aren't fighting - famous last words. She's got this suction cup thing that she's sticking to everything and 'popping' around the house just to annoy me! Pre-teens!:dance3:

Thanksgiving - we're going over my mother's house this year. My bil invited us, but honestly her parent's think my 2 kids are 'out of control' (they're not the perfect little angels her granddaughters are - Please!) and their kitchenette can barely fit three people, so I said "No thank you". I don't need to listen to her mother's crap or deal with my lying sil for another holiday.:) I'm going to have to listen to my own family's crap for another holiday. Thankfully my father's sister won't be coming, so I won't have to listen to how wonderful her 'precious' children are. Yeah, her son almost flunked out of high school because he's still trying to find himself and the younger son just wants to play hockey and never does his school work. Her husband isn't any better because he blames everything on the school and everyone else, never mind that they've never given them any structure or guidance. I'm just glad DH only has to make mashed potatoes for dinner..nice and easy.

Boy it sounds like I'm such a B***H, but hello doesn't everyone have something in their family that they just roll their eyes at.:confused3

Hello I found 2 radio channels today that were playing Christmas music - it's only November 6 !!!!:headache:

Alright I'm going to make dinner. Have a good night.

Hi all

Only read back briefly, sorry!
Big thanks to you all for hugs and thoughts, i try to be a good mum although some days is tricky but i think we have a good rhythm after all its been just Chloe and I for 7 yrs now, but still being a mum is never easy hey??!!

As to the Christmas list .. well i have soooooo many people to buy for and very little money i pretty much start asap so in june/july in the summer sales there i was with my best friend getting all the bargains i could find .. Chloe is well and truly finished although her b'day is 4 weeks after Christmas so that gets done in the jan sales :lmao: ... i have 11 other kids i buy for 11 adults and 3 teenagers who i give money .. so yes i start very early hahaha so i am nearly finished, all the kids are done, Chloe is definitely done and if i buy anymore for her my bf is under orders to cause me pain :lmao: and half the adults are done woohoo

Ok i have a question for all you American ladies ;)
Here (well certainly me and people i know) we don't do much on Christmas Eve and pretty much all of our celebrations occur on Christmas Day .. I was wondering what is done on your side of the world? Are your celebrations done mainly on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day??

Cammie have an amazing time in WDW and say a big hello to Mickey for me :rotfl:

Well I have to go find something to wear for my interview since I have had Luca I haven't bought anything with a zipper and button. I wear Yoga pants everyday. So out to do that today. :guilty:

Yikes Jillian i feel for you .. hope you found something, when is the interview??

CRdisMom- I don't hate you at all for low gas. I'm thrilled. We had budgeted gas for our trip to disney at $4 a gallon, the lower we get it the better. I know we get hosed for gas, among many things here in NY.

TinaLala-My husband has been using a CPAP for years, it helped him a lot. Not a perfect sleeper, but so much better! It's stories like yours that make me not miss having a family quite so much.:rotfl: I don' have any siblings, my DH had a brotehr who died when I was pregnant with our oldest. He has a half sister but they haven't spoken in years. We have very limited with our families except for my grandparents (and my great grandma). We have our family and we are happy with that.

Our Thanksgiving will be in Disney, our Chrismas we have decided to head to Michigan (weather permitting). That is where my grandparents live. I'd rather stay home (something about being in my home, I don't know), but we haven't gone there for a few years and my great-grandma won't travel anymore (she's 96) so we thought we'd go home and have Christmas with her and my grandparents.

DizzyErin-Our Christmas eve is very low key. We build a fire, the kids get to open one gift (new Christmas pajamas), we decorate cookies for Santa and have a dinner or cheese foundue and dessert of chocolate founue. We have A Christmas Story (plays on TBS for 24 hours) on in the background, we'll probably play a board game or two before the kids heading off to bed.
I know my DH's family does a big party on Christmas eve, we used to go (out of obligation) but we didn't enjoy it. We have cut ties so we don't go anymore.

I love the way we spend the holidays, theya re a lot less rushed than many families as we don't have lots of people to see, but I sometimes do feel sad that my kids don't have aunts, uncles and cousins. But, someday we will have 3 SILs and grandchildren and we will experience hectic family holidays no doubt.

soontobewed07- Your wordrobe sounds like mine. I do own jeans too, but my life is driving kids places, leading Girl Scouts, volunteering at school, laundry, grocery shopping, playing in the yard. Jeans are about the best I wear day in and day out. I have a couple nicer things for nights out, that's about it. Good luck with your search and interview.

I'm off to go make a pasta salad for the kids luches tomorrow. I want to have it amde because I get to go to my DD9's field trip tomorrow so I need to be ready and out the door by 8:45. I get up at 5:30 with DD14, but usually don't get ready till after everyone leaves, tomorrow I need to be ready so I figured I'd pack lunches tonight-one less thing to do in the morning.

Have a good night everyone...

Christmas Eve is different for everyone here. We use it to celebrate with family that has too much going on Christmas day. We have an " Open House" Anyone friends or family can attend we swap gifts and enjoy great food and the there is a Parade with Santa and beautiful floats.

Then Mike and I scramble home to get all of the gifts under the tree and put Luca's big gift together so he can see it when he comes down the stairs!

My interview is Monday and I didn't find anything today. Actually I went to the Korean store.

Cammie- Have a blast. Text and let me know you made it ok!

Wow! Homemade biscuit mix for Christmas - have to call you Brea again!

We are doing Thanksgiving here this year. Ryan and Dana will be at her folks, so it's just our kids and my parents. I can't believe how much it costs to put together a nice dinner. We haven't really planned the menu yet.

As for the embellishments, we bought the sew on kind, because we were afraid the glue wouldn't hold if we washed the shirts.
