Ladies I need your help. So I priced out Disney with the AAA travel agent for the week I chose and she said it is more expensive than the week we were going to go in Sept. $300. So I need to know what the weather is like Mid October and what you girls think the crowds will be like!:upsidedow

Jillian - Mid-October is very unpredictable. We used to alternate going at that time with going in December. But quite frankly after two Octobers of incredibly wet and humid weather (not good for Amanda), I've given up at going at that time for now. Remember - it's hurrican season. And while Orlando may NOT get a hurricane; it can still feel the remnants of one. The week of Columbus Day is also crowded but don't think it's as highly crowded as other holiday weeks.

On the flipside, it's Food and Wine festival time and the Halloween decorations at MK are fabulous!

I've probably just confused you even more now.

Sorry - I missed this earlier. We were there in mid-Oct in 2004. It was wonderful! The temp was hi 70s- low 80s. It did rain a few nights, but the evenings were mostly warmer than they were this March - it is the tail end of hurricane season - that's why Sept is so cheap - it's prime hurricane time. They had just had Ivan, twice, two weeks before that.

OOPS, I see Cammie has more experience with Oct than I do!

I HAVE 18 DAYS LEFT AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO START. THIS IS OUR FIRST TRIP TO WDW AND I THINK I AM ABOUT TO FREAK OUT. WE ARE NOT DOING ANY ADR SO I'M NOT WORRIED ABOUT THAT. I HAVE 2 CHILDREN DD 9 AND DS 3. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP LOL:eek:

YIKES! THE FACT THAT YOU HAVEN'T PLANNED HAS ALL OF US CONTROL FREAKS ABOUT TO FREAK OUT!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

You can look at the trip planning forums and find lots of info - also read a couple of trip reports by people with kiddos about the ages of yours. There's lots of info here on the home page in the links above where it says Theme Parks, dining, etc. I would definately write down at least which park you're going to when - it can be pretty overwhelming once you get there - you can never do it all! You need to choose which things each of you want to do most, and then fit other things in as you can.

As much as you want to sleep in, you MUST get to the park before opening every day, or plan to be at the parks with Early Morning Hours if you're staying on property. Fast pass the biggest and best rides, and you can be done with all the big stuff by lunch, then take time to meet characters, look around, shop - go back to the resort so your 3 yr old can get some down time or a nap, then go back or park hop to another park and enjoy the parades, small rides, etc.

I love the passporter book for planning. It has step by step instructions and descriptions and advice as well as ratings of everything. www.passporter.com It comes really fast, or you might be able to buy it at the book store. That's where I started, and I found a link to the DIS in that book - now I've met wonderful friends here!:grouphug:

Hope you stay and get to know us, we are a fun bunch!

Kara - I have to tell you - I've seen this happen too and you know what? These people were watching the parade in the wheelchair viewing section! They were clearly off-duty CMs because they were talking to the cms monitoring the area; when the parade started, they would yell to get the attention of characters in the parade. I was annoyed because I felt like it was taken the attention away from Amanda and the other kids in that section. But I didn't know how to complain about it.

I thought about taking pics of them and then if it got any worse I would send to Disney! Seriously! The only reason it didn't affect Ally was because we were right next to them so the characters just moved right along to us. But even the characters didn't seem as special to me because I saw them playing up to these obnoxious folks. OH, well....

Jillian - Octobe is unpredictable as far as rains go, but hurricane season is at the tail end so not much to worry about then. Prime hurricane season is late Aug through Sept. But September can be HOT! I think I'd like Octoer better - when Jeff and I went last year, mid Sept, it was hotter than our May trip. Easily low to mid 90s each day. October is beautiful in FL!

Well, gotta go get ready for swim team tryouts this morning1!!!

I just want to thank you so much for the information. It will help me out a lot:worship: I'm so excited and worried at the same time lol. Im sure everything will work out. I've just got a lot of reading to do:surfweb: Thank you again.

Erin, I'm sorry you still have the blues:hug: Is your OK friend planning to come and see you sometime?

Oh i do hope so ... But just between you and i (none of the kids know) they are arranging to be in WDW when we are in Jan/Feb for Cj's b'day yayayaya :cool1: it will blow their minds and at least i don't have too long till we see them

Every year, Amanda makes something in school for me for Mother's Day. It's always so sweet and touching because of her limited abilities. I cherish these gifts so much and over the years her teachers have really put alot of thought into it. Well, this year Amanda has a MALE teacher and he's not very good at the sentimental stuff, KWIM? Anyway, yesterday Amanda came home with TWO gifts - one for me; and one for my ex's new wife!!!! I'm so hurt by this. I guess I can understand the attempt to acknowledge the woman, but the gifts are not personalized at all - each just has a post-it on it that says "Happy Mother's Day." Like we're interchangeable? This woman does nothing for my child and considering everything I've been through with Amanda, and continue to go through without her involvement, I just think it's really insensitive. I know I'm very territorial with my kids so maybe because of that, I'm over-reacting? But I can't help but feel slapped in the face and REALLY want to address this with the teacher on Monday. Am I being over-sensitive?

You don't have to agree with me to make me feel better because, honestly - if I'm over-reacting - I NEED to hear it so I can snap out of it. But I would just love to hear some unbiased opinions.

OK i would want to slap the teacher big style!!!!
Oh Cammie i don't think you're over-reacting at all and i know i would feel the same if it happened with me and Cj

Ally made swim team! She did great and almost beat a much older girl in freestyle! It wasn't a race, they were just in adjacent lanes for their tryouts, and the other girl (maybe 12ish?) only beat Ally by about one body length! Not that I'm braggin.... :cutie:

We always go the fist or second week of October and have had PERFECT conditions everytime! W have been there up until the 15th or so.
We LOVE October! My dumb brother is getting married in November so we had to settle for my awesome upcoming June trip!

I am still hardly at the computer BUT I am ALWAYS thinking about all of you guys!

Have a wonderful day tomorrow!!!!!!

Hope all of my best buddies have a wonderful day today and you all get the break and special treatment you deserve!!!

I'm the only one awake in my house right now. I had Amanda up at 7am - she's now back asleep. Lauren probably won't be up until after 10. But I'm been given strict instructions to wait to eat. Lauren always makes me breakfast for Mother's Day. Nothing major - blueberry muffins and fruit salad - but it's fun to see her working in the kitchen! :lovestruc

It's a beautiful day today but I think the girls and I will be heading out this afternoon to see the Hannah Montana movie. They haven't seen it because they were both sick when it came out; thought it would be a nice little bonding experience for the three of us.:goodvibes Then it's back home for dinner - steaks on the grill and Lauren and I are making strawberry shortcake for dessert. YUMMY! I hope you all enjoy your day.

And Debbie - :ssst: I DID "forget" to give it to the ex last night when he dropped the girls off. You know, I'm just so pre-occupied with all the things I have to take care of by myself, I just forgot! She'll get it on Thursday. :p
Guess I'm a brat too! ;)

HELLO!

We're back. Got in late last night. Mia puked - and puked some more on the plane. She had a stomach bug hit Thurs. Nicolas is sick with what I'm hoping ISN'T the swine flu, but he has awfully flu like symptoms. I have an appt in 30 min - so we will find out soon.

Just wanted to wish all my buddies a very happy Mother's Day! I've missed you!!!!:flower3:

And can someone fill me in on what I've missed? :confused3

Welcome Back Lorrie! So, what does Nicolas have?????? Is it swine flu?

We want pictures!!!!!

Wasn't the piggy flu. :lmao:

Get this - AWFUL (Dr's words) ear infection & upper resp. infection. :confused3 Kid didn't fuss one bit on the plane, but I guess that is why he was up all night.

I'll get to the pictures. I might even do a trip report. Give me a couple of days to unwind. Did 6 loads of laundry today and looks like Nicolas will miss school tomorrow. :headache:

Good night buddies.

Okay, anal me was skimming. :rolleyes1

The bounceback is for Carlos and I only - solo. There was just too many rides we really wanted to do, shows we wanted to see, and we were kinda catering to the kiddos. It is for my birthday, so it can be my show. I'm doing this... it is my birthday... suck it up - you get the idea. My BF is taking the kids Sat - Mon. WOO-HOO!

ADRs we missed: :sad2:
Ohana - Dinner
Le Cellier - Lunch
Crystal Palace - Breakfast and Lunch
Chef Mickeys - breakfast (but made dinner on a different night)
Tuttos - Dinner

Long story. I'll get to it.

Someone felt it was too much food and WISHED SOMEONE WOULD HAVE TOLD HIM! I pulled out my phone and offered to call my DIS buddies who DID TELL HIM! :snooty:He shut up.

We did have a good time. The weather was MISERABLE! We had to go in by noon to get Mia out of the heat. Around 11 she would start screaming 'HOT". By Wed she started running a 104 fever for a couple of days and had a stomach bug. :scared:

HOWEVER, on a great note. The dr today told me that at least in TN, all the swine flu cases were NOT AS BAD as the regular flu cases the past winter in terms of severity. So there you go. :)

Seriously, off to bed.

I haven't even looked at photopass, but I bet I have 100. A good 25 of my son fighting darth vader.
